Cast of Characters: Supergirl, Rage, Barghest

Supergirl has posed:
"It's okay, Mr. Fuzzypants. I've got you. Calm down."

Supergirl was floating about twenty feet in the air, half in and half out of the branches of a tree. She was trying to grab an elusive fluffball of a cat who seemed intent on evading her by retreating further into the limbs.

"You're making me look bad," she murmured really low so only the cat would hear. It slunk away to another branch, arching up and hissing menacingly. "Come on. I bet your mommy has some good treatsy-wheatsies! Well not really wheat but something that stinks but for some reason you guys think are yummy. Maybe tuna! How about some nice tuna? I'll go get it if you will just sit still..."

Rage has posed:
Heading down the sidewalk is Andrea, who is aiming for her car she had to park a few blocks away due to how much traffic was pounding the streets. She had an appointment with an investor and after a quick talk, she left her manager behind to tie up any loose ends.

As she spies Supergirl floating in the air and trying to get a cat out, she slows down her step and then tilts her head upwards to it. "Hey." She calls upwards to her, then eyes the cat. There is a low rumble in her throat, one that bubbles up to a /growl/ as she narrows her eyes.

"Get down." She spits upwards towards the cat. There is that feral tone in her voice, one that shouldn't be questioned.

Supergirl has posed:
Hearing the greeting, Supergirl takes her eyes off the cat to look down. There stands one Andrea Jackson. THE Andrea Jackson. She hears the growl, unable to miss it with her superhearing.

Then suddenly she has a cat trying to bury itself against her body as it seeks safety from the big meanie on the ground. Supergirl wrapped her arm around the kitty, snuggling it close and floating down to the grateful owner standing nearby.

"Here you go. He's just fine. No cat skeleton in that tree! I mean, not that there would be. I've never seen one before. But he's safe. Okay, yeah."

As the woman gives her an odd look but mutters her thanks and heads back into her apartment building nearby, Supergirl glances over at Andrea. "Thanks. I was afraid I was going to have to resort to superspeed to grab him. You're Andrea Jackson, right? Like the Andrea?"

Rage has posed:
"I'm sure you could have handled it. Cats don't like me." Andrea says with a smile as she brushes some dark hair back over her ear. "But, yep, I am that Andrea Jackson, and you are /that/ Super Girl. You are amazing by the way. I literally look up to you. You are one of my idols. I'm just really good at playing it cool around celebrities.'

Sliding her hand into her pocket, she takes out her car keys, spinning them about in her fingers. "So, cats and trees, huh? Looking to put firemen out of a job?" She says with a teasing lift in her voice.

Supergirl has posed:
"I do what I can. If I can make sure they are available to help with other things, I try," Supergirl says with a little shrug of one shoulder. "They seem to appreciate it. And there aren't always big crimes and things going on so this is something I can still do to contribute."

She pats her costume, front then back, as though checking pockets on pants. Then realizes what she's doing and rolls her eyes at herself. "I was trying to find a piece of paper but no such luck in this outfit. I mean, if you do autographs. I don't know if you do. But I have all your albums. Used to sit in my room and sing into my hairbrush, pretending I was you."

Rage has posed:
"No one should be pretending they are me, singing to Backstabber. I was literally a dramatic teenager getting over my first huge breakup on the public stage." Andrea says with a laugh as she reaches into her bag and shuffles around a bit. "I got an unopened CD of my new album in here somewhere.. Ah! There it is." She pulls it out.

"I was giving a few of these out to some people today in a meeting and I had some left over." Taking out a magic marker, she writes: "I love you Supergirl - Andrea Jackson <3" Handing it over, she gives her a grin. "You okay if I get a selfie with you? I have this guy who does amazing prints for me and I wanna blow it up and make it a poster and stick it on my wall."

Supergirl has posed:
"But it was such a great song. Aimed at all those guys who break girls' hearts. I loved it. Not that I can sing. Not like you. I mean, dogs don't start howling or anything. Well, most dogs."

As Andrea pulls out that CD, Supergirl is not nearly as calm and collected as Andrea is being. She's practically hopping from foot to foot, her hands clenched together in front of her. As Andrea offers the CD, she just stares at it then takes it in a shaking hand. "By Rao, I will keep it forever!" Which could be a very long time with Kryptonian longevity. Then request for a selfie elicits a little squee sound and she gives a nod. "Of course! So weird that you want it for a poster. I never really imagined myself on one."

She quickly finger brushes her hair, as though it was messed up. Then she scoots over next to Andrea and strikes her best pose.

Rage has posed:
"Why not? They got Superman and Batman posters. But my walls were filled with posters of Wonder Woman. I remember being a little girl and seeing her on the news during an interview in which she saved the city. She saved so many lives. I wanted to be her so bad." Taking out her phone, Andrea leans in close to Supergirl and snaps a number of shots, just to make sure she had a few good ones.

"I still want to be like Wonder Woman, /and/ you. I remember when you hit the scene and you had that new hero look about you. I instantly fell in love. It was like ... /finally/ .. A /Super Girl/. Not just a SuperMan or a Super Boy, but someone like you. It meant a lot to me. It meant a lot to a lot of my friends."

As she leans back, she gives her a wide grin. "But, I became a mutant popstar. Ta-da."

Supergirl has posed:
"Yeah, so tough being a popstar!" Supergirl teases. Then she goes more serious. "Kidding. You have done so much for mutant rights. Bringing your causes to the light. It's so amazing and wonderful. I admittedly don't understand why there is such an issue with mutants and non mutants. I mean, I'm an alien. And we get less hate than you guys, when you were born here."

As for her being on posters, the idea never really occurred to her. "It's just a matter of doing what's right. You already do that. So you're already a hero right there."

Rage has posed:
"Not all heroes wear capes, but you make one look really trendy." Andrea grins at her. "I can see why people don't like mutants. Humans are afraid of what's different. You and Superman are like .. smoking hot and you wear superhero costumes. Mutants though? It could be your neighbor and he blows up out of no where and takes out a hundred people because his power was to explode. It's scary and no one knows what to expect."

Tucking her phone into her pocket, she gives her a smile. "I turn into a eight foot tall werewolf who can get hit by a semi and get right back up. I got big scary claws and fangs. The better to eat you with. I don't go public with it because it'd be a PR nightmare. Soon as it gets out, my career is gonna be over. They treated Dazzler like shit and she's an X-Man and has cute sparkly light powers."

"Thank God for Disney, right? If it wasn't for my career with the Mouse, I wouldn't have been as big. But, while I have the platform, I will do everything I can to ensure mutants are taken care of. They've taken care of me. By the way, I heard you made your way over to Xavier's a few times. I graduated from there."

Barghest has posed:
Alright, there was a lunch date and someone was late. Nevada's stomach didn't like being kept waiting, and okay, he liked to make sure his sister was okay too. He kind of liked her and stuff.

Having known the common routes she took getting home, Nevada was walking the sidewalk on the hunt for his wayward twin. He shambles his way across one of the crosswalks with more speed than he'd normally find comfortable as it turns yellow one step into the street, huffing quietly as he hits the other side. "...man, you're getting outta shape." He mutters to himself as he slows his pace and keeps on going.

Supergirl has posed:
"But it isn't right to just hate someone for being alive. Some mutants can't help what they can do. Others don't help matters, by being mutant terrorists. That doesn't help. You are no different from us. A lot of aliens have those sorts of powers too. Not just the pretty ones."

She gives another shrug. "It doesn't matter if your powers are sparkly light or eight foot werewolf. You deserve to be treated equally."

Then she glances over, where the phone disappeared. "Uhm, can you send me a copy of those selfies? Or at least one of them? The real Supergirl at gmail.com?"

Rage has posed:
"How do you not get spam on that email?" Andrea says with a laugh. "The amount of spam blockers I pay for is insane." She takes her phone back out and sends over the pictures from her own personal email.

"But, yeah, you're saying the right things, unfortunately, normal humans still panic when they are built like tissue paper and up until the last couple of decades, they were only scared of getting into a car accident." Her shoulders lift upwards. "I just try and stay positive and smile for the cameras. Show everyone that I'm a sweetie and no way a monster from legendary fairy tales."

"Speaking of legendary monsters, there's my twin brother. He's like me too." She says, waving her hand. "Nevada!"

Barghest has posed:
Hark! He hears his name, which must mean he picked the right game trail. "Hey! there you are. Was coming to see where yooo-- whoa." Nevada turns a double-take as he sees just who his sister is speaking to.

"Okay, that's a valid excuse for being late. Um. H-hii." He says in that friendly but equally intimidated tone of someone who's just met a verified super famous hero. "So, you uh... need me to go back thataway?" He murmurs as he jerks a thumb behind him. "Cuz I can if you two are busy. I just wanted to make sure she didn't get delayed or hit by a bus or kidnapped by crazy superfans."

Supergirl has posed:
"Oh?" Supergirl looks that direction, watching the young man approaching and giving him a bright smile. She raises her arm up, giving him a little wave.

"Nevada was it? Nice to meet you. You don't need to go anywhere. We were just talking. I'm a big fan."

She holds up the CD with the autograph. "She gave me an autograph!" She points at the little heart after the signature.

Rage has posed:
"He's a werewolf too, except he sees dead people and he ushers them to paradise. I go by the name of Rage, he goes by Barghest. Our father was a .. uh.. I guess the best way to call him is a mythical creature of lore or something. He gave up his powers to save my mother's life from death while in the Marines and passed on his gift to my bro, and I kinda got some twisty DNA in the process." Andrea says with a grin as she leans in to bump her shoulder against Nevada's.

"Nev, meet /The/ Supergirl. This is a top three day of my life right now. Oh! I do remember you at Superman's funeral. I sang the opening song during the eulogy. I left right after."

Barghest has posed:
"Oh I figured she was the real one." Nevada beams over to his sister. "The best of the fake ones is over on Fifth and I do mean she's 'fake'."

He turns that grin over towards Supergirl and gives a little half a bow."Don't mind the short version of our weird story. It's a mess and a half and I don't usher, I just herd. People die, they can get confused and scared and run and... yeah, ghosts are bad. Anyway! It's an honor. You're a bad ass and I'm entirely jealous."

Supergirl has posed:
"Fake ones?" Supergirl asks curiously, looking at them in confusion. "I mean I've seen people in the costume. Usually for parties and stuff. Especially for this time of the year, as Halloween gets closer. Didn't know it was a regular thing."

She shakes her head and focuses back. The compliment gets a little grin from her and she shrugs. "I just have been blessed with some pretty cool abilities on this planet. Same as you two! I mean it has to be pretty cool to change shapes like that. J'onn does that and I'm totally jealous of it. Course, he can kind of do everything so lots to be jealous of there."
