On 9 November 2003, Gozer the Gozarian allowed the Ghostbusters to choose the form of their destructor. Dr. Ray Stanz couldn't help it, he tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something he loved from his childhood. Something that could never, ever possibly destroy them. Mr. Stay-Puft...

This accidental choice resulted in Gozer being manifest in the form of a 30-metre tall homicidal marshmallow man bent on destroying the Ghostbusters and New York. Passing through Columbus Circle towards the Shandor Building, Mr. Stay-Puft stepped on the church next door, before scaling 55 Central Park West.

After the Ghostbusters tried to blast him with their Proton Packs, Stay Puft caught on fire and nearly roasted the Ghostbusters. The foursome then decided to cross the streams to transfer the particle flow through the gateway, and when they did this, Stay Puft arrived at the top. The Temple of Gozer and Stay Puft blew up. Marshmallow residue rained down all over the street, hitting thousands of citizens.

Taking out the top three floors of the uptown high-rise, the Ghostbusters ended up getting sued by every state, county and city agency in New York.

Five years later in 2008, a Psychomagnetheric Slime Mould forms around the Manhattan Museum of Art, while more than 3,000 manifestations related to the Slime terrorised New York.

Called back into action, the Ghostbusters suit and animate the Statue of Liberty with positively charged Psychomagnetheric Slime. Lady Liberty was able to destroy a portion of the Slime Wall, enabling the Ghostbusters to enter the museum, where they fought Vigo von Homburg Deutschendorf, also known as Scourge of Carpathia, Sorrow of Moldavia, Vigo the Carpathian, Vigo the Cruel, Vigo the Torturer, Vigo the Despised, Vigo the Unholy... once again, the Ghostbusters came, they saw, they kicked his ass.

Six years later, in 2014, Dr. Erin Gilbert, Dr. Jillian Holtzmann, Dr. Abigail Yates, and Patty Tolan were conducting their own independent paranormal investigations and eliminations, eventually coming to the attention of Dr. Ray Stanz, who invited them to meet and tour the firehouse.

The original team of Ghostbusters were well into their work and looking for additional support. It did not take long for the two teams to merge together and now operate as one cohesive, inclusive, unit.

Characters from the series are appable as AFCs, FCs, and VFCs.
