- Faith Lehane has posed:
It's a Thursday night at the+magic box and a busy night at that. Maybe it's the full moon or the hot and cold weather that can't make up its mind. Whatever the case, the store is pretty busy, mostly selling cheap charms and more expensive wards to fend off evil and the like.
Hired help is hard to find and Faith is hardly a bendable or trusted possibility, which is why she's not here to work, just to browse. Of course she's not looking for charms, just some weird potion that has the unexpected side effect of giving her a high.
Shes smart enough not to try and steal anything in this particular store however.
- Spider-Man has posed:
Peter Parker had his hands shoved deep in his pockets as he slipped through the Magic Box, trying his best to look like he belonged. He wasn't sure what exactly he was looking for, maybe some answers, or maybe just a distraction, but he couldn't help feeling out of place.
The shelves were packed with jars of strange substances, herbs, and trinkets that didn't exactly scream "normal." A part of him wondered how anyone could live in a world where magic was real? His spider senses tingled just a bit, but it wasn't the kind of danger that got him jumping out of his skin. More like the subtle feeling that something was... off.
He focused instead on the odd customers milling about, including one woman he kept catching glimpses of. His mind flickered for a moment as he tried to figure out if he knew her from somewhere, but he quickly brushed it off.
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"There you go! One Beginner Pagan and You. You found the chapter on visualizing very informative."
Willow didn't believe that book was good. Most of the Box's books for the ordinary buyer were like that: Saying nothing in a flowery way and costing big bucks. That's what the Magic Box made its rent with. After all, people really didn't expect the supernatural in downtown Sunnyvale.
Faith knew better. She knew where the real magic items were. How to order them. How to browse the real magical items.
Out of the corner of Willow's eyes she noted Faith browsing around. With this customer finished up, only Faith and Peter were left.
Willow frowned. "Can I get you anything?" A global question. She can't remember if Peter knew about the real reason for the Magic Box. Lately she'd been having tiny glitches in her memory. Thanks Dark Willow!
- Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane glances around as time passes and the bulk of customers thins out. It doesn't take her long to spy a Willow which warrants a wry smirk from her, and..Looks like some other guy she has not met before..Or did she?
Shaking her head, she returns to browsing the racks of options, finding the bright purple coloured one that's supposed to act like a kind of magical sleeping potion. When mixed with certain other substances, it's enough to put her into a lovely euphoric state.
"Who needs drugs or doctors when you got this?" she smirks, grabbing a few, slipping them in to get shopping basket.
As Willow spies her in return, she smirks and nods to her. "Yo Red, what's up? don't mind me, got what I came for.." she heads for the counter, "Lucky for you, I'm not dumb enough to try that stealing shit at a real magic shop..But at least you got good quality junk.."
She nods to the other guy. "Might wanna help him though, she looks lost."
- Spider-Man has posed:
Peter glanced up when Willow asked if he needed anything. He gave a small shake of his head, trying to be polite, but still feeling a bit out of place. "Nah, I'm just browsing for now. I'm new to all this... magic stuff," he said, offering her a sheepish smile.
As he looked around, he overheard Faith's voice from the other side of the store. Her words made him wince a little, something about stealing. He glanced toward her, trying not to make it obvious that he was eavesdropping. The whole thing just felt off, like she wasn't taking the place seriously.
He let out a quiet sigh, mentally taking note of her behavior while keeping his Distance.
Peter continued browsing, his fingers grazing over the shelves as he tried to make sense of all the oddities around him. As his eyes drifted from one object to another, his hand fell on something cool and metallic, a small, intricately carved box that didn't seem to match anything else around it. He turned it over curiously, oblivious to the fact that it didn't belong in the main section.
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
That earns Faith a wry grin. "Just because you know what to add to that potion doesn't mean everybody else does." Not like Willow should be advertising *that*. But she thins given the company she should be okay.
She doesn't mention the stealing. Ahem. Whether or not faith has, Willow most definitely has stolen from her. Recently, even!
Turning from Faith to Peter, she furrows up her brow. "I've met you before. Haven't I?" But in case he was a legitimate customer, she offers to show him some books.
- Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane peers thoughtfully at Peter, seeming to size him up with a thoughtful smirk before noting the box in his hands, "What you got there?" she asks casually, before nodding to Willow, a knowing look in her eyes,
"Don't blame me for hanging out with you lot..I mean, given all the muscle I give y'all, you'd think I'd get some of this shit for free. Especially given recent events."
- Spider-Man has posed:
Peter glanced down at the box in his hands, feeling a slight unease from Faith's sharp gaze. "Uh, this?" he said, looking at it again. "I don't really know what it is. It just caught my eye. I thought it looked nice, but..." He shrugged, clearly not aware of its significance.
He turned back to Willow, "Sorry, I have a terrible memory, so if we've met before, I don't really remember when or where."Offering a friendly smile and extending his hand, "I'm Peter, by the way. It's nice to meet you."
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow winces at Faith's words. All things considered Dark Willow could have done worse than she did. She quickly does the maths involved. "I can let you take the potion as an add-on to the other things?"
When Peter showed her what he has found, her eyes went wide. "That shouldn't have been in the aisles!" Making it sound like it was Giles' personal knick-knack. "Here, let me put that away for you."
When he mentions his name, a light goes on in her brain. "Didn't you take me to the Exhibition? You'll have to forgive me, I have had a recent brain injury. It's getting better. Just some things are iffy." Bull. Fucking. Shit. But in essence Dark Willow was like having a brain injury? Kind of. "Anyway, Willow. My friends call me Wil. Or Red."
- Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane arches a doubtful brow at Willow's offer. "Seriously? Are you shittin' me?! Given..Recent events you should be giving the damn things to me for free." she glances at the potions on the counter, clenching her fist around one of them.
"You know, if those cheap knock offs weren't so useless, I'd just raid the guy down the street. 50 percent off at least. You owe me, dammit."
- Spider-Man has posed:
Peter blinked as Willow mentioned the exhibition, a memory clicking in place. "Wait, yeah, I think I do remember you now! Columbia University, right? You were there when they had that exhibit on the advanced technologies. Small world." He gave her an apologetic grin. "Sorry, my brain's a little slow today. No injury, just me."
His attention shifted back to Faith, who seemed pretty adamant about getting a discount. He chuckled under his breath, not entirely sure what she'd done to warrant that kind of demand, but it definitely amused him. "Sounds like you've got some history with this place?" Then back to Willow who had taken the magical box, "But hey, if you're offering, I might take some of those discounts too?" He grinned, half-joking. Okay, mostly joking.
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
*grumble grumble grumble*
"Listen, Faith, I know that this past year I haven't been myself, but I can't give you everything just because. How many potions will it take to mollify you? This one time."
Before Dark Willow she would never have contemplated making a deal with Faith - especially over Giles' store. Willow would think of something to cover the losses, even if she had to pay for the potions herself.
"That's right!" She turns to Peter. "It was the Science Fair, I believe. Wonder who I went to the PNE with..OH!" She make the connection, though she doesn't share who. "I attend Columbia now. Soon for my Doctorate."
As for a discount.. "One book. Ten percent off. For being a new customer. Take it or leave it."
- Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane peers intently at Willow with a daring smirk on her dark tinged lips. And when she finally gives in she laughs. "Sounds like a deal, but if you want me to keep helping you and the scoobies, better gimme more discounts in the future!"
She rushes in her pocket for cash, pulling out a couple of bills and slapping them on the table.
Glancing between the two of them sue nods at the box. "So what the hell is that?!"
- Spider-Man has posed:
Peter watched the whole interaction between Willow and Faith with a mix of curiosity and mild amusement. It was almost like witnessing a business negotiation with magic thrown in. He couldn't help but smile at Willow's grumbling, the way she reluctantly gave in, but still kept her composure. It was clear she knew her way around both magic and negotiating, despite the occasional slip-up. He nodded when she mentioned the book discount. "Sounds good to me, if I find one I like."
His eyes flicked back to the small box in Willow's hands. Faith's question still lingered, "Beats me," Peter admitted. "But, it just seemed... interesting." His attention flickered back to Willow, and then he shrugged. "Anyway, Daphne was always my favorite," he added, more to himself than anyone, but it felt right to say out loud. Yeah Peter, fit in with the talk about Mystery Inc.
- Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Ixnay on the oxbay!" Sheesh, Faith should know better than that! Peter wasn't a powered person, or a magic user that she knew of. And since he didn't know what it was, it wasn't something that he should be aware of.
Though, Willow must admit, she hadn't seen this before. Close, but not exactly.
She snickered at Peter's observation. "Figures. Such a boy thing to say. Daphne was a decoy. Velma was the brains of the bunch. Everyone knows that. Funny thing, they released that Velma was a lesbian. So in theory she and Fred could both have been courting Daphne."
She neatly avoids the box.
- Faith Lehane has posed:
Faith Lehane peers more intently at the box, tempted to throw that in with her purchase, but she's a pretty damn cheap person as it is, and not in the business of buying mystery boxes that might be totally useless.
"Well I'll be taking these, heh.." she cackles a bit wickedly as she shoves the potions in her jacket pocket.
She starts to head for the exit but pauses. "Heh, they are totally like the cartoon, I mean Red here is basically Velma, B is Daphne, Xander is a dead ringer for that moron Shaggy, which would make Fred...." well, she's got to think a bit harder on that one.
