The first thing one notices when looking at this young woman is her shy demeanor and her long, straight brown hair. A petite 5'4", she pointedly avoids looking directly at people, focusing mostly on their footwear when she speaks with them. Tara is slim, but with a chubbiness about her face that would lead one to believe she used to be plumper and high cheekbones that make her facial features more pronounced when she shows them. Tara has inquisitive, gentle blue eyes that are only sometimes veiled by hair falling into her face.

This young lady is not the sort of person most would term athletic, thin without any real muscle on her frame, and with a fairly average figure she typically does her best to hide. She distinctly seems to prefer outfits that meld into the background to accentuate her wallflower appearance.

History

Tara did not have a very pleasant childhood. Her father and brother were both very abusive toward her verbally and she did not have many friends when she was young. She had a positive relationship with her mother but it was tainted by the fact that her mother was a witch and she was told by her father that their family line had been descended from demons.

Raised to believe she would someday be a terrible monster Tara began learning magic from a young age as it was known she would someday inherit a great deal of power and she was supposed to try to be prepared for it. She was also keeping an eye for a way to fix that curse so she could remain human.

Tara's mother died when she was seventeen and she started staying out all night and lying to her father. She moved out without even telling her family as soon as she got the opportunity and went to live in the dorms at UC Sunnydale.

Tara is a dedicated, quiet individual who studies and fantasizes about all the things she might do if she felt up to interacting with others. Shes' a bit of a dreamer but hopes to make those dreams happen under her own merits with study. With a traditionally 'nerdy' personality and a silly, understated sense of humor most people never really get to meet the Tara hidden underneath the stutter and textbooks. She loves deeply, however, and doesn't hesitate to help a friend.

DIVINATION
Tara is an accomplished diviner. She is capable of clairsentience (projecting your senses to another place), oneiromancy, and could find a spell for astral projection were there a need.

EVOCATION
Tara knows a fairly large number of spells for evoking the elements: fire to light candles, creating clouds of fog. She can conjure flames for combat as well as water, bursts of light, electricity, and raw kinetic force.

GLAMOURS
Altering how objects are perceived by any of the senses. This is simple magic and disguising minor features like eye or hair color is a trivial task. Bigger glamours become exponentially harder as one tries to disguise something to all of the senses. Tara would have to work carefully to be sure it was complete.

KINETOMANCY
Tara is quite experienced in manipulating objects from afar using her mind. Currently her weight limits alone are around thirty to forty pounds though this could quickly increase with training. She can handle perhaps a small handful of objects at once and can also levitate herself despite weighing more than her usual limits.

MAGICAL AWARENESS
Tara is very keen when it comes to sensing magic and supernatural entities around her. Spirits and unusual spells are frequently noticed- and then revealed, if need be, through magic.

RITUAL MAGIC

Ability to perform powerful spells and rituals ranging from the finding, summoning, binding, and warding of things ranging from objects to demons or spirits. Conjuration, or creating things from nothing, is usually done this way as well. This typically requires gestures, chants, candles, or other preparations, often unique to the spell. The more complex the spell the more difficult the casting, but if she can find the spell and read it Tara can probably cast it or lead the appropriate ritual. It doesn't necessarily make it a good idea and she does not have the power to follow through on world-altering levels of magic.

MAGICAL EDUCATION
Tara has been learning magic from a young age. She is extremely well-taught in addition to being a quick study and very intuitive. Tara can easily find rituals of which many witches have never even heard.

MUNDANE EDUCATION
Though Tara only has a high school education she is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about a wide variety of Academic issues. She knows a number of languages dead and living as well as advanced research techniques.

STRATEGIC

Tara has a cool head and tends to make good decisions under pressure. She's methodical and can usually think up a solution if the tools are on hand.

Tara has a decent collection of magical volumes including some rare ones. She hasn't got a library but it's not bad for a girl who lives in a dorm.

SCOOBY GANG

While not completely integrated Tara is a Scooby and privy to meetings and also their aid in investigations or when in distress. She is quickly coming to regard them as family.

DEMONIC HERITAGE
Tara believes herself to have Demonic heritage and be doomed to be come a monster. This isn't true but gives rise to a host of psychological issues and might cause her to do things she ordinarily would not.

INEXPERIENCE
Though Tara is knowledgeable she doesn't necessarily know what will come of wielding so much power. Experience is important for informing judgment and she has yet to have any outside the academic.

SHY

Tara has trouble speaking up for or asserting herself and so is easily railroaded into things she might not otherwise do. Frequently people just forget she is even present unless she has a reason to make herself known.
