A bit of tea
Date of Scene: 14 July 2020
Location: The Coffee Bean - Manhattan
Synopsis: Hot drinks are purchased and knowing glances are exchanged
Cast of Characters: Phantasm (Drago), Berri Sundae

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
As the start of the work weeek comes near an end and the tired persons are almost done mourning the weekend lost on their way home to from their various occupations. One person does not seem to share in the sadness. Nick does not have a normal work schedule and for today, Monday is pretty light for him.

The ball capped musician walks in, dressed down as normal. Jeans. A t-shirt that exposes the scar on his right forearm, and - well that's it. Already stated, it's a light day for him.

Looking to the line, finding it of an acceptable length, he joins the end of it. Already knowing what he's going to get.

Berri Sundae has posed:
For Berri, work had been distressingly slow. Of course, when you were technically a mercenary or 'Henchwoman for hire' to some of the most dangerous criminals and mobsters out there, there are plenty of people who'd consider it a good thing! She wasn't exactly starving, cuts of heists and paid 'wages' had kept the young woman comfortable...but she was -bored-! Once more she was out and about, seeking distraction, comfort or whatever else to hold her interest...and so far she'd made it as far as deciding she wanted a drink.

Dressed as she was in white and with her pink and brunette hair, the 'icecream' color pallate girl wasn't exactly subtle, she tended to draw the eye. There was no stepping to the line for her however, instead the young woman made her way to a seat as the barista preparing drinks sudden set aside the current order. With her gaze fixed upon the man, the girl was silently staring while she lounged and awaited her prioritized hot chocolate.

Telepathy had its perks.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It wasn't until the 'What are you doing's were uttered that Nick glances to the others in line, following their glances over to the cashier, whose glance eventually lead to the barista behind the machines. Not being a telepath himself, it just looks like a regular drink being made but when that person starts to move from their postion to deliver the drink well. Yes. That is odd.

He watches the movement which eventually leads him to the colorful girl he last saw around Easter and considering her continuance of the color palette, it may very well still be Easter for her. Thoughts of the odd encounter in the museum with Morgana start to stir.

Berri Sundae has posed:
It had been a funny little Easter encounter at the museum, one that very well could have been blamed on her by those who knew her power, but not by those who knew -her-. She was one for theft with a little more skill and style, 'Snatch and grab' was a street kid's game. Her drink is brought to her hand, a smile and a nod of thanks not really registered as the barista returns to his station as if he'd never left, save for slightly more irritated customers and a few 'who the hell is she?' being uttered.

For her part? Berri lazily reaches, plucking a marshmellow from the drink and placing it into her mouth with her fingers. It's only then that she turns her head, seemingly noticing the familier eyes of Nick turned her way.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
It'd probably be around the time one would look away when it appears they're going to be caught looking at someone but Nick continues looking on. Giving a tilt of a head and a slight smirk at the situation. Yep. He was looking. But so was everyone else. Noticing the line start to shift forward, he turns, moving up a few steps before stopping once again.

Berri Sundae has posed:
Eventually people's grumping would move on. They'd be served, eventually. Berri herself didn't look particularly guilty for her 'crime', but the girl had been through and done far worse than a little line cutting, much as one might rate it above bank robbery or hired assassination! Idly resting her chin on her palm, she continued to sip her drink, but now it was her turn to be watching curiously. She remembered the face after all...and how readily he'd taken the 'strangeness' in his stride.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
The line had its own speed and with Nick's very basic order of hot tea, his drink ended up being ready before some who had their orders in before him. A less, frowned upon means of getting ahead of a few people perhaps. After getting his cup and getting a protective sleeve slid around the cup he turns from the counter. His path bringing him near Berri's.

Memory is a funny thing with what gets brought up and the different paths it takes. The backwards pants suggestion, how the woman with brightly colored hair also determined it was Morgana, the mention of a letter made to look like something else entirely. Hmm. He should probably look around for that.

Berri Sundae has posed:
Of course, Berri wasn't one to say Hi...or say anything really, but there was a little nod of her head from her lounging position, a slight tilt of her mug that might suggest acknowledgement to the man. It wasn't like she was delving into his thoughts, for her 'surface thinking' was aptly like chatter in a cafe, one heard parts and could listen more intently if she concerntrated, but 'hearing' about yourself tended to capture one's attention a heck of a lot quicker.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick looks to Berri, seeing the nod and tilts his cup in a mock toast, returning the acknowledgement. Words aren't exchanged nor does he interpret her actions as indication to her wanting to talk. Which, vastly contradicts the choice in attire. Exchanges given, the musician continues past the table.

Berri Sundae has posed:
Not every meeting was a deep an meaningful one, not every encounter in the city lead to conflict, hijinx, romance, angst or any other dramatic outcomes. Sometimes? There was merely a meeting, a knowing look or a glance. Berri's lips quirk into a faint amusement at the thought, but perhaps it was just another reminder that every hero, villain, bystander and inbetween was out there somewhere. Sometimes hatching a plan...and sometimes just enjoying a hot drink!
