Cast of Characters: Doc Samson, Zeitgeist (Julius)

Doc Samson has posed:
The Psychiatric Practice of Dr. Leonard Samson: a mostly nondescript office environment in white and muted tones, with a welcoming receptionist, a waiting area with plush chairs, and the doctor's office proper--containing several chairs and a couch.

"I'm glad you found the practice," Samson says, leaning back against his desk. "Welcome. I hope that, together, we can figure out how to help you feel more positive and comfortable with your life." He offers a toothy smile.

"So. What brings you in? What led you to me?" Samson asks, reaching for a notepad nearby on the desk surface.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus is usually not nervous but Lucius hasn't seen a Psychatris since almost Sigmund Freud himself. He removes his coat, "I guess I might as well lead with a word of warning... and also I hope I can hold you to your code of ethics." he mentions, "I've been a live a long long time, I've seen alot, and recently since moving to this huge city, I've relived some of those events from the distant past." He sighs, finding a seat at the comfortable looking couch, assuming perhaps this was the expected spot for the 'patient'. "I have a hard time not seeking to end the suffering of the present... maybe trying to repay the times in the past I turned a blind eye."

Doc Samson has posed:
"Of course," Samson replies, nodding. He jots down a few notes on his pad.

"Please," he adds, watching Primus sit, "make yourself at home. If you'd like water or a snack, I've got some protein bars, rice cakes..."

Samson chuckles. "I guess maybe I should expand out to more comfort foods, but I've always been protective of my figure."

"But enough about me," the doctor continues. "You've seen a lot of suffering, you say. And you want to end it. You say you've turned a blind eye in the past--do you think that's influencing your motivation to act now?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus folds his hands, "I can try and defend my past actions as simply that the world went crazy and trying to be the sane one was just too much. I mean when the white europeans pushed westward, they slaughtered alot of natives who lived there far longer then they did. However, fighting them was like fighting a river..." He sighs, "Now.. when the little ones suffer I remember what happened.." He leans back, "I know I'm supposed to just let the social agencies of the world handle it... but sometimes they don't care, or the problem is just too large for government to 'fix it'. I mean.." he looks at the Doctor, with a bit of a question in the eyes, "If I have the ability to help somehow? don't you think you should interfere..."

Doc Samson has posed:
"Mmm," Samson intones, taking more notes. "That must have been really difficult to have to live through--the sheer amount of injustice you've witnessed, that is. Are you worried that it'll become too much, and that's why you have to act now? Do you feel compelled to try to help out with /everything/? Or are there certain kinds of injustices that you want to intercede in? Like oppression of indigenous communities, for example."

Samson reaches for a coffee mug and takes a sip. "Do you think that having the ability to act means you have the obligation to do so?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus thinks a bit, if Samson's thoughts are open to mental reading, he does his best NOT to read the man, "Yeah, I don't play favorites... generally. I try and help the worse, the ones that can't fight." He thinks of the second thought espoused by Samson, "I have a hard time believing their is a God but... when the dice are tossed and your this rare anomoly.. maybe I was given this purpose." He's hesitant at this moment to talk about the fact that he can mind read nearly half of the city of New York or precisely how old he is. Though it's more information laid out by him in a while... " He pulls a wallet out and slides to Samson, "I don't want to be Solomon... Humans, Mutants, Metahumans... why do I need to play favorites? If I help them all.. I'm bought to hated by one of them.

Doc Samson has posed:
Samson's thoughts are a mixture of professional focus, genuine curiosity about his patient's life, and thoughts about potential publications that might come from a case study of an individual who might have lived an exceptionally long time.

"Well," the doctor says, as Samson picks up the wallet, "regardless of who you help or not--you're bound to make enemies. There's no rhyme or reason to that, either, since you mentioned the chance of fortune."

He adjusts his glasses, opening the wallet to examine it briefly. "Sometimes, even the people you might think are your closest friends can still come to despise you. Do you see yourself ever wavering from your mission, knowing that's the case?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The wallet has various pictures of all colors and races, he seems to keep a sort of gallery of people he helped, "Yeah, I gave up on the Western expansion... I went to Japan... and also later Russia... THey all had their problems, but sometimes ones that were a bit more one-sided.

Doc Samson has posed:
"I see," Samson says, reaching out to return the wallet to his patient. "I imagine that things were quite different from place to place, but maybe also felt familiar in many ways. Would that be right? Or is it a bit too reductive?"

He clears his throat and taps his pen on the notepad. "Tell you what. Why don't I get a bit of history from you? Let me know where you've been--whatever you might feel comfortable with--and we can build from there? That way, I won't make as many assumptions as I might otherwise..."

Samson smiles and continues taking notes as the session continues.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "I will try and put together something... I bind your to your oath though.. I don't want people to think I'm above them.. living long as I have.. I just want to be normal man helping others.""
