Venom has posed:
Growing up, Eddie's father Carl had been somewhat cold towards his only son. The holidays were not exactly a cheerful time at the Brock Estate. It was part of the reason that Eddie clung to the warmth of the season, enjoying the holidays, the carolling, the brightness, and everything about it. During an earlier conversation, he had referenced that when he makes Spaghetti, he does it in the oven, and that he uses four kinds of cheese. The response, well, it had led to tonight.

He had the spaghetti on, having salted the water thoroughly. Salting was of paramount importance, as it both seasoned the spaghetti and raised the boiling temperature of the water, meaning that it would cook faster. He also had to make sure that there was plenty of water in it, so it didn't clump together. He had been stirring it regularly, not wanting to let it set for too long.

There was a green Christmas Tree in the living room, all decked out with baubles, alternating between red and silver ribbon, a few Christmas crackers in the tree, and a few presents underneath it.

Three Christmas stockings had been set out, basic but elegant. There were three. The middle one had a snowman anchoring it, with a chalkboard underneath that said 'Natasha' in white, handwritten, lovely penmanship. Below, there was a dark red stocking, with fluffy top, and a silver 'N' on it. To the left, there was a Santa Claus with 'Venom' written on it, and the corresponding stocking had a big 'V' on it. And to the right, there was a brown bear, with 'Eddie' in chalk, and a big 'E' below on the stocking.

Eddie wore a grey and red Christmas jumper with Super Mario accents. It had Mario fighting Bowser, the lizard king villain, as well as some Boo ghosts, and a few other things from the game. Below that, he had on some form fitting blue jeans. The symbiote was out tonight, creating a sort of pet on his shoulder, like a cat, and was looking as cute as ever. It even had on a Santa Claus hat.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
At the appointed time, there was a knock on the door. Natasha was punctual. Not late, not early, literally right on the minute. It was a little later in the evening but honestly, that wasn't unusual for her. Her times at work could vary from one extreme to the other. Including times she would end up sent out of town, or even country, with no notice. It was the life of an elite SHIELD agent.

She had a paper bag cradled in her right arm. She was dressed in a simple green sweaeter, her hair pulled back into a messy bun at the nape of her neck. One of the hazards of sweaters and longer hair? Static electricity. she was trying to minimize it a bit.

In the bag was a bottle of wine, a bottle of vodka, and a large quantity of chocolate chip brownies from the bakery down the street.

Venom has posed:
As Natasha knocked on the door, she could hear music coming from underneath the door, as well as Eddie singing, "Good King Wenceslas looked out on the Feast of Stephen. When the snow lay round about, deep and crisp and even. Brightly shone the moon that night, though the frost was cruel. When a poor man came in sight, gathering winter fuel."

The symbiote heard the knock, but Eddie seemed to have missed it. It said, since right now it had a mouth, "Eddie, someone's at the door." And before he could react, it said "Eddie, Eddie," and nudged him with a tendril. "I got it!" He said, giving the Spaghetti a stir, before wandering over to the door.

He opened it without checking the eyeglass, or hiding the symbiote, as he expected Natasha, and she was always punctual. Eddie said, "hello Natasha" while the symbiote simulstaneously said, "Hi Na!" Because they spoke sort of at the same time, they spoke over each other.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"In stereo, no less," Natasha said with a bit of a laugh. "Eddie. Venom. Good to see you." She stepped inside quickly, shutting the door behind her. She even locked it. Because that was her. Too many people didn't lock doors behind them.

Once it was secure, she headed toward the kitchen counter to set down the bag. Then she started pulling things out. "Venom, these are for you? Although not sure cats eat brownies." She pulled out the sack of chocolate decadence and set it close to the duo. The two bottles were drawn out next. "The wine is for dinner. The vodka is so you have a decent one here in your freezer when I visit."

Venom has posed:
Venom remained attached to Eddie, even if just by a tendril, but there was always a piece of him in contact with Eddie Brock. He looked at the brownies, licking his lips, "we love brownies." Meanwhile, Eddie gave the spaghetti another stir. The sauce was still on, and had been simmering for hours. He stirred that as well. There were plenty of meatballs in it too.

Eddie would take the vodka, placing it in the freezer when offered, "Natasha, you're the best." He'd have to make a point of buying that brand whenever they ran out. Eddie then asked, "Venom, can Natasha and I have a brownie too?" The symbiote looked from one to the other, then said, "she can,"implying that Eddie didn't get any.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"You can have mine, Eddie," Natasha said immediately. "I had one on the way here. Couldn't resist." She did give Venom a bit of a look as she moved into the kitchen, looking for glasses to pour two glasses of wine. She wasn't sure Venom would want any of that. It probably wasn't sweet enough.

Venom has posed:
The symbiote moved back to be more on Eddie's shoulder, still there, but behaving a bit more. It added after Natasha's offer, "okay, you can both have one." Eddie, still stirring, said, "he can be a greedy little alien, but what are you going to do?" It was said in a loving tone, as if Venom were both a friend and almost a pet. They had an unusual bond to be sure.

Natasha found the glasses pretty easily, so Eddie didn't need to give her directions on where they were. "Besides, desert is under the trays over there." And there were two, one large, communal looking one, and a smaller one that was engraved with the letter 'V' on it.

Eddie explained everything he had done up to this point, catching Natasha on the methods, it was all pretty straight forward. "Now we get to the good part." Moving over to the fridge, he pulled out some feta, cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese, as well as a cheese grater and a bowl for it all. "My secret," Venom gave him a look and Eddie cleared his throat, "our secret, is to make a mixture of two parts cheddar, one part mozzarella, one part parmesan, into a bowl, doing a little bit of each so it's nice and thoroughly mixed. "Want to give me a hand with that, while I stir?"

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I thought I was coming to dinner, not turning into a sous chef," Natasha protested. The two glasses were set on the counter and she poured the wine. Then she glanced to the symbiote, raising the bottle of red in an offering. "Do you want a glass?" After all, it wasn't really a pet. It was a sentient alien being. Though she was sure the answer would be no, she didn't want to be rude either.

Only after the wine situation was straight (pouring a third if Venom did want one) did she put the topper back in the bottle and move to start shredding cheese as directed.

Venom has posed:
Venom says in all seriousness, "alcohol is toxic to my species, and yours. Eddie explained that sometimes it's okay to experience a little bit of pain in order to experience a little bit of pleasure." It's eyes made a bit of a face, "we're still trying to wrap our minds around that one. But we'll try a little?"

Eddie gave Natasha a look when she protested, "oh, uh, sorry," but by then she had begun to grate the cheese. Eddie was draining the spaghetti of water, putting it into a large bowl, before topping and mixing in the sauce. There were plenty of meatballs.

With the spaghetti thoroughly mixed, he came over to where Natasha had grated the three kinds of cheese. He'd begin layering the spaghetti, putting some cheese. No Feta had made it in yet. He did four layers of spaghetti and cheese, before the top layer, which is where he added the feta. "Just a little bit of feta for taste." And then it went into the oven in a dish safe for it.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Oh has he? Interesting," Natasha responds to the tidbit that was shared. She's not sure why that would be shared. Emotional. Physical. So mnay interpretations. She poured a small sample of the wine into a third glass for Venom to taste.

Once he was working, she watched to see how he was layering things, quantities and so forth. Then it was in the oven. She picked up her wine glass and went to the living room, settling on the couch.

Venom has posed:
With it in the oven, Eddie picked up his glass of wine, the symbiote formed a tendril to pick up the sampler of wine, and they headed over to the couch, sitting beside Natasha. He picked up the remote, yeah, men and television remotes. He couldn't go even five seconds without reaching for it, despite having Natasha sitting beside him. "So, what shall we watch?" he flipped through, "Ooh, Die Hard is coming on. Love that film, but not really a Christmas film, is it?"
