Knock Knock. Who's there
Date of Scene: 29 October 2019
Location: Andrea's Room (East Halls), Xavier's School
Synopsis: Andrea visits Jay to test the waters. The water is still cold.
Cast of Characters: Rage, Icarus

Rage has posed:
It may be a bit after midnight, but Andrea is still awake and in her sleep pajamas and t-shirt, along with her wolf slippers. She sent a text earlier to Jay to see if he was still up, and having a confirmation text that he is, she beams and ambles down the hallway to his door to give it a light knocking. She has a small notebook in her arms as well.

Icarus has posed:
When the knock comes, Jay was expecting it. He moved to the door to open it for her. No sound of a lock turning. It had been unlocked apparently. Yet instead of yelling out for her to enter, he had chosen the proper thing and opened the door like a gentleman. "Hey. C'mon in." He held the door out of the way so she could step into his room.

The room was sparse, not a lot of stuff to show personality. No pictures on the walls yet or posters. There were two acoustic and one electric guitare on racks lined against one wall.

Rage has posed:
As she arfs her way into the room, Andrea gives him a smile, then steps out of her slippers to free her feet so they won't make much more noise. She has cute painted toenails in a light blue color. "Hey, Jay." She says with a yawn. She offers him up a sleepy smile, blowing some strands of hair away from her face. "How're you doing? I'm still a bit awake annnnnd... I just wanted to see you for a bit."

Icarus has posed:
There is a small desk with a chair and a laptop open on top. It has a screen saver that is a picture of the entire Guthrie clan. He offers her the chair and moves to sit on the edge of the bed himself. "I was just finishing up some homework myself and about to crash." He was wearing a white tank top and a pair of sweat pants, feet bare.

Rage has posed:
"I should be crashing myself." Andrea says as she takes a seat in the chair, though she shifts a bit as if she had a bit of pent up energy in her. Rubbing the back of her neck, she says, "Heeeey. So.. okay, I'm going to throw this out there, and you can say No if you want." She says as she chews on her bottom lip. ".. if I was to ask out to dinner, where we can go somewhere decent and hang out, would you be okay with that? It won't be anywhere crazy expensive. It can even just be pizza and soda. But, do you want to go with me?"

Icarus has posed:
Jay considers a moment then gives a shrug. "I have no problem spending time with you. Going to dinner or a dance. Just, remember that slow thing. You like pushing the envelope a little and, I get you are joking and just like seeing me get embarassed, but it's hard on me though I try not to show it. Especially in front of Sam. Or Doug. Just keep in mind it's friends--for now. The future? Who knows."

Rage has posed:
Cheeks flushing, Andrea says, "I'm sorry. I guess I just feel 'too' comfortable and I like having a good time with you. I'm just like that with people I feel safe around. Being goofy." She rubs the back of her neck a bit in an embarrassed manner, giving her bare feet a wiggle.

Icarus has posed:
"I understand. Just sometimes maybe think about it a bit more. That's all." Jay smiles. "But the answer to the question was sure, I'd like to go out to dinner sometime."

Rage has posed:
"Okay, cool. I'll call ahead then to make sure we get something private so we don't get mobbed." Andrea says as she stubs her foot against the floor a bit. "It's a mutant friendly place but you know how it is. I still don't want people to come up and take pics of us, or get too personal."

Icarus has posed:
"I appreciate that. Don't want to be all over the tabloids myself with people theorizing when it's friendship. We get enough of that here," Jay adds, waving a hand at the ceiling to indicate the building they are in. "You'll understand if I go with wings hidden?"

Rage has posed:
Furrowing her brow, Andrea says, "We can just bake a pizza here then. Probably would be for the best. That way you can feel comfortable. Then others can come too and hang out with us if they want. Speaking of, Shannon really wants to get to know you. She's really close with Sam and I know it'd mean a lot to her. That and you both got wings and you heal, so it's something she'd have in common." She glances down at her phone as it glows in her hands, then taps the screen a few times with her thumbs slowly.

Icarus has posed:
"I keep meaning to. I know Sam thinks of her as a kid sister. Just been so swamped with all the work trying to catch up on classes here. On top of just trying to figure out my place in high school hierarchy." Another helpless shrug. "On top of..y'know. My issues."

Rage has posed:
"There isn't a hierarchy here. At least none that I've seen. I'm a Senior, so I have no problem letting my voice be heard. But, I don't think there is like a weird rank and file system here like normal school." Andrea says as she shrugs. "Unless you count the New Mutants, then there is a bit of jumbling about there, but even with that I don't pay much attention to it. I don't even know where I fit in there now."

Icarus has posed:
"There's always a hierarchy. The are kids who are more popular, those who prefer to be left alone and read in a corner, those who are the odd kids. Not by looks, just behavior. It's a school. It's the nature of teenagers. Not the level of mean kids, like at a regular school though. That's a nice change."

Rage has posed:
"I guess it's just my wolfish Alpha mentality that makes me immune to any of that. None of it phases me." Andrea says as she places her notebook on the desk. "Wrote some stuff down for you to read later." She gives a motion to it. "Just poetry, lyrics. Don't think too much into it. Wouldn't mind your opinion on it. I'm going to head to bed now. Sorry for keeping you up."

Icarus has posed:
"You didn't keep me up. Still have to finish that paper." Jay rose from the side of the bed, walking over to pick up the notebook she set down. He opened it to read a bit of the first page then glanced at her. "Thanks for sharing this. I look forward to reading them."

Rage has posed:
"Get some beauty sleep, Jay. Don't stay up all night." Andrea says as she heads for the door, rubbing the back of her neck and sliding her feet back into the slippers. "We have classes in the morning and you don't want to fall asleep in McCoy's. He'll assign double homework for the entire class."

Icarus has posed:
"Which would make it quadruple for me. Wish Ma wouldn't have sent me mid semester." Jay doesn't say he wishes she hadn't sent him at all this time. Perhaps for the first time. Maybe some sort of progress. "Promise I'll finish the paper then go to bed, much as I'd rather be reading your poetry," he says with a smile as he moves to escort her toward the door.

Rage has posed:
"If you need help, we have some amazing brainiac tutors here who can teach you just about anything. Kinda awesome when some of the student's super powers are high intellect or skill absorbtion." Andrea says as she opens the door, then turns to face him as she takes in a deep breath. "So.. good night, Jay."

Icarus has posed:
Jay opens the door the leans against it, giving her another smile. "Goodnight, Andrea. Sleep well." Then his wings shift, wrapping around her and pulling her closer to him for a hug. It's brief, not meant to be anything improper, but his arms give a squeeze even as she is held in the feathered wings.

Rage has posed:
As his wings wrap about her, Andrea feels her heart pound in her chest. She steps into him, pushing her face into his chest as she curls her arms about him tightly. She lets out a heavy breath against him as she rubs her cheek against him. She just leans into him, hugging him, not moving as she closes her eyes. She needs this.

Icarus has posed:
He'll hold her for a long moment, sensing that she needs this right now. Jay doesn't rush her or push her away. Just that long quiet time until she is ready. And when she is, then his wings will unfold from around her so she can step back again and make her exit.
