Profile

Razer is a member of the Red Lanterns Corps. He is often relied on for setting traps or utilizing explosives for the Corps. His rage is so strong, he has actually been able to use his powers when a Blue Lantern is near. There's a reason for that but it isn't something he realizes. Deep down, there is more than meets the eye but he tends to keep people at arm's length, so they don't learn that.

This is a young man who is probably in his early twenties. He is humanoid but not human. He is a Volkregian. His features are a bit angular. His skin is pale white. His eyes are blue but the pupil is grey instead of black as with humans. Dark lines outline his eyes, giving them an almond shape. There are two curved lines marking his face, starting just below his eye and angling down to disappear beneath his cowl. Three vertical lines run from his lower lip downward, also disappearing into the cowl. He is usually wearing his Red Lantern uniform, colored in black and red, with the Red Lantern symbol prominently displayed on his chest.

History

Born on the planet Volkreg, Razer started out his life as a scientist and mathematician. He married young to his true love, Ilana. They were happy for the most part but his world tended to be a violent place, with many warlords vying for control. In time, that violence was coming closer and closer. Razer chose to join the militia to fight, to try to protect those who could not protect themselves. His wife did not wish him to go. He did anyway.

He was with the militia for quite some time, learning to use his skills in a different way, focusing on explosives. He learned how to fight with weapons and without. When the threat to his home was over, he left the militia.

Upon his return to his home, he found Ilana dead, despite all his attempts to protect her with his support of the militia. The rage he felt at losing her was what drew the Red Lantern ring to him. He was offered a place among them and he accepted.

Among the Red Lanterns, his skills were used to help in their hunt for those that they considered evil. His rage was strong, and he became a powerful Lantern although he differed from his brethren in a lot of ways. There was still something deep in his heart that differed from them on a fundamental level, though he did his best to hide it. Yet his anger and hatred could not be questioned.

At one point, he worked with a Green Lantern named Hal Jordan to help protect a planet against slavers. This was his first dealing with a Green Lantern personally. He had a prejudiced viewpoint against other Lanterns. Upon this meeting, he learned that he might not have learned the entire truth and they became allies. Not friends. But he doesn't want to kill him on sight at least.

On the surface, Razer is an angry young man. He doesn't let many people in to find out about him, preferring to keep them at arm's length. He is quite intelligent, although many don't recognize that fact. Deeper beneath that surface though, he is a man who is in great pain. He lost the love of his life and mourns her still as he has never moved beyond the anger stage of the grieving process. He isn't a bad man and actually has hope that the world will someday be a place free of the type of violence that took his love from him. He doesn't really have friends though if he would let someone in, he would be loyal and true, someone they could count on for anything. His biggest challenge is not giving anyone a chance so that he can try to protect himself from more pain.

COMMUNICATION
The Lantern ring will act as a long-range communicator. With it, they can hear and speak with other Lanterns, even if they are on the other side of the galaxy.

EMERGENCY BACKUP
This can only be used once in a 24-hour period and requires the ring to be recharged before this ability can be used again.

ENERGY CONSTRUCTS
By tapping into his personal Rage, Razer is able to create constructs made out of red energy. However, Reds are not as adept at this as the other colors since their emotion is mostly uncontrolled. It is reflected in their constructs since they are generally more simplistic instead of complicated. For Razer, he probably could create more complicated ones due to his being fitting for more than one color ring. However, he generally never does. Offensively, Razer prefers to make whips of power which can reach up to fifty feet away from him. They can be used to slash, cut, force impact or even wrap up someone. He can also fire off blasts of red energy against foes. These would be strong enough to knock Superman for a loop and their strength level is around Captain Marvel levels.

ENVIRONMENT
With the use of the ring, a Lantern can create an artificial atmosphere allowing them to breathe and survive even in an inhospitable climate. For a methane breather, this would allow them to survive on an Earth type atmosphere and vice versa. This can be about twenty feet in all directions from the Lantern.

FORCE FIELDS
This force field can withstand both physical and energy attacks, plus the ring also protects its wearer from other effects, such as a vacuum, high speeds in an atmosphere, and radiation. Its strength can withstand blows from Superman for brief intervals.

INFORMATION
Like the Green Lanterns, the Ring can act as an information database. Unlike the Green Lanterns, theirs is not as filled with helpful information. It only contains information Atrocitus finds necessary for them to complete their work and nothing more. So, while they may have some limited information, and perhaps details on targets they have been sent after, they won't be able to pull out tons of information like a Green.

LANGUAGES
The ring acts as a translator for the Lantern. While using it, the people they are speaking with will hear their own tongue. The Lantern themselves may not know the language but the ring handles all the work for them. This only works on known languages. Encountering a new species, it would take time for the ring to compensate and learn the new language.

RAGE EMPOWERMENT
The Red Lantern Ring's base of power, rage, can be manipulated by the ring user. A Red Lantern can detect the rage in the heart of others. The rage and hatred of an individual Red Lantern empowers their abilities as well as the rage and hatred of others. This will work within 100 feet.

RAGE PLASMA
The Red Lanterns can vomit plasma, which has been described as napalm and acid mixed together. It burns away at almost anything. These flames even burn in space. It has the effect of burning through an energy aura of an opponent as well as corrupting other power rings, depleting them at an accelerated rate, and greatly weakening the structures they create. The range for this power is around 50 feet.

TRAVEL
While in an atmosphere, Lanterns is only able to fly at speeds which don't damage a planet's atmosphere. This translates into moving at approximately Superman's speeds in an atmosphere. In space, Red Lanterns can travel past light speed, and travel through wormholes in space to attain massive speeds or traveling intergalactic distances in short periods of time.

WILL CORRUPTION

The red light of rage can corrupt the aura of a Green Lantern, draining their ring of power. This is dependent on the Green Lantern's ability to "understand", "accept", and "control" their rage. (OOC Note: Consent based)

COMBAT
On his homeworld, Razer was trained with the militia to help combat the Warlords battling for rule of his planet. He learned how to fight with and without weapons. He is a good marksman with energy weapons, able to hit even moving targets. He excelled with the sword and shield, becoming an expert. He could take on high level opponents and make a good showing. His best skill though was hand-to-hand, one of the best there is on his home planet. While not officially a martial art, there was a form of combat that was practiced on his home planet in which he learned the top levels.

MUNITIONS
As a member of the militia on his home world, Razer learned how to use explosives of all types. He is an expert in the ability to set charges, the right amount for the right effect. He can destroy a building or just blow up a single room without damaging the one next door. This can be done remotely or with a trigger of some type like a trip wire or pressure switch. He learned to apply this even more when he became a Red Lantern.

NAVIGATION
Thanks to his scientific background, Razer is able to apply this to navigation through space. While most rely on computers to calculate jump points for wormholes in space when traveling by ship, should those computers fail, Razer is able to do so by hand. It may take a few minutes but it can be done and with a high level of accuracy.

SCIENCE
Razer was a scientist and physicist on his home planet before he joined the militia. He understands complex theories and can do advanced mathematics with ease. These are not areas he uses a lot these days but they are there should it become needed

TECHNOLOGY

Razer is highly skilled in the use of computers and technology. He can generally use high level tech, though something he is not familiar with may take a bit of a learning curve.

ALLIES
Razer has made a few allies during his time as a Red Lantern. One of these is Hal Jordan, a Green Lantern. They worked together to help save a planet in the past and he has a grudging respect for the human. Additionally, he has met Saint Walker and, while the brother has a way of driving him insane, Razer does consider him an ally as well and one he might call on in a time of great need.

POWER BATTERY
Razer has a portable power battery that he uses to recharge his ring. He has to place his ring against the Lantern and repeat the Red Lantern Oath for the recharge to happen. The process is painful, unlike when most of the other rings are recharged. He has to use this Battery once every 48 hours at the least, more often if he has been using a lot of energy.

RED LANTERNS
As a member of the Red Lanterns Corps, Razer can call upon his fellow Lanterns for support or resources as needed. They aren't the friendliest bunch however, they can be relied on to help a fellow Red.

TECH
Due to his position as a munition expert, Razer always has these items available to him. He doesn't generally carry them on his person, but he does have the ability to get them if he needs them. He has caches of explosives in a variety of places around the galaxy though his main stores are with the Red Lanterns Corps.

WEAPONS

Razer is never without weapons. This is referring to when he does not have his Ring specifically. With his ring, he simply creates what he wants as outlined in his abilities. Without the rings, he tends to carry a bit of an arsenal of bladed weapons hidden on his person at all times.

ENERGY USAGE
The Rage that powers Razer's ring comes from a Lantern that must be recharged at least once every 48 hours. Thankfully, the Red Lantern's personal rage is enough to help fuel the ring, but it cannot power the ring alone. It has to be boosted with the Lantern to stay at optimum levels. As he uses power, the ring begins losing its charge. The more use or more powerful the usage, the faster the ring will run out of power. When it does that, he is returned to his powerless state. Additionally, to charge his ring, he has to be able to speak the Oath for the process to be completed. If he cannot speak, he cannot recharge.

HOPE INFLUENCE
The Blue light of hope can extinguish the red flame and weakens a Red Lantern. Razer has learned his abilities are quickly gone when he is around a Blue Lantern, reducing him to his powerless state. Most of the time. However, though he hasn't learned it yet, he is one of the rare cases who could have been chosen for a Blue Power Ring because deep inside, he has great hope. Thus, despite the limitations usually on Reds, he has managed to use his powers even when an entire landscape was bathed in Blue Lantern light. However, this has only happened once or twice and is not the normal outcome at all.

LOVE INFLUENCE
Love can be fatal to a Red Lantern. Being the opposite of anger, any Red Lantern who feels love for another being will immediately be rejected by their ring. However, it is not fatal to Razer in this way. His ring will remain with him, despite feeling love, mainly because he is one of those individuals who could have been selected by other colors of rings and not just Red. If his love is enough to cause him to lose his righteous anger that qualified him to be a Red Lantern in the first place, then it is possible for him to lose his Red power ring and thus his powers.

LOVE LOST
Razer lost his wife tragically. They argued before they parted, him choosing to support the militia on their planet against her will. By the time he returned, his precious Ilana was dead. He blames himself fully for this. The rage at losing her is what brought him to the attention of the Red Lanterns. Even the Star Sapphires consider him a lost cause, an empty shell now that he lost his true love.

PERSONAL RAGE
It should come as no surprise that Razer has a lot of rage. This is both a good and bad thing. Rage is what powers his ring. If he did not have his rage, if he was somehow blocked from that emotion, he would not have any powers. Additionally, because he has so much anger, it is difficult to get to know him at all. He tends to keep people at arm's length. He also has a hot temper which means he can go from zero to sixty in an instant.

PRAGMATIC
Some might consider Razer a pessimist but that isn't quite right. He is more pragmatic, taking what he considers a realistic view of the world. He isn't a true pessimist as there is still Hope down in there somewhere, hidden behind all the anger and bluster. It's just really hard to find it most of the time as he doesn't like to give any sign of weakness.

RING DEPENDENCE

Without his ring, Razer is a regular man. Though he is physically skilled, it doesn't make him any less vulnerable than another mortal being. He will not take off his ring unless absolutely necessary. If an opponent can manage to remove his ring, they can take away his powers immediately.
