Cast of Characters: Wolverine, Shadowcat, Domino

Wolverine has posed:
It's early evening. The sun has set, but it isn't so late that everyone has gone to bed. Not long ago, there was the sound of quite the uproar out in the woods by Breakstone Lake. What sounded like an explosion, followed by some shouting. Then nothing. Silence for a long time.

Then, emerging from the woods and up one of the paths towards the Mansion, come Logan and Domino. Both of them look worse for wear, bleeding profusely and beaten. Logan himself is caked in blood and dirt with what look like chunks of flesh torn messily from his chest, shoulders and ribs. He barely can stand, and he supports himself against Domino who is herself not looking so great.

They stagger in through the front door, Logan managing to take a few heavy footsteps towards the dining hall before he collapses with a thud onto the floor.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde's car is at the school. Which isn't always the case, she seems to come and go without the car being there. Though it's definitely there now, Kitty having made the drive up from New York and just parked it. She gets out, leaving the door open for Lockheed to fly out. Kitty grumbles as she heads for the front doors.

"Seriously took for granted how awesome Narnia was," she's saying to herself. "God the commute is going to kill me. It's going to cut my time down to a fraction-" she's complaining to herself as she goes inside and starts walking up the stairs.

It's Lockheed who notices those coming in the door behind Kitty, down below. He gets her attention and Kitty peers down, just in time to spot Logan collapse. "Logan!" Kitty jumps over the railing of the balcony, falling and passing into the floor before popping back up above ground a moment later. "What happened?" she asks as she starts checking his condition.

Domino has posed:
The wound at her side is the worst thing to behold on her where as Logan is missing chunks of flesh that are still knittin together. "This..is why..you should not live alone. You attract the worst friends. He's a grade A psycho clinger," she retorts in a strained voice. She grips at Logan and tries to shuffle his weight onto her as they move. Nevermind the two large holes in the middle of both her hands. Thats going to be a fun one to get over.

As they enter, she's not shy at all and calls out. "I NEED HELP!" Her voice cracks, throat dry from the sedatives and lack of water during captivity. But when Logan goes down so does she, collapses beside him upon her knees as blood trickles out of her suit from an old wound. "Logan..talk to me," she instructs. reaching up a ruined hand to shake him.

Kitty suddenly is there. When did that happen? Domino does not have the best focus presently. "Sabertooth," is all she says.

Wolverine has posed:
Logan is still for a moment on the floor, whatever consciousness he had fleeing him temporarily. The wounds are easier to make out when he's not moving and within the well-lit halls of the Mansion. They seem to have been made by sharp claws, scraping and peeling away flesh. Around his collarbone the cuts are so deep that the metal of his skeleton momentarily catches the light.

Then his eyes flick open, and he sits bolt-upright with a shuddering gasp of horror. He grabs at Kitty's wrist when her hand comes close, squeezing too tight as he holds it back from him. Eyes that seem more animal than man regard her for a moment, playing out that calculus of 'friend or foe' across his features. His grip slackens, but he keeps hold as he moves her hand towards Domino.

"Her ... first," he struggles out, falling backwards again with a heavy fall that rattles the china in its hutch. He stares up at the ceiling for a moment, blinking dumbly.

Shadowcat has posed:
A couple of students stick their heads around a corner after having heard Domino's cry. Kitty points to them. "Moochie, get the first aid kit! Hambone, run to the infirmary and get help. DON'T JUST STAND THERE HAMBONE! MOVE YOUR ASS!" Kitty Pryde yells at the second student who stands gaping before finally the shout sends him on his way running through the halls.

Kitty looks back, giving a soft growl when she hears Sabretooth was involved. "If we can get the bleeding stopped he'll be-" Kitty manages before Logan is suddenly sitting bolt upright. Kitty is close to phasing, knowing he can lash out in moments he isn't sure what is going on. Though it turns out to not be necessary.

Kitty scowls at Logan openly. "Alright, but lie back down and bleed quietly if so," she tells him. Kitty looks over to Domino, wincing at the sounds. She rips the bottom half of her shirt away, and then in half. "Let me have your hands," she says, using the makeshift bandages to try to help stop the bleeding there. "The on duty people should be here soon," she says.

Domino has posed:
The aggravated wounds on her hands are worn raw and wider. The left one looks worse than the right, as if the gaping wouned had been stretched by weight. She grimaces as she hands them over - so to speak. Her blue eyes track Logan a moment, sucking in a breath. "He was going to kill you," she hisses at him, "Should have ended him.." she is looking pale as ever but sweat slicks her brow in a sickly way. Blood loss is bitch.

Eyes lift to study Kitty. "Like your tone," she remarks, a faint smile pulling across her features until her hands begin to get attention. Then its a grunt and wince as the curve of her lips is wiped from her face. But its clear, worry is written acros her brow as she glances to Logan. "That maniac is still near, I am sure of it. Admiring his handiwork. Gave him a few things to remember us by," she says. The guns holstered at her hips are slick with blood on the grips. "Think he might be sniffing around here more often then not."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan breathes slowly, letting his arm fall back to his side and following Doctor Kitty's orders. Now that he's calmer, resting, the wounds seem to knit themselves together. Not completely, and while the process is still markedly faster than it would be for most people, it seems slower than it should for Logan. It'll be days before he's right again, it seems.

From where he lays, he turns his head slightly to watch Kitty tend to Domino. He doesn't say anything of Sabretooth. The decision he made was the right one, he knows, but he can't blame Neena for not seeing it. He lets it just hover there, unspoken.

"She put him down," Logan wheezes to Kitty, "Think he might a' had me, if not for her. Take good care a' her, Kit."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty gives Domino a look close to a smile, though the matter is too serious for it to quite reach that expression fully. "I don't think he'd come in after you. It would be suicidal and he'd know that," Kitty says. She gives a little wince at the worst of the hand wounds. "We need to make sure these are tended right," she says, concerned it could affect her use of her hands otherwise.

The sound of running feet can be heard coming down the hallway. "I'll take good care of her," Kitty agrees with Logan. "Both of you. And don't think a bunch of stab wounds is going to get you out of laying the foundation for the new wing, Logan," Kitty says, shaking her head and affecting a normal tone towards Logan. Though he knows her. He can smell the worry on her for him. Kitty's just trying to project a reassuring air.

The on-duty medical personnel come running down the hallway, and Hambone is behind them pushing a wheeled stretcher. They move to take over, Kitty moving aside for them, but helping when they lift Logan onto the stretcher to roll him back to the medical bay.

Domino has posed:
"We /are/ talking about the same Sabertooth, right Kitty? His suicidal already," Domino remarks but doesn't argue, nostrils flaring as she flinches while her hands continue to be adressed. She grits her teeth, the squeak of enamel nearly breaking as they grind together. Her eyes stray to Logan again, narrowing slightly. "I will kill him...if he can hunt, so can I." There is a cold deadliness to Domino's promise, one that lingers in the air as she momentarily loses her iciness only when Logan needs help to get on a stretcher.

Domino draws a deep breath and slowly rises, grunting as the reopened wound at her side makes her bend in half a moment. Her ruined, now Kitty dressed hand presses to the wound and she takes steps forward to try to follow after the stretcher. "You're too stubborn to die. Gonna hurt though, Logan." She tries for jests but there in that steely gaze is worry, a breath releasd. She slows and looks to Kitty, swallowing as she says quietly. "Need someone to go out, clean up the remants of what that beast did. Don't need him going back to that."

Wolverine has posed:
"Fuck off," Logan growls at one of the medical staff as they help him onto the stretcher, surly about it but nevertheless letting them help. He lets out a loud, pained groan as he hefts himself onto the thing and lays down again. The flesh about his chest visibly shifting as it knits itself together, in places now fresh and pink beneath the dirt and blood.

Kitty's words draw a chuckle from him, which quickly turns into a wheezing cough. The new lung he is growing after Sabretooth destroyed the old one stings, having never tasted air before now. He splays a hand across his chest, clawing pointlessly as it.

"This," he grunts, plucking what looks to be an inch-long shard of metal from one of his wounds and dropping it to the floor - shrapnel, by the look of it, "Hngh."

"Guess we're even for that briefcase full a' gas," he mutters at Domino, before once again he lapses into unconsciousness.

Shadowcat has posed:
"Hunting him in the dark is just what he'd want you to do. Besides, you are going to be on the mend for awhile. Unless we can find Josh," Kitty says. She slips an arm about Domino to help walk her down towards the medical bay while the staff take care of Logan.

"And if a girl with wings comes near, don't let her touch you or she'll end up with your wounds," Kitty adds to Domino, and further describes Shannon to help make sure that doesn't happen. "So this was at the cabin? We'll go check it out after you two are settled," Kitty assures Domino about cleaning up what was done.

Kitty winces as she sees Logan pull out the shard of metal and then pass out. "What did happen? Ambush? I gather there was some kind of explosion?" Kitty asks. She was driving back to the school at the time so didn't hear the sounds of the fight.

Domino has posed:
Domino does not normally accept help but that Frankenstien of a stitched wound courtesy of Victor is one of several he sewed back up to make sure she lived long enough to see Logan's expression. "A lot happened. Let's just say that Sabertooth wanted to give Logan the best birthday gift...for himself. Maridpoor was a trick," she rasps out. "Not a real job. A trap. Made him pay for it though, dearly." She grins a bit at the thought and coughs, wincing as she stumbles and manages to stay on her feet.

The collar is still around Domino's neck and at this angle Kitty is likely to see the blinking light on it. The mercenary has all but forgotten about her adornment. When Logan quiets finally, her dark brows furrow with a great deal of concern. "Threatened the school, its likely how he got away...Logan was not going to wait around for him." Here they are. "He's gruff, but he loves this place and everyone here. Seems like something good must come of it since he's given to protect it. Might be something to consider. Besides, means I can keep an eye n him and his clinger of a psychopath."

Wolverine has posed:
Logan doesn't stir again on the stretcher. One arm hangs over the side, knuckles trailing just a scant few inches from the floor as blood patters against the floor. Everywhere he goes he makes a mess, it seems. The medics keep him strapped down - they know him well enough that it's probably best not to keep him unrestrained when he's in this state. He tends to act before he thinks.

His eyes flicker beneath closed lids. One side of his face looks completely clean shaven, as though he were caught midway through the act. But even now the hair is beginning to sprout anew, forming those muttonchop sideburns that are his ever-present hairstyle. As they wheel him towards the med bay, he mutters one word through the fog of unconscious sleep.

"Safe."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty frowns as she hears how extensive the situation was. She is about to say something when her eyes widen at the sight of Domino's collar. "That collar... is that a bomb collar?" she says, voice aghast.

Though Kitty doesn't wait for the answer. Not with students around. She lets go of Domino to take hold of the collar. Suddenly the feeling of it around Domino's neck is gone, and Kitty is gone with it. Woman and collar suddenly fall through the floor much like she did in coming down from the upstairs landing.
