A shy, quiet young man, Leander Lawson is a Computer Science major, living the ramen lifestyle. A native of Gotham, he managed to live a relatively normal life until he suffered what his parents called a 'nervous breakdown' at the start of his sophomore year at college. He seems to be mostly back to normal now though, pulling some pretty decent grades.

Standing somewhere in the region of six feet tall, he's on the cusp of manhood, though he's still got a slightly boyish quality about him. He looks to be somewhere in his late teens or very early twenties, with a long-limbed frame just built up enough to be described as slender, rather than lanky. His movements are limber and graceful, but understated, not attempting to draw attention.
Leander's hair is dark and worn relatively long in a tousled, choppy style with bangs that threaten to cover his eyes were he not constantly sweeping them out of the way. His features have a statuesque quality about them, with large, dark eyes and a sculpted jaw and cheekbones. A long, straight nose is set above a pair of full lips, their tendency to turn downward at the corners lending a slightly somber quality. His skin is pale, with a clear, youthful complexion.
As far as style goes, his choices tend to be fairly conservative, current without being noticeably trendy. He generally tends towards good quality, basic pieces in monochromatic colours. Born in Gotham to middle class parents, Leander Lawson had something of an easy time growing up. His father is a property developer and his mother writes for a woman's magazine, giving hair and makeup tips to bored housewives. Coming from a stable, happy family had it's advantages and Leander enjoyed a reasonably privileged upbringing as a result.
He was noted from an early age to be a quiet and thoughtful young man and although he always had a close group of friends at school, he was never one of the super cool, popular kids, preferring to stick to the sidelines where he could. He was an above average student in most subjects, though his true talent lay in anything to do with computers for which he seemed to have an almost intuitive knack and he was recognized as something of a prodigy.
Leander graduated High School near the top of his class and went on to College to study Computer Science. His mutant abilities awakened during the start of his sophomore year at college, causing him to have a near nervous breakdown as his brain quickly became overloaded with the sheer amount of data it was receiving at once. It took several months in near complete isolation at a remote woodland location before he had the mental discipline to block out most of the flood of raw data and return to his studies.
His parents passed it off as a minor nervous breakdown brought about by excessive stress from his studies, not terribly comfortable with the idea of having a mutant in the family. It didn't hurt their relationship too badly; they're east coast liberals, after all, but more than anything they like to make sure there is no scandal brought up at social engagements, or among their Friends at the golf club.
Leander continues working his way through college, eschewing his parents money for small jobs he could pick up between classes, or little freelance bits of coding or web design. He continued to hone his abilities over the next few years and, due to his enhanced ability to absorb and process data, his studies became something of a breeze. He's even picked up a few little skills on the side, finding that the occasional theft, hack or piece of espionage pays a lot better than waiting tables at the local diner.

He's not usually one to speak unless he has something to contribute and will likely not push his point of view in the face of conflicting opinion, preferring harmony to being right.
Patient - Wise men say only fools rush in, and Leander is a fairly good student of his advice. Meticulous in planning and surgical in execution, he's not one to risk everything in an all or nothing attempt, preferring to bide his time and act when things are in his favor. Leander hates surprises and likes to ensure he has all the necessary data and information to hand before proceeding, planning things in fine detail before committing to a course of action.
Envy - It doesn't always make sense, having come from a relatively privileged background, but Leander can be guilty of feeling a little jealous of those who he perceives as having an easier time than him, or of getting things handed to them on a plate. Using the Electromagnetic field he is able to project around his body, Leander has the power to interface with computers and IT networks, allowing him to download and gather information. Leander can manipulate data, allowing him to collect information about most businesses and organizations and their operations and do amazing things to or inside computers, such as hacking and manipulating computer programs.
ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD
Able to project a limited electromagnetic field around his body, Leander has mastered the art of creating a swirling, slicing hell of knives, shuriken or whatever other sharp metal objects may be at hand around himself. It's limited in range, extending at most a foot in any given direction. It may also help to slow or misdirect incoming attacks from metallic objects such as blades and bullets, though it's not powerful enough to halt them altogether and is draining to maintain.
ELECTROMAGNETIC VISION
Leander is able to view the entire electromagnetic spectrum and can "tune" his vision to interpret the various ranges of the energy. He is able to perceive radio waves, radar, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, power waves, x-rays, gamma rays, and even cosmic rays. He also has limited night-vision and thermo-vision. Leander can also see the energy flowing through power lines and technological objects and can tell if they are active or not as well as being able to tell if a radio transmitter is 'on' and if it is sending signals.

Leander Lawson can switch from one motion to another effortlessly and gracefully, effectively dodge attacks, swing from things easily, sprint, do back-flips and numerous other gymnastic, athletic and martial maneuvers with little effort. While not supernaturally so, Leander possesses agility far in excess of what the average human would be capable of.
