Synopsis:	Sam and Doug talk through some things.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is here at Harry's Ma and the Kids are supposed to get in a bit later today. He is not drinking anything stronger than Cola, but thought he would get a bit of a chance to hopefully talk to Doug before they got here. So he had asked the man to meet him here,

Cypher has posed:
Doug was in New York today, but actually took the day off early. He's loosening his tie as he walks in the door, and he drops into the booth opposite, heavily. "Oooof. So, hey." He says, "What's up." He orders a cold beer, and then rests his chin in his hand. "You look pensive."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Ma, and the kids should be in, in a few hours, and gotta find time for Ma, to meet Alexis while she is here. Ah figure if Ah give her time to see Jay and Andrea hanging out maybe able to make is a more "Oh hey mom, meet my girl friend, and not quite as big a thing."

Cypher has posed:
"Do you really think she'll make a thing of it?" Doug asks. "Listen, I think your mother's prepared herself for any eventuality regarding what her kids might choose to do with their lives." He points. "You're fine. Everything is fine. She'll love your girlfriend, just like she loved Lila."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit and says "Yea, just a little worried about it as she is the second girl introducing to Ma. Mind you this is a bit different, and as more in choosing now more cause Ma is here than making a trip to meet her specifically. " He looks around lowering his voice a bit "Told her, Ah know who she is, and you do, and we talked about it, gonna tell Ma, the whole story there. Ah may have her close to telling the folks at the school, but she is worried about her parents and granny finding here.

Cypher has posed:
Doug gives a shrug of his shoulders, and then says, "Well Sam, does the IRS know about the stills out in the woods near your farm? Do they know about your neighbors' reefer plots?" He rests his elbows on the table. "The point being, your mother's not a snitch."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Ah know, aint worried about that, just figured Ah would give ya a heads up on that one. Glad the Prof gave me the ok to bring her out to the school, think Ah may have got her close to taking a part time job helping Allison with music class." He hmms and says "Thinking about offering her a drawer at our place. Heck wish I could get her a better place somewhere."

Cypher has posed:
Doug quirks his mouth in a smirk, and then gets his beer. He tips the bottle toward Sam. "Baby steps. Don't smother her, some people value their independence." He takes a long pull from the bottle.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Ah am trying, Ah started with fixing a broken window at her place, and invited her up for Thanksgiving, but she aint sure if she can make it. She is working today and going to the shelter to help feed folks there tomorrow.

Cypher has posed:
Doug pauses, with the bottle to his lips. "So? Go with her. Seems obvious to me." Doug says, leaning back in his seat. "You're thinking about what you can do for her, think a little more about what you can do with her. You're good Sam, everything's good."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Oh Ah making sure, Ah am going to be there some with her, helping deliver some donations from Andrea, and plan on spending part of the time there, figure I will head back up right before dinner. Wouldn't do not to be there for Thanksgiving with Ma and the little ones here. Figure might be able to get her to come up to, if been there a while, may depends on hos many volunteers are there. So how you doing, sorry if ah aint been around as much."

Cypher has posed:
"I am--" Doug says, "A working stiff." He gives a shrug. "I'm sort of... holding, I guess. I can't be sour about it because things are going good, but sometimes I muse about my life having a little more adventure in it, but that's childish." Doug takes another sip of his beer.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to him, and says "Well your good at it, it seems. So you making sure to find time for some fun and such even if it aint going out and beating up thugs, or giant robots?" He asks his friend. "Had to do the first the other night some jack asses tormenting a girl in town, Alexis and Ah wandered upon it seperatly.

Cypher has posed:
Doug exhales, and then says, "Well, I'm seeing Jubilee..." He takes another sip of his beer, and then rests his chin in his hand. "She's a sweet girl." He rolls the head of the bottle along techno-organic fingers.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over a brow raises a bit and says "Seeing Jubes, and you need more adventure?" He will smirk at his friend "Ah would think that would be dangerous enough for any man."

Cypher has posed:
"It's like I told her--" Doug says, "I like what we have, but I was short so many things for so long -- I don't have the *practice* at this other people have. I -- can't just jump headfirst into a commitment. I'm not going to screw around on her, and I like seeing her, but--" He sets his bottle down. "But."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises and says "But what bro, what's bothering you?' He turns to fully face his friend, and seems to want to be able to help him, if it is possible.

Cypher has posed:
Doug gives Sam a hapless look. For knowing all the words, he has no idea what to say, apparently.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the other man, and puts his hand on his shoulder "Well move at your own speed Doug, could see you either wanting things fast or slow to be honest. I know you and sounds like your being open with her, so make sure ya keep that and should be good. Would hate t think where she might put those fireworks ya piss her off though.

Cypher has posed:
"Yeah, no kidding." Doug says, "That's just it, I'm on foot and she's on rollerblades." He drains his beer all in one go. "I've been taking this one day at a time--and that's the most frustrating part, I have no idea how to talk about it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit and says "Well, ok, important first question. You like her right?"

Cypher has posed:
Doug clinks his empty bottle about a bit, and then leans back. "Yeah."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the man and says "Ok if you like her, then you gotta try to talk to her, and don't give me the whole talking is easy for ya bull. This aint the type of talking your abilities help with and Ah know it. She has been through a lot more than you yea, but ah am pretty sure she would understand, and maybe even help ya find some of the things you missed. Might be good for both of you. Help you experience stuff ya missed, and her getting to be there to share it with you. Heck maybe Alexis and Ah can even double with ya sometime, but might have to make sure Jubes does not make it here job to embaress the hell out of me or Alexis.

Cypher has posed:
Doug rests his chin in his hands and says, "What if I'm just not ready to go all-in and she is?" He raises his eyebrows.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to the man and says "You talk to her about it, you be honest with her. Get things out on the table, let her know where you stand, find out where she stands, and then see about finding your middle ground. Jube does not seem the kind who is gonna want to marry ya anytime soon Dig Doug."

Cypher has posed:
Doug murmurs, "You make it sound so easy. If you were where I'm sitting you would've already worn a trench into the floor. Berto doesn't have these problems." He looks up, "Could I get another beer over here please, thanks."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to Doug, and says "Well I believe someone has told me Ah worry about things a bit to much, not sure who it was though." he grins at his friend "And Berto... well lets face it he flirts with most any girl he meets, Ah think it is the ones who don't fall for it are the ones that really interest him.

Cypher has posed:
"I think that part of it is that a part of him is also still in love with Juliana. He doesn't talk about her, like, at all, have you noticed?" Doug gets his second beer, and raises his eyebrows. "I can't imagine what that must've been like for him, the poor guy."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, trust me I am dealing with having to watch all that again.... Maybe that might help. Maybe I should have Jay talk to Berto, had not even thought about that." He admits to Doug. "I think he is at least to the point these days where he can look and not feel like he is betraying her " he speaks of Berto.

Cypher has posed:
Doug takes another pull of his beer. "Well I have this to say about him -- the guy is a great boss. He knows what everyone does, he knows everyone's name. If he doesn't, he finds out. He gives a damn, and everyone knows it, and they work harder for him because of it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, Berto can come off as full of himself, but he cares for people. And he wants to be good to those who work for him, pretty much if the people are putting in the effort for him, he wants to be worth putting in the effort for. Ever think you would have said that 5 years ago?"

Cypher has posed:
"No, I would've said something rancid in Portuguese, to him, and you would've had to pull us apart before I decided to fight him and he decided to break my face." Doug says, the beer loosening him up a bit.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "We were a lucky bunch, Ah think a bit of each of us rubbed off on the others a bit, and we are all better than we were when we came together. The whole group greater than any one of us, but also improving all of us as well

Cypher has posed:
"We learn, we laugh, we love, we grow as people..." Doug gives a snort, and then says, "We think life'll get a little easier someday but it really doesn't, does it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms, and says "Well yea it does, it gets easier with the things we have experienced, but the problem is it keeps throwing new stuff at us to make it seem like it doesn't. You put us back in the spot we were then we would kill it, but now we have more to worry about jobs, more people, how our actions make others think or do.

Cypher has posed:
Doug blows out a breath at that, showing what he thinks of it. "I don't know, some of those things were pretty hair-raising." He looks back to Sam and then says, "I just wince at some of these kids repeating the same mistakes they did. I feel old."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Well we did go through a lot, and trust me, we are lucky maybe the blonde will hide the grays they cause." He jokes a bit to this and says "Did some good this week for Andrea, but gotta admit am worried a bit about Sam. Looks like Nathan and Brad are fitting in well though.

Cypher has posed:
"He has to accept that his war has changed." Doug says, "But he's stubborn." He smirks. "You just have to hold out until the first time he falls in love, and then he'll go to pieces in a totally different way."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmms and says "Well, ah aint sure he is going to meet the right guy for that but maybe. His dog has seemed to help somewhat, but he has to much of a Ah am going to run off alone in him still."

Cypher has posed:
"Yeah, well, there isn't a good cure for martyr syndrome, except for becoming a martyr, and--" Doug says, "Results sub-optimal."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Yea, and Ah aint sure how to help curb it, him actually starting to feel for folks Ah think makes it worse as he does not want to endanger them.

Cypher has posed:
"Then he has to learn team action, subsubming his own ego into the whole. We all learned it... sort of." Doug makes a face and rubs the back of his neck. "Don't ask me how to teach him that, because I have no idea."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "Ah am really considering asking Logan to talk to him, but Ah aint sure if that will make it better or worse."

Cypher has posed:
"If he's going to be a lone wolf," Doug says, "He's going to need to learn how to be an effective one."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie says, "He is actually somewhat there with the whole training before here. Am hoping maybe Logan can get the whole if ya run off you might leave the team in a lurch to him"
