Synopsis:	Detective chimp goes to sleep on Xanatos' contract... hope he doesn't drool.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp has gotten asked to come to the office of this rather rich man. Chimp figured if he was willing to pay his rate and traveling to get there instead of coming to his office, he was ok taking the money. The Chimp has a lit cigar stub between his lips, non having said anything to him yet. He will walk into the office looking about as he is shown in.

David Xanatos has posed:
He Shown in by a tall blond man who first introduced himself as Owen Bennett, and who had tried to inform the Chimp that it is a no smoking facility... but knows that odds are he isn't going to get very far. He was agienst hiring the Chimp in the first place, but Mr. Xanatos has a more...open mind. The tall man smiles as the chimp is shown in. "Ahh, Detective. Thank you for coming. Can I offer you something to drink?" Xanatos is a smiling, pleasent man... though he has the eyes of a preditor.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp actually does put the cigar out with a subtle comment about not pucking around right before stepping into the room with David. He nods, and pinches the cigar out with a piece of leather he has handy for it. "You got a decent scotch?" He will ask as he walks over and climbs into one of the chairs to stand and be able to look more in conversation level.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos smiles a bit, "A Man after my own heart, so to speak." David says simply gesturing to the table while Owen walks off, evidently to get the drinks. "so then, your reputation proceeds you," He informs the man, taking a seat in the small conversation area across from the place he gestured for the Chimp. "So will you forgive me for cutting directly to the chase?" he asks taking a small manilla folder from his briefcase.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods, and will lean forward to accept the folder "So what are you needing me to look into and what are the conditions on the job?" He will ask the other man. If he wants to cit to the chase he is ok with it. The unlit cigar will be returned to his mouth waiting to look through the folder when it is in his hands.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos says, "It's called the Pheniox Gate." He says simply. "I'm trying to track it down, and rejoin it with it's companion piece which is already in my collection." he says simply. "I've been unfortunately unable to make headway into finding it myself, so I'm hoping that an outside source might be more capeable. I'm willing to pay you $1500 on the agreement you look for it, with a $10,000 bonus if you are able to either bring it to me or put me in contact with whomever has it." He says simply."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmms and says "Ok, well if I may ask, what you plan on doing with it? A magical artifact of this level is seldom looked for just because hey it is neat, specially if your combining it with another." He hmms and says "And with some of its rumored abilities..." he studies the other man.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos smiles a little bit, leaning back. "I had thought you would be a man of science, considering your background. Do you really believe in such things?" he asks with amusement but says simply, "If it were to actually work? I would use it to...preserve the time line I assure you.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp looks to the man and says "There is more in the world, and all that. My office is across the hall from a practicing wizard." He will tell the other man. He raises a brow, Chimp is one of the best detectives around. "And do you have a place you plan on starting to look and a time period your wanting to put into seeking it?

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos says, "Old joke," Xanatos says simply "What do we want? Time Travel. When do we want it? That's irrelevant." He says rather amused, leaning back and taking his scotch from Owen after the blond man offers a snifter to Chimp first. "I'm offering you $1500 on your reputation that you will do your best to find the phoenix Gate for me. If your attempt is a failure, then it is a failure. If you find it you will be paid an additional $10,000. If you do not, you will not." He pulls out a simple contract, "This stipulates that you agree to spend a minimum 20 hours to my case. If at that time you wish to discontinue then it can be done without penalty."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp hmmms and nods his head a bit taking the drink and sniffing it a moment before taking a sip. " "Well the amount of minimum your expecting on the case is important if you expected me to keep looking for it till found it could be years or such.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos shrugs. "Work the minimum. If you were then to stumble across it in two years, or five, or ten, the contract states that you will still be entitled to the bonus at that time." He shrugs, a bit. "I personally think it's a fairly generious terms." He leans back and considers, "You mentioned a professional Wizard. Would that be Harry Dresden by any chance?"

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods his head a bit to this and says "Yes, he is in the office across the hall from me." He looks to the man and says "The amount of time I want to work on it, is not me being lazy or not wanting to put time in the job. It is more what priority your wanting to put into seeking the items.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos nods slightly. "I'm asking for twenty hours of your focused, best work. Should you not find it in that time, how you choose to proceed is your own affair. Work on it in your spare time, or not at all. Find it for sale in a garage sale for ten dollars and the $10,000 bonus will be yours." Leaning back he considers, "What can you tell me about the man, if you don't mind my asking. I'll confess I plan on meeting with him about this matter as well."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "He will be even more curious about what you plan on doing with it than I am, and often there is property damage after he has been looking into things. He is a good man though, decent detective. Not sure if he will take the job or not."

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos nods slightly, considering the Chimps words, though his last ones make him raise an eyebrow. "Any perticular reason that he wouldn't?" he asks seemingly genuinely curious. He refills his own scotch, which is likely older then he is himself, and holds the decanter out to his guest.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "Well first off pretty sure he will be of the opinion any many who wants an item that might grant time travel should not have said item. Second, pretty sure he will say something to piss you off, and it won't go well between you as he is a bit of an ass."

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos smirks just a little bit. "On the first point, I think I would normally be obligated to agree. Just as I feel that anyone who seeks political office should be banned from it in general." he says amused, "As for him being a bit of an ass, one does not get to my sort of possition without having to have dealt with a few asses along the way. If he does take the contract however? Do you expect he will follow through?" the man asks sliding Chimp's own copy over towards him along with a gold pen.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp says, "He like I would want to put some thought into it to be honest. I would wager he would also spend a bit more than 20 hours on it. Closer to 40 minimum on it, as would not want to over charge you if I took it.""

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos nods at the other's words and leans back, placing his pen in his inner pocket and nodding. "Of course, that's entirely reasonable. Take the folder and the contract with you. If you decide you want to take up the case simply sign the contrat and either fax it to me or send it through the mail. When I recieve it, I will have Owen transfer your retainer to any account you would like to designate."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp nods his head a bit to this and says "I will be considering it, I should have an answer for you within the next week." He seems to study Xanatos, as he speaks.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos nods and stands, offering his hand without hesitation to the other. "I appreciate that." He says offering the man a card as well. "My private line, should you need to get in contact with me, feel free to use it. I never sleep I assure you."

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp stands again and keeps the folder unless asked for it back. He will shake the offered hand, and says "It is something you should do more if your not. Sleep is a rather important thing for a good frame of mind.

David Xanatos has posed:
David Xanatos smiles just a bit, "Life is entirely too short to spend half of it asleep. Pleanty of time to sleep when I'm dead." He nods to Own and the blonde man steps foreward to escourt the Chimp back downstairs to his limo and awaiting plane.

Detective Chimp has posed:
Detective Chimp does not comment on that one as he has spent quite a few years drunk off his butt in the past. He does keep an eye on both the place and the blonde man, to help him have as much info as he can to make his decision.
