The interaction between vampires and metahumans is tricky. Different powers can affect vampires differently, or influence how vampirism affects the metahuman. It is difficult to make hard and fast rules for this. In most cases, superpowered humans, if they are able to be infected (and there are reasons some can't, like invulnerable skin, etc.) lose their metahuman abilities, reverting to their base human form as the curse purges them of any enhancements and overlays it's own (with their blood-powered costs).

Strangely, mutants are one of the few enhanced human sub-types that retain some of their abilities, but their mutation is further mutated to fit the paradigm of their vampiric curse and its cost. Invulnerability is still bypassed by silver, sunlight, and fire. Regeneration still cannot save a vampire from being stabbed through the heart with silver or wood, or if they lose their head. Other powers, be it transformation, energy projection, super-strength, etc. are now fuelled by blood itself and using them (beyond the natural vampiric ability the cursed has) burns through their blood reserve at a much faster rate, meaning they have to feed that much more frequently as well.

Some powers can outright kill a new mutant vampire before they even realise it. For example, a mutant that can project ultraviolet light, fire, or take on a silver form. They are still vulnerable to these effects.

Vampirism is a curse. It isn't all masquerade balls and seduction. It has a price.
