Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz is sitting in her apartment. She is staring at a glowing green ring that's sitting on her dining room table. The ring is in no real hurry to do anything. "Can... can you call the local Green Lantern? Ask him to come here? I... I need to talk to him to decide if I will accept this. "Affirmative. Calling Green Lantern with a non-urgent summons." She just sits back, sighing, hoping she won't regret this.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    Hal Jordan receives the summons at a moment in time that was actually conveninent for a change. "Acknowledged. I will be there as time permits." Hal then changes from his civilian clothes, into his Green Lantern outfit, and heads towrds Jessica Cruz and her request. It has been some time since she last saw her.

    Arriving shortly after the summons, Hal Jordan lands outside the apartment, and then knocks on the door. "It's me." Hal says.

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz opens the door. "Green Lantern... I... I need to talk to you," she murmurs as she shows you to the dining room... where a Lantern ring sits, glowing faintly - perhaps even hovering an inch off the ground. "It... came to me yesterday. After... Volthoom left. You heard about that building fire? I went to try to save people... but... the evil ring left me to die. I was saved but... apparently it was impressed... but... I don't know if I can handle another talking ring..."

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    "No problem. I'm here to help whenever I can!" Hal Jordan, Green Lantern, enters the room, and looks around. "Nice place you have here." He says politely. As they move into the dining room, Hal notes the ring, and frowns. "I heard about that through the grapevine. I'm glad you are finally rid of Volthoom, but I must admit, I am a bit surprised at the arrival of the new GL ring. Huh?" Hal moves closer, and regards it thoughtfully.

    Looking over his shoulder at Jessica, Hal smiles and says, "Jessica. I think you can handle a ring. Anyone who can get rid of that despicable ring that had grabbed ahold of you should have little trouble wielding a Lantern ring. Congratulations. Looks like it has found you worthy. So...what's the issue? Accept it and join the Corps."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz gazes between you and it. "What... cost... is there to it?" she asks softly, licking her lips. "What would be required of me?" she asks. She was just wearing short sleeves - her right arm is covered in scars - like veins extending from her hand up her arm. "I... I'm scared of getting into something I can't handle again."

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    Hal Jordan places his hands on his hips, and turns to look at Jessica, amusement flashing in his eyes. He laughs and says, "Well, besides the fact that you will be forever in danger from being a good guy, and the bad guys contantly taking a shot at you, I'd say there is no "costs" per se." Hal adds, "The responsibility of following the rules and regs of the GLC is there, but that is about it."

    Hal smiles, and says, "Everything should be part of your indocrination and training. Kilowog on Oa will usually take care of that for you. As soon as you take the ring, it will, more than likely, take you there for your training."

    Hal ponders her last comments for a second, and says, with encouragement. "We all feel that way Jessica. It is all part of the job. Accept, and you become one of us. Turn it down, and someone else will become a Lantern. It is all up to you."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz blinks. "What kind of rules and regulations?" she asks as she walks over to pick it up. "Can you... go with me to introduce me to this Oa?" she asks.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    Hal nods, and says, "Sure. I can go with you. I would expect that Salakk had something to do with this. He's been trying to organize the Green Lantern Corps into something a bit more...organized." Hal turns and regards Jessica for a moment as she picks up the ring. "Don't worry, it won't hurt. I promise.

    Hal's smile is reflected in his eyes and he says, "I remember my first time...it was far from...easy." Hal grins. "After all, back then, there were no other Lanterns to help me out when I found Abin Sur, my predeccessor, dying..." Hal shakes his head. "Jessica," he says softly, "...now is the time to make your decision."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz glances toward Hal. "I can change my mind later, right? I mean - it's not going to literally attach itself to me..." She clicks her tongue as she slips it on. "Welcome to the Green Lantern Corps." it announces as her clothing shimmers and changes to a Green Lantern uniform - and just as with the evil ring, the Lantern logo appears around her right eye, glowing green. "I... this doesn't... disturb me... this shade of green, I can come to like..." she muses as she looks at herself in a mirror in the dining room.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    "No, it will not attach itself to you like you mean." Hal says, an amused expression on his face. "Go ahead." Hal nods. Hal watches as she inches forward, and accepts the ring. As she slips it on, his smile widens, and he nods respectfully. With a clap of his hands, he adds his own congratulations to Jessica.

    "Congratulations Jessica! Welcome to the team." Hal bows his head respectfully, and says, "I like the little face sigal. Nice touch." Hal nods. "Yeah, green takes a bit getting used to. But it has worked for me."

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz smiles as she looks. "Yeah - that evil ring put a mark over my right eye - this symbol is one of my choosing..." She clicks her tongue. "So... ummmm.... when will we go on our trip?" she asks as she looks at her ring.

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    "Well, as soon as we can." Hal nods. "We need to get you trained and prepared." Hal nods and says, "I need to wrap a few things up. I would suggest practicing and not getting into too much trouble." Hal nods. "I'll be in touch and we can continue from there. If you need me, just send me a message!" Hal starts to float off the ground.

Green Lantern (Cruz) has posed:
Jessica Cruz nods slowly. "Very well... I'm sure I'm going to spend a lot of time getting to know my best friend - and trying to see if I can salvage my book series..." she muses as she gazes over at you, smiling softly. "Since I'm in the club now - can you tell me your name?"

Green Lantern (Jordan) has posed:
    "Of course." Hal removes his mask, and says, "My name is Hal Jordan. Welcome to the team." Hal smiles and nods.
