- International Relations: The United Nations respects the sovereignty of the Savage Land, and seeks to prevent the plundering of its resources. Canada, Chile, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States have performed expeditions to the Savage Land under Ka-Zar's permit. S.H.I.E.L.D. has maintained bases within and nearby the Savage Land to help police the area. The activist group Gaea is among those who have campaigned for the Savage Land to remain autonomous from the outside world. The Avengers, Fantastic Four, Justice League, and X-Men have often defended the Savage Land from external menaces.
- History: The Savage Land is a tropical jungle that is hidden in Antarctica. There are many types of races, and mutations occur frequently due to high levels of radiation. The United Nations considers the Savage Land an international wildlife preserve, and forbids any commercial exploitation of its resources.
