Profile
The Red Lantern Corps' origin is that of tragedy, loss, and rage. When nearly all life in Sector 666 was annihilated by the Manhunters, five of the survivors harnessed their collective rage. These five beings, today known as "the Five Inversions", used their rage to create a Red Power Battery and summon the first Red Lantern Power Rings. By utilising the energy of rage and loss, they began to recruit others to their cause. These recruits are quickly engulfed by the flame of the Red Lantern Corps. Consumed, filled, and bound by the very fire or rage, Red Lanterns protect the Corps, Sector 666, and their individual homeworlds, in that order.
Supplementary Abilities
Rage Empowermen
The Red Lantern Ring's base of power, rage, can be manipulated by the ring user. A Red Lantern can detect the rage in the heart of others. The rage and hatred of an individual Red Lantern empowers their abilities as well as the rage and hatred of others.
Rage Plasma
The Red Lanterns can vomit plasma, which has been described as napalm and acid mixed together. It burns away at almost anything. These flames even burn in space. It has the effect of burning through an energy aura of an opponent as well as corrupting other power rings, depleting them at an accelerated rate, and greatly weakening the structures they create.
Will Corruption
The red light of rage can corrupt the aura of a Green Lantern, draining their ring of power. This is dependent on the Green Lantern's ability to "understand", "accept", and "control" their rage.
Supplementary Weaknesses
Hope Influence
The Blue light of hope can extinguish the red flame and weakens a Red Lantern.
Love Influence
Love can be fatal to a Red Lantern. Being the opposite of anger, any Red Lantern who feels love for another being will immediately be rejected by their ring.
