Free Lancer has posed:
Rain threatened all night, but never showed. Now it's finally starting to sprinkle in the inky black predawn, and well proper thunderstorms now are forecast to be on their way. It clears the streets to an extent, but still the daily commute looms for more than a few. Here before the morning rush this particular little neighborhood coffee shop is quiet still, for now.

Millicent isn't waking up of course, she's winding down from a night spent protecting rich assholes. Pausing at the entrance to stow her umbrella and give it a shake, before giving the place a careful study. Shoulders rolling as she tugs after those crisply starched shirt cuffs, dramatically over dressed as is the norm of course.

She slips up into line before drawing to a pause, theres a momentary glance after her rolex before offering a soft little sigh.

Ivory has posed:
Ivory wasn't a big fan of morning rushes getting into them being up so late that others called it early, and as their endless joywalk through late night new york ended with rain, they fled into the next coffee shop, managing to get in before people woule even think of leaving their beds to get their fix of caffeine.

With so few people there, the line is like two people long, three if includign themselves, and so they line up just behind Millicent, the black jeans, a sharp contrast to the colorful converses and the bright embroidery on the back of their jeans jacket.

Free Lancer has posed:
There's a probably uncomfortably long look over at Ivory as they roll up to the line, before offering a slow nod. "Did you happen to see a forecast, hear what time the rain's to be expected?"Her tone crisp and formal, tinged with just enough of that Swiss accent to make it clear she's not from around here originally. Theres a glance up towards the counter, as another patron stumbles over their overly complicated order.

"I do apologize to be quite so foreward, but I'm afraid I've been on the clock all night. Didn't have much of an opportunity to investigate the forecast. Terribly rude of me, I know."

Ivory has posed:
Ivory tilts the head a little as they search the many pockets of the trousers for their cellphone, finally pulling out one of Stark-Tech make. "The forecast? One moment, I got to look that up myself. I don't usually look up weather..." A couple moments they look down on the phone, stabbing at the screen to get the correct thing displayed, then they offer Millicent to look at the screen. "Eh, seems like they say 'it's raining' for right now and for about the next hour, maybe two."

Free Lancer has posed:
She cranes foreward to study the screen mutely for a moment, before finally delivering a little nod. "Marvelous, thank you."Theres a little nod there, before turning away to step up to the counter. Black coffee ordered, she slips a twenty across the counter before glancing over her shoulder. "And whatever they're ordering, keep the change?"Theres a curt little nod offered to the Barrista, before moving over to leave Ivory to their order.
Debts paid she slips down the counter to the little waiting area, before leaning back against the counter. Chin lifted, shoulders back, one hand lifted to center her tie ever so gently.

Ivory has posed:
"Whatever I order?" Ivory asks, quirking an eyebrow before chuckling. "That's a dangerous proposition." they claim to Millicent before ordering a tall white chocolate moccha. Not that that would be super expensive, but they could have ordered like a bunch of coffee at once. "What keeps suits up all night?"

Free Lancer has posed:
"Fools who don't know their place, and those who want protection from them."Theres a casual little shrug there, before offering her hand over. "I'm being terribly rude again, I apologize. I'm Millicent Haller, I'm a body guard amongst other things."Theres a little smile there offered as punctuation. "and of course, you could have ordered any thing your heart desired. Debts ought to be paid in full, don't you agree?"

Ivory has posed:
A chuckle is the first response by Ivory before they take the hand and shake it, not overly strong. "Ivory Valentine. And while a debt needs to be paid in full, one can overpay them. I mean, I could have used your sentence as excuse to order a twenty buck gift card..." They chuckle more as they pull back the hand, tucking it into a pocket of their jacket.

Free Lancer has posed:
"Of course they can, and it would have resulted in an exchange of debt. Thats how ancient families avoided warfare once upon a time, exchange debt between themselves to ensure mutual security."Theres a little smirk there "Though I should think it's potentially dangerous to be in my debt, goodness knows how I'd expect such a pretty thing to pay it off."

Ivory has posed:
Ivory chuckles again at the note of ancient debts. "Oh, I thought it was a non-negotiable tradition that forces people to exchange 50 bucks in gifts to and fro." Well, a Big bang theory pun. The later part of Milli's note though raises an eyebrow. "Hmm?"

Free Lancer has posed:
Theres just a smirk there "No that'd be christmas sweater debt, or fruit cake debt."Her order is called, and she pauses to scoop up her cup. "Anywho, I've got rain to go hide from. See you around, yeah?"And well coffee collected, umbrella in hand off she goes without delay. Giving that Umbrella a moment to unfurl before, whoosh she's out've there. Of interest however beyond the retreating Millicent, is the business card left tucked in the insulating sleeve of Ivory's cup.

Ivory has posed:
A chuckle is their response as Ivory lets the other woman past to up her drink, nodding a goodbye to Millicent. "Maybe we'll see around."
As they turn to cllect their own, they lift that eyebrow again at the sight of the card tucked to the cup... odd...
