Tinyplot: Surviving Infinity

Archangel has posed:
After the disruption at the party, and the two of them being pressed into crowd control, Warren had called for his car service to pick him and Theresa up from the party. With it getting close to midnight, the chance of finding a restaurant that was open was nil. So, the decision was made to return to the mansion and they would raid the kitchen. After making it through the front door, Warren is frowning to himself as he heads to the fridge - his jacket back in service to cover Theresa's shoulders.

"Well, that did not go as planned.." he admitted to her as he opened the door to look within to see what he can scrouge the pair up for dinner. What he may have had planned, he hasn't mentioned yet.

Siryn has posed:
"No, no it did not," Terri agrees as she sinks into one of the stool chairs that had been set up to line on the opposite side of the kitchen island where much of the cooking and prepwork actually happened. This place had become such a gathering ground in general that seating had become necessary. Leaning her elbow on the island she lets her fingers sink into her hair cradling her forehead with a long sigh. "I could have helped more, I know I could have, but... Don't need to be dragging attention to the school that way. At least we got some people out."

Letting her hand drop away she watches Warren fish around in the fridge with a tired smile. "So do you show all your dates such exciting events?" It's a light tease meant to break some of the tense mood that she feels may have settled over them.

Archangel has posed:
Warren think on this for a moment. "No, you did the right thing." he assures her finally. "Not that the attention won't be there, but there was a lot of civilians that needed help.. and I let .. that .. take a hold of the moment." She saw him turn blue, and those wings go to their more dangerous metallic form, after all. After looking around the fridge for a few moments, he hears her comment on the date and he laughs. "As if I have that many dates, Terri." he points out with a chuckle.

"It's not as if my social calendar is always so filled up. But, I don't think we should be so ready to call it a night." And to make that point, he closes the fridge and reaches into his pocket to take out his phone.

Thumbing through a few selections, he finds one he enjoys. Turning on the speaker, he sets the phone on the counter, and it starts to play the quiet first notes of a concert song, before picking up. ( https://youtu.be/6EoUAbODO34 )

"It's a few minutes til midnight, Terri." Even if the clock on his phone shows it's clearly 12:34 AM. "May I have the last dance of the old, and first dance of your New Year, Miss Cassidy?"

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy watche that near transformation with a small frown at the reaction. "Everyone reacts differently in the heat of the moment, Warren. But you acted. You didn't panic, or freeze, or join the stampede of people rushing out." Even if they did get swept up in it eventually. "Even if you might want to check your temper a bit." Another little tease as he turns to set the music going on his phone with an eyebrow slowly raising.

When the offer to dance comes she gives a laugh and slides off the stool. The jacket is lightly shrugged off to remain behind as it was warm enough inside here. Her hand slides in his taking it as she setps closer with a quiet warning of, "I'll try not to step on your toes."

Archangel has posed:
"I'll try not to knock over anything with my wings." Warren teases back, smiling as he feels Theresa press in close. His free hand settles on her side. "I didn't get a chance to tell you how gorgeous you looked tonight. Totally stood out." His smile is warm, his blue eyes mirthful with their brightness as he starts to spin her around the kitchen floor, his fingers moving to lace with hers on their interlocked hands, much as she had done to him at the party.

"Dating is a hard thing to do, you know. Especially with my past and history, and issues." Warren admits as he bites on his lower lip in thought. "Not many people understand the things that happened and changed me. And fewer still are accepting of the fact that.. I have some semblance of control over it. I think at times, even my closest friends worry that I might lose control and let Death take over again." He smiles a bit. "I guess what I'm taking the long way to saying is that I'm glad you decided to take a chance to go out with me."

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy moves along with the dance letting him lead as she follows best she can. Once the movements are set up at least she seems to match with them well enough. Only a few bumps of her toes against his and no outright stepping occurs. The hand not intertwined with his rests against his back lightly. "Ha, well, we've all got our problems, aye?" Her green eyes dip downward a little as she admits, "I grew up with a bunch of criminals. Knew it, just... they were family. I've gotten more than my fair share of chances over the years. Not hard to give others a chance, too."

A little awkward clearing of her throat comes as she lets her attention lift back up to his face offering him a smile. "I'm not exactly perfect, either. I've... got a drinking problem. Anger problem. Most of the staff knows anyway," she adds with a little shrug. "It's a work in progress." Fingers tap against his side a moment before she adds, "Thank you for asking me out. Been ages since I've even gone on a date. And you looked rather dashing in your attire this evening, too."

Archangel has posed:
"I saw a beautiful woman, that I know little about and I want to know more about. Even if I may have to put up with your father giving me looks about it." Warren says with a chuckle. "Especially if we decide that this is going to be more than one date. If you'd let me." he adds bravely, his fingers brushing against the sequined side of her dress.

"I know you're not perfect. Neither am I. But I did enjoy your company tonight. And I'd like to again, even if I'm not ready for this night to be over." The song starts to near the end, and Warren gives a chuckle. "I think this is where we start the countdown?" comes the playful question.

"Ten..."

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy snorts faintly at mention of her father with an upward roll of her eyes. "He avoids me like the plague. Remind him too much of Ma." The rest of what he says though earns a slow spreading smile in return from her. When he begins the countdown she ducks her head down closer to his chest with a little laugh. "All right," she agrees with a tip of her head lifting back up toward him. At least now she was smiling, genuinely and with mirth, over how the evening was apparently ending. Mock countdown and all.

"Nine," she chimes in only to take a smidge of a step closer as she tucks in against his chest. "I think it's safe to say there'll be a second date," she assures, and then as the next number ought to be counted she gives a laugh. The hand laced in his wriggles free to instead reach up to brush her fingertips against his cheek.

"Never was good at waiting." Which is precisely why she doesn't bother to wait as she leans in to press her lips against his. Soft, warm, and just enjoying that first kiss of the New Year.

Archangel has posed:
When she says there's going to be a second date, Warren's smile is infectious. "I promise no supervillains from other worlds interrupting. Eig..." He never gets a chance to finish the countdown thanks to Theresa's boldness as his mouth is pressed to hers. It's a warm, soft kiss, as his hands slide around her to pull her in as he enjoys the kiss - and yes, he does try to deepen it between the pair.

And he's not going to be the first to give up on the kiss in this case. She's worth waiting for and he's going to enjoy it with her.

Siryn has posed:
Theresa Cassidy is the one that inevitably withdraws if only to take a deeper breath with a quick glance cast toward the door suspiciously. "Maybe that's it for the evening... Given the location," she points out. Last thing either of them needed was a student walking in with the midnight munchies. And surely they were likely having some sort of celebration of their own in the mansion. They always did. A bit red-faced she looks back with a light clearing of her throat. "So then, Mr. Worthington. I believe we had sandwiches to finish off?"

Archangel has posed:
Chuckling, Warren steps back just slightly, but takes Theresa's hands in his own. "Wouldn't want rumors about us getting out yet." he teases. "Though I'm sure if there wasn't the interruption with what happened, some social beat reporter would have been looking for a scoop on who I was out with." Being a known socialite billionaire blue blood - and a mutant - has it's own complications.

Though at her request and subject change, Warren takes up his phone after releasing Theresa. "I'll introduce you to my version of the Dagwood!" he says as he opens the fridge to start to get out ingredients. "Though I hope our next date will actually involve a dinner prepared by someone else that I pay for."
