Corusca has posed:
At the far end of Long Island, there exists a smattering of lonely islands which crop up from the moraine. One is larger than others and has been private property for over a hundred years. The family was a fan of the esoteric and moved a castle there brick by brick around the turn of the century. Most recently, the island has shifted owners to another in the family and she has come to reside there from a more distant life in Quebec. The island is reachable only by boat or air and there's enough of a landing strip to land a cesna or similar private plane. It is otherwise a rugged rock with old oak trees gathered towards the center where high tides cannot harm them. Facing towards the Atlantic is an imposing four story stone structure that runs right up to the sea where waves crash against its walls. It is a fairly simple four walled affair with a porticulous keeping one from the inner courtyard and the central keep.

It is here that Miranda Madsen has invited the Themysciran Princess. A helicopter was arranged that could bring her and come back at a simple phone call but for all of the opulence.. there doesn't appear to be any other residents. Wait. There's a caretaker's house just outside of the walls with a carport shielding an old land rover.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana accepted the helicopter ride even if she had her own plane, and could fly without it... because... it was a kind offer and she would respond in-kind to it. When the helicopter arrived, she'd step out of it, wearing a ocean blue dress that was sleeveless and wrapped around her neck and up half of her back, the skirt of the dress going down to her knees. Diana's hair was tied back into a braided black pony tail that rolled down to the small of her back and she was wearing black sunglasses over her eyes.

With the helicopter still slowly winding down, it was noisey and windy, but that didn't bother the Amazon... she just looked about and smiled at the lovely landscape as she waited for direction on where to go from here.

Corusca has posed:
The answer to that question was easily answered. Miranda stepped from out of the gated entry to the castle wearing a white dress in a style amusingly similar to that of Diana. Her hair was not braided, however, and billowed about her shoulders like a mane of radiant gold. The white dress stood in stark contrast to her sunkissed skin. She lifted a hand in greeting and started to walk the path to the helipad to meet Diana halfway. "Welcome to my tiny slice of.. land." She gives a gesture about with a shrug. Certainly, this piece of real estate would go for a pretty penny in the modern market. The castle as well. She seems less impressed by it. "Let's go inside where it's less windy, shall we?" Smiling, she sweeps an arm back towards the gate.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would return the hand gesture and give a big smile as she approached Miranda. "Its wonderful!" She said to her. "I love it." The black haired woman would move to follow the radiant blonde and she'd let her eyes roam all about the area until they drew near to the castle where she would reach up to remove her stylish sunglasses. "And you said you had no home." She teased. "What more of a home could truly wish for?" She seemed to have a hard time understanding Miranda's requested desire to leave a place like this for something further away and more remote.

Corusca has posed:
"Home is more than a rock in the ocean." Miranda replies wanly as they pass through the gate and into the courtyard. With forty foot stone walls now blocking the oceanic winds it becomes easier to speak and Miranda tames her hair by simply running her fingers though it. "Princess.. I have invested in this place, true, but I have no people. What you see is a labor of expectation. It is a place I jealously guard.. for no good reason other than that it is mine." She continues walking and eventually leads them into the main keep. The solid oak double doors are ten feet high and iron barred which suggests an eye towards authenticity that is validated by the interiour. A vaulted ceiling welcomes the entrants with a hearth to one side and a throne dais central to the rear wall. Several doors lead off from here to points unknown. "I thought we would be able to speak for candidly here."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would simply follow along aside Miranda and she'd let her eyes look around the interior of the castle while she listened closely to that of the words from her friend and host. When they entered the room with the vaulted ceilings, the tall Amazonian Princess would gently turn and look about the entirity of the room. "The place is beautiful." She said to the other, letting her eyes landing upon Miranda and she gave her a smile. "I assume you are quite eager to hear back about the question you asked me." She said with a soft grin. "What I know is that I am allowed to bring you to my island, and let you speak with my mother. She will hear your request in person, which is... a very big deal, if I may be so crass as to describe it as such."

Corusca has posed:
"As I would expect so considering her longevity and her charge." Miranda agrees with a nod as she moves to sit on the steps leading to the 'throne'. She leans her elbows on her knees then looks around. "I imagine just being allowed to come to the island is more than I could have hoped." She takes a deep breath. "I will tell you this, Princess. I have an investment here. That investment I could move to your island. I want to be of use to the world but I cannot safeguard this place and do good works as well. Not without the constant distraction that comes along with it. And.. it is a distraction."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would move toward those same steps and she'd stand in front of MIranda who sat down upon them, Diana's hands would rest in front of her lap with her sunglasses held between them. "An investment?" She questioned, her chin dipped slightly as she stared at the other. "If I know my dragon lore, that sounds like you wish to shift a... horde of treasure... to Themyscira?" She asked this with a slight smile and waited patiently for the answer, her black eyebrows lofted up just a little over her blue eyes.

Corusca has posed:
Miranda looks up at Diana and gives a single nod. "That is indeed what I would wish to do." She gives a gesture about the throne room. "What you see here is.. well.. I would call it a ruse. My wealth? Isn't measured in actuarial charts. Themyscira? Does not value material wealth. Truth be told.. I don't much either.. save for the singular point of avarice which dominates my people." She stands and brings her hands behind her back. "People have tried to kill me more times than I've come to count over the rumor of such a thing. That there is a truth to it.. doesn't help. Wizards, likewise, have tried to kill me for.. my bits and bobs.." Amusingly, she indicates her breasts as if to suggest a humanesque association. "as well." Her eyes turn to focus upon Diana soberingly. "The hoard is mine. What else in wealth I have would be spent at the benefit of Themyscira, humanitarian causes and the like."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would listen with perfect attentitive kindness to every word that the other said, she'd smile here and there and gently nod her head to the words as well. "I understand what you are saying." She softly said to Miranda then. "And I will gladly relay all of this to my mother, however... it truly is she who will be able to make final decisions on this arrangement." Diana would part her red painted lips for a moment and she'd softly exhale as she considered her next words. A pair of seconds later she'd continue. "If she denies you... I hope that will not think any less of my people, or my mother... let alone me for that matter."

Corusca has posed:
"I won't lie and tell you it would not color my disposition." Miranda offers wryly. "Certainly, I could see there might be a danger if there comes rumor of a dragon in residence on Themyscira. The greed of man is.. without limits." She takes a moment to regard nothing in particular. "I've seen men kill for the mere perception of wealth." She shakes her head. "I would be disappointed. Naturally. I can think of no other place where I might be safe to place such a thing of value and know none to care for it beyond the allegiance it represents." She looks to Diana pointedly then. "I will not always be young. There will come a time. A time that you will experience thanks to your longevity. A time where my glistening scales might cause one to wonder at a second sun in the sky. We have long memories. As do your people." She nods. "Tell your mother this much she can be sure of. I have no ill will towards your people. Tell her that I have eaten no man nor woman in my lifetime though I cannot say that I have not killed. I have scorched earth only where vengeance was due."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana would simply nod her head to these words and she'd take a slow breath in through her nose causing her body to shift slightly as she considered it all. "I understand where you are coming from on all of this, truly, I do. I may not understand... specifics... but, there is likely specifics about my existence that you surely would not understand either." She showed a very faint smile at the corners of her mouth for the other. "We will figure out a way to bring you the peace of mind that you are looking for, Miranda. I promise you that. As capable as the two of us are, we will surely be able to figure something out, should this not work. But... perhaps it will!" Diana showed a light grin then. "My mother is a mysterious woman with a nearly unreadable personality. She may welcome the idea of your powerful abilities to become additional protection to our home. We will have to wait and see."

Corusca has posed:
"We shall indeed." Miranda eventually agrees as though returning her thoughts to the present. "But. What manner of hostess would I be if I did not offer you refreshment." She smiles and lifts an arm to indicate a door. "Shall we away to the sitting room? I have tea and sandwiches.. and if that is not to your liking.. I am sure I can whip something up."
