Profile

Hisoka isn't publicly known, literally at all. Upon arriving into New York from Japan via placing himself into a delivery crate and passing himself off as a custom ordered Halloween prop, he snuck off into an abandoned building to wait until it's proper time for him to head out on a quest to hunt for a magic affiliated person.

Description

Description:

A strange doll-like entity with sharp jointed blades for fingers, which are attached to his hands. Sometimes, he'd be seen with normal ball jointed arms, hands, and fingers but it won't be commonplace, given he needs his claws to defend himself with.

History

History:

During the Edo period, Hisoka and Reika got killed by a roving pack of bandits. Reika bound Hisoka's soul to hers before she died. She managed to bind their souls to the flawless doll she created for the Emperor in her dying breath which wound up being taken by the bandits, and when Hisoka woke up, he immediately acted under Reika's guidance by mercilessly slaughtering the bandits without even an iota of compassion, why would they feel compassion for the ones who killed them just so they could attempt selling the doll that was once a masterpiece? Of course, their parts were found scattered all over their camp with the doll missing with nobody being none the wiser about the existence of the living doll, because there were no witnesses

Throughout the four hundred years, they traveled the world and learnt various languages, which is why Hisoka adopted French accent, because he found it cute, also it's to ensure that people wouldn't know where they're from.

They have been through a whole lot, they have attempted to find magic wielders but haven't been successful in years of traveling, leaving behind a trail of bodies and severed parts in their wake because they attacked him out of fear. Attacking him usually means death, or being seriously maimed. While they were scrying the lands for magic wielders, they kept themselves busy by killing criminals instead of letting them go alive, acquiring a bit of urban legendary in the process.

Unfortunately, they never had much luck with finding a magika wielder, so they decided to move to United States so they may give it a try and look for magic wielders with the hopes that they'll succeed in their quest.

Personality

Personality:

Hisoka: He is the sort who follows the Pollyanna principle in spite of his fearsome appearance, he's pretty much a social butterfly and he enjoys pleasing people even though the numbers of people he has killed in the past is astronomically high, he doesn't see it as a bad thing as per his mother's teaching and influence.
He tends to follow his mother's gudiance when she needs something, and she is not always a good person. With age and experience, he knows the difference between right and wrong but he tends to prefer to dispose of repeat offenders, because it's much easier to deal with them now than later because they could easily improve themselves later on and make things much more worse for everybody in general, but that may change one day.

Reika: Hisoka's mother, she's a crass, old lady who's focused on advancing her knowledge in magic so she may try ascending into godhood so she may wage wars against gods to take over as the prime God to wipe the world of evil, and to restart the universe completely so she'd be behind the curtain with people being none the wiser about her presence. So because of her heretical goal, she usually sends him out to get to know magic users to learn something new from them, or she has Hisoka to force such information out of them.

Abilities

Claws:
His sharp claws are decorated in assortments of mythical runes, permitting him to cut through pretty much everything, barring adamantium and magic reinforced materials.

Doll Physiology:
With no organic parts with spirits possessing the body, he doesn't need eyes to see, allowing him to see in the dark, he doesn't need to breathe, he doesn't get tired, and he can swap parts for another, for example.. he can swap his massive wooden arms and hands with claws for normal ball jointed arms and hands but that doesn't happen instantly, he'd need a bit of time tearing his arms out of the sockets, swap them out, one by one, plus that'd disable his ability to cut into people, or anything so it's useless doing it in the middle of a combat, and if he had regular hands and arms, it'd be like being caught with his pants down. And he can move quicker than an average human being, twenty-two mph an hour

Ectoplasm Manipulation:
Hisoka can control the mass of black sludge-like ectoplasm inside the hollow body to ooze ectoplasmic fluids from his hollow eyesockets, mouth, the joints of his limbs, neck, etc to generate sharp, pointed spikes, tendrils, and the like. However, the limited range is one foot for spikes because of the required mass to harden them into sharp spikes. For shadowy tentacles, seven feet, but they're quite weak without much density, just enough to hold an average human down but for a superpowered being? Not much, it's also enough to hold on an object in place of his sharp claws.

Regeneration:

To a degree, his wooden arms and legs can be broken, his face and body can be torn up, etc but he wouldn't feel pain caused via physical means. Punching would knock him back but he'll regenerate from the damage wrought upon him and move on. Bullets would just tear through his hollow body and cause ricochets, tear chunks of his face and head out but he'll pull back together thanks to the writhing mass of black sludge-like ectoplasm inside his hollow body.

Skills

Climbing:
Hisoka is able to use his claws to silently climb walls and ceilings.

Deception:
Being a living doll, Hisoka can just pretend to be a lifeless doll or mannequin by going completely still while observing people by leaving his shell. Problem, people who can detect spirits would notice him, or the shell easily.

Good Student:
Hisoka is capable of learning magic spells if taught to him by his mentor, if given time. (Only can be approved by staff with a log attached.)

Multilingual:

He learnt fairly few languages, namely French and English. His home tongue is Japanese.

Resources

Magic:

He is the type who people call magic task force in, instead of people who rely on physical strength, so to fight him, one needs to use magic instead of physical prowess. Fight magic with magic and all that.

Weaknesses

Blessed Salt:
Blessed Salt blessed by priests or priestesses is quite capable of harming Hisoka.
If applied to a blunt weapon, they'd knock them out of their body and daze them for fifteen minutes, if applied to a bladed weapon, it'd cut through their body, whatever part is cut wouldn't regenerate for an IRL week.
If applied to bullets, they'd go through their body, leaving behind holes that they cannot regenerate from for an IRL week. If applied to an arrow or a bolt, it'd be stuck inside their body without them being able to pull it back out. All methods would also harm them spiritually-wise.
If they're knocked out of their body via the heavy blunt method, they only could observe whatever's happening to their body and what's being said but they cannot be seen or heard, leave alone interacting with the ofuda, unless people can sense spirits, speak to spirits, or are capable of astral travel, they'd be able to see and hear them.

Boundable:
With a bit of magic know-how, Hisoka can be bound to one's will but, of course, it wouldn't be permanent. One has to upkeep the binding spell, or otherwise, it'll be broken. (To ensure that I'll have something to do instead of waiting on that person to return if they become extremely inactive.)

No Resources:
Being a monster looking type, he's unable to hold a normal, stable job so he's poor.

Paper Talisman:

Since he's of Japanese origin, ofuda (Which paper talisman, or prayer paper is actually called) would easily act like a seal to keep him out, or if it's placed on his body, it'd banish souls from the body until it's removed.

Once that's done, they only could observe whatever's happening to their body and what's being said but they cannot be seen or heard, leave alone interacting with the ofuda, unless people can sense spirits, speak to spirits, or are capable of astral travel, they'd be able to see and hear them. They're pretty much anchored to the body.
