The Violet Lantern Corps, or Star Sapphires as they are sometimes known, utilise the violet light of love. From the planet Zamaron in sector 1416, they fashion parasitic crystals into "star sapphires", similar to power rings, and replenish it with the Violet Lantern Central Power Battery. These Star Sapphires empower those who have been loved, and ultimately, spurned, or otherwise seen love slip from their grasp.
Supplementary Abilities
Avarice Immunity
True love is not affected by avarice, thus Orange Lantern Power Rings cannot absorb the energy from a Violet Lantern Ring.
Crystallisation
A Violet Lantern has the unique power to crystallise others with the power of love. This power is not fully understood, but they apparently put the victim in a form of suspended animation. The power is great enough to crystallise an entire planet for a limited time.
Note: Crystallisation requires staff approval.
Rage Immunity
As rage is the opposite of love, their violet light is unaffected by it, in fact it can shut down a Red Power Ring, if the wielder of it is made to feel love.
