Cast of Characters: Magneto, Rage

Magneto has posed:
It is beautiful, early fall evening. The sun is still up in the sky although it won't be for long. Shadows are growing and the air has that crisp feel of autumn. On the balcony over looking the city, a figure drops out of the sky. Not falling, but controled with the soft hum of static electrcity. He is dressed in a navy blue suit with thin pinstripes. Despite having been moving through the sky, he arrives looking as if he had just stepped out of a limo. He lands gently and moves his hand causing the door to slowly open.

Rage has posed:
It seems that Andrea is going to have another guest that will use the balcony, rather than the front door. The popstarlet is currently on her couch with a bowl of popcorn in front of her, wearing a pair of gray workout shorts and a baggy pink top that says: 'Love' on it in white letters. The TV is on with some type of popular Netflix series that she is catching up on. As the doors swish open and an alarm sounds, she whips her head over and reaches for her phone. The sight of Magneto causes her to pause, eyes widening. ".. Magneto." She breathes out with surprise in her throat. ".. Um.. Hi..."

Magneto has posed:
"Ms. Jackson," comes the powerful voice with still a hint of a European accent even after all these years. "I felt it was time to come see you." Magneto steps into the apartment but remains at the door with one hand holding one wrist just in front of him. "I interupted your concert. It was for my gain and my cause, but I still did that without your permission. That was rude on my part."

Rage has posed:
"Y.. Yes.. well .. I mean .. you /are/ Magneto.. " Andrea says as she swallows tightly in her throat. "And it's fine. I've had my concert interrupted by a Sentinel once, and The Reavers when they shot me in the chest from a rooftop." She taps herself with a pair of fingers near her shoulder. "So, I've had a lot worse. At least it was .. uh.. exciting... I guess. Should I get you some water? Do .. I .. bow... or something? I'm not sure what to do in front of the King of Mutants."

Magneto has posed:
"That does not forgive my breach of etiquette," Magneto says with a shake of his head. "And the fact that you have been interrupted by such people only reenforces my own transgression." He takes a couple steps into the apartment allowing the door to close behind him. "I did feel it was too good an opportunity to miss, and I do not regret what I said as it needed to be said. Still, I should have warned you first that I would arrive like that. Add in what happened following my appearance..." He shakes his head. "The humans only know how to over react." He finally shakes his head. "No thank you, and I am not a King of Mutants. I am the ruler of Genosha, but I do not stand on ceremony. Especially when I am not in my country."

Rage has posed:
"Well .. I suppose. Though the way you spoke that night, it would make one think that you have declared yourself the voice of our species." Andrea heads over into the kitchen, reaching into the fridge to take out a bottle of water, at least for herself. She takes a few sips as she listens to him, then glances back over. "They do overreact but I suppose they have no choice but to knowing that they are inferior in most ways. They're scared. The past has not been kind to them in regards to super powered individuals. I would have more sympathy if it wasn't for the fact that I listen to the voices and pain of many, many young mutants who are casted out by their parents, or assaulted at their hands all for being born different. But, we wouldn't be America if we didn't have racism."

Magneto has posed:
"I declared no such thing, Ms. Jackson." Magneto offers a small smile with a shake of his head. "I simply offer a path for our kind to walk. I will never force a person to my cause. I will never march mutants lock step with me as if they had no agency of their own. No, my path does offer my protection and my influence but it takes nothing away. It forces nothing." He walks further into the apartment and clasps his hands behind his back as he walks. "The humans are not inferior. In many ways, they can do much of what we do. They simply need tools in order to do it, and there are many more of them. No, my dear, they are not powerless or else I would not have a fight to take to."

Rage has posed:
Shrugging her shoulders upwards, Andrea says, "At one point in my life, I was really optimistic and open minded about the world. Now? I don't know. I still firmly believe in the Professor's dream and his idealogies, I am just finding myself growing impatient with the pace of this progress. I think my eyes were fully opened the moment our government allowed big purple robots to walk around our streets and murder citizens and then they do the bare minimum in trying to clean it up, or hold those who did accountable. They shrugged their shoulders upwards and blamed other countries. No one cared about us."

Magneto has posed:
"Charles Xavier would have us turn the other cheek in order to earn their respect," Magneto says with a nod. "To show that we can live together in peace. In my experience, when you turn the other cheek you get slapped for it. That isn't living in peace. That is living in servitude." He stops walking as he looks at her with a raised eyebrow. "I have watched the tapes of the concert. I saw your other self. I saw you jump into the crowd after me. Thank you for that." He moves to look out the window now but speaks up once more. "It will not take long for those robots to return and fill the sky." He turns to look at her. "As I said, there are more of them. They can build those things faster than we can populate. To simply look the other way, allows humans to gain the upper hand. It is much harder to fight back once we are under the heel."

Rage has posed:
"And soon as they touch down on the ground, I will be there to tear my claws into their big metal guts and yank out their extension cords." Andrea says with a rumble in her throat. "I rarely if ever show the world my true skin. It's not good marketing. Mothers don't want to buy albums and merchandise from pretty girls who can turn into monsters. I just let them guess. Miss Grey ensured that all the evidence of that concert was remvoed. I owe her quite a bit for that. Though I already see the rumors online."

Magneto has posed:
"Perhaps human mothers," Magneto looks back out the window, "but we need mutant artists as much as mutant fighters. Our culture has to be as strong as my powers." He looks back a her. "We cannot ever please everyone. It is better to be true to yourself. Be who you are rather than some fascade. We mutants will take care of the rest. If some protestors attempt to silence your voice, we will stop them. You sell your art to fellow mutants if that is all that is left although I doubt that. I saw the crowd that day. I think many would forgive, but only if you admit the truth yourself before there is some video that cannot be erased."

Rage has posed:
"I don't know. I am very, very controlling of my brand. I have a tight team around me that controls my narrative. When I'm ready to wolf out in front of the world, I am, but I want to ensure that I am set for life economically and that I have created as large as a presence and influence as possible. The world knows I am a mutant. They can just pretend I fly or glow pretty rainbows or whatever until I show them. I'm a very vocal and active in the mutant community. Mutant mothers should know where I stand. Combined with my charity, and the property I am trying to snatch up here to convert to mutant resources." She says as she offers up a smile. "My free health clinic in mutant town is approved, also thanks to Warren Worthington for helping me finance it."

Magneto has posed:
"So I have learned," Magneto nods. "I have researched you and your team. The problem with keeping that tight a hold is that it cannot last, and you know that." He chuckles and moves to sit down on a chair opposite Andrea. "Would you say I lack for presence or influence? Do you think I am not 'set for life'," he asks with an emphasis on the quote from her.

Rage has posed:
"It can't last, no, but until then, I'm going to take every advantage available. I have mutants on my team. I have mutants that will run the clinic. I have mutants I staff at my crisis hotline. I surround myself with 'our' people to not only give them careers, but to ensure that mutants are allowed to make business decisions in the industry that I'm influencing." Andrea's lips tug upwards into a grin. "Even if the label doesn't know that they are. It's none of their business and it's illegal to ask in a job interview."

"But, you just got shot at in broad daylight in public for giving a speech. Does that sound 'set for life' to you? You are a name brand, yes, but so was many other people that were known for using violence to create action or policy reform. I'm famous, you're notorious. People love me, you are the boogie man that humans tell their children about. You and I may be the two most famous mutants in the world .. besides Dazzler .. but cops don't shoot at me." She says lightly teasing.

Magneto has posed:
Magneto chuckles and looks down into his hands for a moment before looking back up. "Perhaps you are correct. Perhaps I am notorious, but if I am, it is because I stood for something. I know that I will anger half, scare half, but the other half? They will love me. Being shot at? It is a risk to be certain, but I am still here. They haven't managed to stop me yet. You have mutants on your team and in your businesses. That is what we need, but the more you lie about what you are, the more all of that will count for nothing when it all comes out."

Rage has posed:
"I'm not lying about what I am. I'm a mutant. That's all they need to know. They don't need to know I'm a werewolf, or the master of magnetism, or the strongest telepath, or that I fire rainbows out of my nipples. I may have like .. I dunno, sixteen million followers on social media? But the world doesn't need to know /everything/. I'm a celebrity. I need some privacy, some part of my life that is just for me. When I'm ready, I'll come out and show the world my teeth. Until them, I'm the adorable girl next door from Disney who sings love songs about boys and I speak about equal and mutant rights on live television." She grins.

"Wait until you see my music video award show speech. Who knows, maybe I'll get shot at." Andrea says as she takes another long sip of her water. "But if I come out of my furry closet now, I risk losing all the momentum I am making in trying to convince people, especially young people, that mutants are cool. Sometimes I wish I had rainbow nipple powers. At least people would make a meme out of it. But when I turn into an eight foot murder machine that are the stuff of horror movies, it's another. I'll get there in time, promise. Just not this moment."
