Date of Scene: 26 August 2020
Location: China Basin, Old Gotham
Synopsis: Catwoman follows up on Batman's injured friend while musing in a rooftop.
Cast of Characters: Catwoman, Batman

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman had returned to the China Basin, particularly to the little street where a lot of Chinese vendors frequented more than elsewhere. It's also where she had assisted the young thief in escaping from the angry store manager. Fortunately she hadn't tried thieving. At least not from the same manager this time.

Fortunately she had encountered Catwoman first, who had supplied her with more (unstolen) apples, patted her on her head and told her to be a 'good girl' (and not get caught next time!).

Perhaps it was moreso for her own sake, trying to put on a good front around these parts where a certain Bat had been seen around lately. And for now, she just scans the streets below, not really looking to cause any trouble. In fact, she may well be trying to stop trouble, in a way.

A stray cat comes up to her and she smiles, petting it, stroking it's fur gently. "Well aren't you a pretty little thing.." she murmurs as she watches the sun go down..

Batman has posed:
With the sun so far off to the West, dipping slowly below the horizon and casting the city in its long shadows, it provides a subtle haze to things. Just a hint of the dark that beckons an hour away when the light retires and only the gleam of the city illuminates the night.
But those long shadows have their uses, providing the perfect cover for the owner of that stern solemn voice that she'll hear from behind. Just that steady rumble lifted as the Batman murmurs, "I hope you're out here to watch the sunset."
And not doing aught else. For there are no laws against appreciating the distant colors on the horizon behind him. He steps out of the shadows, tall, grim, dark silhouette with the cape around his shoulders and hiding most of him from view.
A pause. Then he murmurs. "Thank you."
For her help. Though she may not know how she was of help she still was.

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman catches sight of the young thief friend of hers down below and smiles approvingly. For now, she maintains a low profile, not causing any trouble. Clever girl. Steal only as needed, not as wanted. Not when HE's aroun--.

Oh. She's not alone. He's right there. Behind her. Sooo creepy. Eyes narrow, feeling his presence as a shift in the winds, or was it that long, billowing cape, blocking out what little light remained from the beautiful sunset? She smirks, glancing sidelong at him, still petting the kitty.

"Well, I can't take all the credit for that beautiful sunset, but.." she arches a brow, oh wait, what now? Catwoman quirks a curious brow at him, wondering if she's just got caught in the act again. In something. Uh.

"I'm Sorry, what are we talking about again?"

Batman has posed:
"For your help." The Batman walks forwards, cape billowing slightly to show the symbol, his arms at his sides. He stops beside her now to look down upon the sweeping vista below them of the city, and the Basin with its steady rush of humanity and the people tending to their shops.
His head turns slightly to the side, irisless white eyelets meeting her gaze as he murmurs, "It was useful. And timely." There's a pause then he looks back toward the neighborhood before him, brow furrowing slightly as he then murmurs. "That's all I can tell you about what passed." And hopefully that shall serve.
Then he gestures with one hand uncurling toward the youth far below and he says. "She. Looks familiar." Perhaps he's going to leave it at that, or perhaps he means something else. Whatever it is, he turns and starts walking.

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman blinks slowly. Ohh..That. She smiles sweetly. "But of course! I'm always happy to help you." emphasis on the *you*. It's not like she does the superhero business for just anyone afterall.

"So. Your friend is going to be okay? that's a relief. I was a bit worried there. Although, I still cant figure out, why you decided to ask *me* of all people to deliver that package. Was it some kind of test?" Eyes narrow on him intently for a moment, trying to figure him out. Alas, he's an enigma, an unsolvable puzzle. Even to her.

Glancing below at the girl who continues to 'behave' for now, she chuckles a little. "Oh? How so? I'm sure she's just some innocent girl.."

Batman has posed:
The step away halts, paused as he turns his head to the side, eyebrow quirking underneath that cowl as he lifts his chin slightly. "You were available." Which might be true, then again might well not be. That said he turns and faces her once again, eyes narrowing slightly as he murmurs. "Needed someone fast and untraceable, with no connections that might give insight if anyone intercepted you."
Which was a possibility? Would've been good to know perhaps.
Another glance is given down toward the market even as people are closing up their stalls and their shops, then he looks back to her and murmurs. "Try to keep things on an even keel." Which might mean several things to be fair.

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman smiles, slightly amused, but maybe a bit..Flattered too. "Oh..Really? Is that all? I kind of had the impression I was being..Tested."' she positively purrs as she says that, still petting the kitty lazily in her arms.

"Either way, perhaps I should be..Flattered? It's nice to know you trust me, if even a little. It mean a lot to me, actually."

Batman has posed:
For a time Batman sort of looks at her steadily, his features twisted into a subtle hint of a scowl that's accompanied by a snort. A snort that hides the scowl's shift into a smirk as he turns away. Then he's walking back towards those long shadows, spreading his arms to cause the cape to slip from his shoulders and settle on his back. From the belt a grapple line is gained.
"Keep your nose clean, Catwoman." And as he says that he lifts the grapple line and triggers it, the device making a short sharp snap/hiss as the line plays out and the clasp grabs the lip of a building's edge across the street.
A last glance is given, then the line snaps taut and launches him into the air, that cape flaring once again as he takes flight up across the skyline. Then fading from view.
