Superman has posed:
Whether they are signaled to be here, or ill-fated happenstance, something stirs in the deep recesses in space. A small inhuman spark of life leads to thoughts. Thoughts lead to questions. And those questions cause a stirring. Simple twitches of a life renewed. That renewed life spreads to other forms. All with the same thoughts in mind. A high mind at work spreading from one to another and another. No one can count the amount in this small group. Their eyes scan what is near and far and destination reveals itself. Something rich in resources. Inhabitants call it Earth (or Terra).

That's how it all begins. A small bright spot against clear blue skies. Most would think it's a weather balloon, something like that. Some may call to shoot it down, most would probably ignore it. And they do, until it gets larger. When those objects between to grow that's bring out the fear, the staring and every other reaction. The objects don't really slow down. That's when everything turns to fear.

A screeching noise fills the air of the city as the objects come down. A streak of fire and smoke trail follow them with a "CRRRRRRRRRCCCHHHHHHHHH" before a thunderous, "BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!"

Windows crack, and break, from the sound. Car alarms scream and wail from the impact. Rock and earth spits up as they create a crater. Silence follows the wake of chaos and destruction. Questions rise in the stillness. Curiosity blossoms for some and when the smoke flowing from the crater starts to clear, they try to take a look. Screams fill the air as metal tendril like cables reach out and pull the onlookers into the hole. "AHHHHHHHHHH!" "OOOOOOOOOHHHH GOOOD!" "HELLLLLPPP!" are amongst the first cries. All filled with the same type of fear.

Metal bites into the earth as the cause of everything begins to pull itself up into view. A figure with a mostly red emerges. Most of the body is a rich dark red, accents of a bright cherry start at the waist then crawl up the stomach and chest before they curl around below the neck. The neck area is silver before going to the actual neck where the dark red returns. That red curls around into a helm that covers everything except the face, which is the same silver as the neck. The boots and gloves are a metallic evil a bright blue similar to questionable supermarket chains, At various points the color's scraped away to reveal silver. Wear and tear from being dormant in space.

"No one escapes the Manhunters," the first entity declares in a robotic voice. "Prepare for detainment," extending an arm, blue tendrils extend for the arm looking for another victim. To those that know, these are Manhunters. Oa's failed attempt at justice before the Green Lantern's creation. Automatons, robots, whatever the term people wish to use, apply.

Another Manhunter emerges, this one mostly silver with small smatterings of color. "Crush rebellion. Non one escapes the Manhunters," and people run screaming. It's clear more are in the hole. The screams continue for a few moments from those in the hole, but it's hard to figure this out because of everyone else around.

Welcome to order coming to chaos, in the Manhunter's mind.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane is in full costume, her classic green attire. She's not really professional superhero material although she is currently scouting out potential new residents of Genosha when she sees the the flaming objects shooting down from the sky. Okaay, that's definitely not normal, and before she can do anything about it, she sees them crashing into the ground below.

Equal parts curious and cautious, she flies in for a closer look and is quite horrified at what she sees transpiring. What greets her is a scene out of a horror movie and she is already tapping her com badge, requesting backup before she lands in front of them, emerald eyes narrow.

But there are so many of them, can she possibly put a stop to this or make a dent in their numbers before real damage is done? Hearing screams from the hole! Polaris makes her way towards the crater, towards those being dragged to their apparent deaths. Teeth gritted, she reaches out with her magnetokesis, attempting to fend apart the metallic tendrils that reach out and drag the people to their deaths, With her other hand she focuses a pulse blast at whatever swarm she finds inside, trying to separate them from their human captives as much as she can.
Firestar has posed:
An unfamiliar form flies through the skies. The red hair, green eyes, and figure would be a give away were she wearing the yellow, orange, and red. Tonight her outfit is decidedly different and Firestar is out flying just to wind down from a long day. Aimed towards the ocean, she pull up short.

Seeing the sky fall as it were, she watches the trail, estimates the point of impact, and then flies where the math points. Close to the ground, she streaks ovver the distance much faster than if she stayed higher up.

She blasts through the area once to assess the threat and then rises into a lazy arch, turning towards the scene unfolding. She dives back into the thick of things, masers jumping from her hands to blast into the ones that Lorna hasn't engaged yet.
Superman has posed:
Those streaks of fire can pull anyone far and wide. Lorna does manage to make it to the crator and people aren't paying attention to her until the powers lash out to the tendrils. The set going toward another victim that are suddenly stopped. Metallic heads turn looking toward her. A second later that pulse wave goes out. Two go down and their eyes wink out. Hard to say if this is temporary, or not.

That's when something push out of the crator. IT's a person. their fingers no longer bleed from the scraps as both hands are metal. One hand the metal goes up to the forearm. The other nearly goes up the whole arm. Bits of metal and flesh sprawl over them.

The Manhunters would call this "unfinished" however, it would do. As they start to take swings at Lorna.

And there's another unfamiliar form flying through the air. A sea of reds, yellows and oranges. She sees the trail. Then the fire rains down onto two more units. A third manages to get out of the way. Raising a hand a purple-pink colored laser goes off toward Firestar. The unit is trying to bring her down.

"No one escapes," and thats when two more "unfinished" fly toward Lorna.

It's apparent to the ladies what's happening. They're converting people. These machines are kidnapping people and turning them into Manhunters or some human-robot Manhunter hybrid. This is the sight greeting the world thanks to internet, cell phones and sudden reports.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane narrows her eyes as something different comes out of the crater. They start retaliating and of course she is easy for this, bringing up her shield to defend against the onslaught although her gaze is focused on the first 'unfinished'

"The hell are these things..?" she mutters, lowering her shield to make a fist with her hands, attempting to metalkinetically 'pick up' as many robots as she can in the air then to try and slam them together like string puppets.

"Back off!" she snarls.
Firestar has posed:
A shot fired at the red head is evaded, just barely. She feels the proverbial heat as it passes. She barrel rolls and then twists into a better position to return the fire.

No time for a close study, Angelica flies up and in the direction of Lorna. She blasts one that might have been planning to attack from behind. She flies past and tells her,"We're going to have to establish a perimeter. Can you make a dome around you and others, something that expands to push these things back from people and you?"
Quake has posed:
"Sure, my night off, and SHIELD has a citywide emergency.. that wasn't this. So who gets pulled in? Skye, that who. And only because I was in the neighbourhood. My dinner is going to be cold, dammit!"

She ran down the allerway that opens onto the fairways of the park. And what she saw was devastating.

"This isn't the emergency? Whattheeverlovinfuck?!? Does SHIELD actually know what they have here?" Looking around she tries to find the person in charge. No sense two people being in charge. "Hey you?" To Lorna. "What's happening? Who's in charge?"

All the while she decides that gunplay is probably not going to do anything for these 'bots'. So far, Skye hasn't put two and two together and realized that people are being changed into these robots. Which will add a ethical problem all on it's own.
Superman has posed:
Loran can grab parts of the metal. Some of these alloys haven't been used. It screams not of EArth origin. So, she may strain a little. Something to figure out and adapt to alter for sure. Still, she can grab certain things. Enough to lift and cause ddamage. Just not crush like she could with Earth based bots.

The unifinished bash against the shield as they're trying to break through. Thens he is able to toss them aside and try to pick up others.

Blasts continue to streak at Angelica. Then she blasts one of the beings coming up behind Lorna. This clears her up to do the lifting and tossing actions.

There is an unknown amount of people in the crator, but would the heroes just beat them. Or would they try to help the victims.

And while she is trying to put two things together, metal tendrils lash out at Skye. One wraps around her ankle the another at differnt points of the arm. Lorna could easily pull them away from her. These may help her understand the trouble everyone's in since they begin to pull her toward the crater. Oh, that's not good.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane grits her teeth, a bit too busy to answer Skye's general inquiry. She strains a little as she finds these robots aren't completely metallic, but it's hopefully enough for the people to flee from their clutches.

She does her best to blast at the robots still attacking humans and focuses more on them as well as the tendrils snagging at Skye before Firestar makes a suggestion.

Polaris hardly has time to question her, but she has seen Firestar in action long enough to know she's good at what does. Giving a shirt nod, she lifts her arms high, glowing with bright green energy. "Everyone come towards me if you want to live!"

And assuming they listen she will summon a green protective dome around them, doing her best to push out the robots, although it's a strain and brings her to one knee with everything going on..
Firestar has posed:
Angelica starts to use her power to pick at the robots, then studies their positions. Up, over the dome that Polaris forms, she aims a thin maser blast at the edge of the magnetic field.

She snorts softly as the beam splits into three beams and angles away from the shield towards the robots. A slight grimace when one beam almost hits a person, but it misses and she nods,"Calculations hold." she mutters looks to make sure she strafes those chasing humans directly.

This all done still moving and not maintaining an obvious course. Dips, dives, twists..looking for all the world like she is dancing in the air.
Quake has posed:
Hell NO!

As the metal bits grab onto her, Skye focuses down to the subparticle of them, and 'freezes' them into place, so that they can't tug on her. Then she closes and opens her fingers exploding into shrapnel that immediately drops to the ground.

Then she envelopes herself into a shield - sort of like a bubble.

Apparently no one was in charge. Great. And furthermore, it isn't very likely that someone could take charge quite yet. And the magnetics were a good counter for her vibrational power. She can stay away from Lorna and use her abilities, or..
Superman has posed:
People in the area will rush toward Polaris. Although those with the "enhancements," are now. They're moving toward them trying to stop Lorna from doing what she's doing. Sadly, the group doesn't have the offensive capabilities to make a few shots.

The positions don't seem to be in a defensive position. This is a divide and conquerer. The robots will begin to melt under Firestar's blasts. And while she does almost hit someone, they're safe. Actually, the heat doesn't freak them out thanks to everything else.

The tendrils going around Skye freeze She's able to get out and create a shield. Now, it's up to them to work as a team. With Lorna focusing, she creates the shield which the robots don't want to touch. However, there are three units up, and they begin to do a focus fire. Trying to break open a spot in the shield to exploit.

However, this does leave the trio open for Skye and Firestar to do work on them.

Something will shoot out of the hole heading up into the ksy out the way it came. Skye would recognize what it is, in theory, a communication relay of some kind. But for what?

Firestar can see the thing shoot up, she might be able to hit it. However, that would leave the actual units unattended to.
Polaris has posed:
Lorna Dane climbs back to both feet, doing her best to hold the shield. As far as she's concerned, Firestar is the 'one in charge' or at least one with woman and she nods towards Skye, "Help her keep 'em away from the people!"

She flinches then as the robots start to blast at a weak spot in the shield, causing her to be distracted, working on trying to mend her shield and add in a bit of energy around her shield to protect against their blasts, but it doesn't look like it will hold for much longer.

"Hurry! I'm running out of energy..." her shield flickers a bit, if she doesn't pass out first, her shield probably will.
Firestar has posed:
Angelica watches the object fly up, contemplates the chase, and then hears the sound of Lorna's voice and the strain. It will have to pass. Instead, she dives back into the fray, maser beams from each hand. Mindful of others around, once she sees a clear path she increases the intensity to a slicing bam from each hand with the intent to bisect the three active robots.

The idea to call for the League comes to her, but there never was time for that. She focuses on stopping the ones that are attacking Lorna and more directly her shield.
Quake has posed:
"They are sending a communication -to somewhere?" Skye knows what it is, but not how to..

Wait a minute! D'oh, Skye shook her head at her. To send a communion, they have to use waves. And what does she do to waves? She manipulates them. The communication might be usual, and lately her training was more on the offensive. But a vibration was a vibration was a vibration..

She just had to match and control it. To block it.

Skye smiles a wicked little smile. "I think I can deal with that. No more help from.. wherever."
It may be all that she can concentrate on for the immediate action. But she doesn't say that.

She attempts to nullify the communication.
Superman has posed:
Lorna can shield them off and people are able to run off. People are safe and she's being a great distraction. This allows others to see opportunity. Firestar has a choice and the choice is to help Lorna.

The three active bots take teh damage. One starts to melt and the voice warbles, "No one essccppsss," it says as various parts of it melt. A second is melting and clearly loses an arm and parts of the side. It tries to escape, but with enough pressure, Firestar can melt that one, too.

It's the third that's unscathed to a certain degree. Although running is probably in vain.

Sky feels the wavelenght starting to go on as it gets higher in the air. Although the more she concentrates evenuatlly the thing makes a "POP!" noise. The damage is mostly unseen. It's not until the object starts to fall can people see there's damage.

The object goes up in a straight path, but the decent has a curve, it looks to be in a freefall. Something's clearly broken.

Skye can feel the damage because the wavelength stops. The second the "Pop!" goes off, she can feel a freeing of pressure. Everything's gone. There's nothing to focus on.
