I need a superhero name now.
Date of Scene: 11 October 2020
Location: The Coffee Bean - Manhattan
Synopsis: Sandy finally introduces Hank to her best friend Jane.
Cast of Characters: Sandra Billings, Beast, Jane Foster

Sandra Billings has posed:
Staring at her coffee with a glazed over expression on her face, Sandy is looking exhausted. She has bags under her eyes from a long shift overnight at work. She is still in her work scrubs, her hair a bit unruly having most of it falling out of her bun. By now, word would have got around Xavier's that the nurse was caught up in some action involving a group of mutants that targeted an apartment full of innocents and set it on fire. She and Alexis, as well as a couple of New Mutants stepped up to try and protect them.

Sandy ended up with a gut full of diamond sword and almost died. Thanks to Shannon and Jane, she made it out. But, since then, she hasn't been her old spunky self.

Beast has posed:
The coffee shop has many draws for a man like Hank McCoy, but it's mostly Sandy that he's interested in seeing. As he arrives he takes a quick look around before spotting her and heading straight towards her, "Cuddle buddy!"

There's a look of excitement on his face as he sees his romantic partner, but it's tempered with some degree of concern as well. "How are you, my dear?" He leans towards her to try to give her a smooch.

Sandra Billings has posed:
Glancing upwards at the sound of his familiar voice, Sandy straightens up in the chair and gives him a smile. "Hey, Blueberry." She says as she leans forward to return the kiss, reaching up to stroke her fingers through his furred cheek.

"I'm okay. Just tired. Had a long day and didn't sleep good the night before. I should probably just burn some vacation days." She says with a sigh. "But with the holidays coming, there is always an uptick in patients and I don't want to leave the team short handed."

Beast has posed:
"That's understandable. Dedication to a noble profession is quite admirable, you know," Hank says to Sandy with a nod of his head as he slides into the chair next to hers. He doesn't seem to object to being one of those people who sits close to their paramour. "If you do take some vacation time we might be able to take that camping trip. Autumn is a beautiful time of year to be surrounded by nature."

Sandra Billings has posed:
Scooting in closer, Sandy places her head on his shoulder as she wraps her hands around one of his powerful arms. She lets out a soft sigh. "Yeah, we can do that. It'd be nice to just get away from this city for a bit. I'm starting to hate it." She takes in a deep breath, then lets it out slowly. "I just keep smelling smoke everywhere I go now."

Jane Foster has posed:
Speaking of work, someone is just headed in. Well, slowly making her way there. Jane always leaves plenty of time to grab coffee and get in a walk prior to actually walking to work when she can manage, and today is one such day. She's got on normal clothes but her work clothes are in the backpack she's got slung over one shoulder. She looks like she could have used another hour or two of sleep, but really what medical professional isn't probably deep into a week's worth of sleep deprivation? It's little wonder they all have terrible handwriting.

Jane is just headed in through the door when she spots her friend. More she notices the blue-furred man first because he does stick out and then Sandy by association, though she doesn't even give a second blink at the former as she blooms with a bright smile and a wave as she diverts her path to walk over to where she sits. "Sandy, hey! I wondered if I'd catch you here or at work. And good morning, Doctor McCoy. It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, though I'm well familiar with your published works."

Beast has posed:
"I'm so sorry that happened to you, my dear," McCoy tells Sandy with a sad tone of voice. His head shakes slowly from side to side, "I have a feeling you'll find yourself enjoying the city once more as you get some distance from the events, though."

"Good morning, Ms," Hank beams brightly at the person approaching him. He's quite happy to be recognized for his academic and scientific achievements, after all."

Sandra Billings has posed:
"My entire life I thought I was invincible." Sandy mutters under her breath as she gives another squeeze of her coffee mug, denting in the sides. "I don't know. Now I just feel nervous, when before I wasn't afraid of anything."

At the sound of her best friend's voice, she perks up a bit and offers a smile. "Hey, Jane. You finally get to meet the love of my life. Hank, this is Doctor Jane Foster. I do believe she is dating Thor." She teases her friend.

Jane Foster has posed:
"Yeeeeeeah." Drawls Jane with a long-suffering look at the tease. "Please be on my side in saying 'Doctor Love' is not an appropriate code name. He finds it hilarious, and given apparently all of the Avengers know about me I will absolutely crawl into that trash can out there and die if one of them call me that. My heart can't take that."

She takes a seat at the table so she's not just standing there drawing attention and look back over to Hank, "I'm a resident of oncology, so I got to become very familiar with your work while I was writing papers. But, I'm more thankful that Sandy's been so happy. She can't stop gushing about you."

Beast has posed:
"Ahh, Thor. Good guy," Hank says to Jane with a big grin. "I'm quite happy that Sandy has taken a liking to me as well. I feel like I don't deserve someone as special as her, but I'm not about to do anything to mess up a good thing."

Looking at Sandy he nods his head, "I understand, I think. At least somewhat. It's difficult to deal with major traumas, especially when they're unexpected. I can't say the exact same thing has happened to me, but I've been seriously injured a number of times. It just takes time, distance and sometimes a good listener to help you through."

Sandra Billings has posed:
There is a small giggle from Sandy. "Doctor Love?" Her brows lift upwards some at her, then glances over to Hank. "I'm totally calling her that." She says as she gives his arm another squeeze once her hands wrap around it. "I feel like I'm the lucky one to have met you." She tilts her chin to place a kiss against his shoulder.

"The talk of the Avenger's locker room." She grins. "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, Jane. Do you think they all snap each other on the ass with towels and talk about girls between beating up bad guys?" She pauses and glances over to Beast questionably.

"Do you guys?" She grins wider.

Jane Foster has posed:
Jane Foster does her best to stifle a groan because she's a professional, but the look is plain on her face as she squints at Sandra. Her expressions aren't so hesitant to show their opinions. "I'm also pretty sure those are classified secrets, but I'm also pretty sure we all know who's towel cracks the loudest."

"But no dodging." Her expressions soften as she follows Hank's line of conversation. "Still shaken up, huh? It's easy for us, who do the work we do, to put things aside when it's someone else. Not so much ourselves. Why don't you see if Claire can cover a shift or two for you? He's right, there's nothing wrong with some fresh air."

Beast has posed:
"Of course we do, my dear. Horseplay is mandatory for superhero fellows, I do believe," Hank says to Sandy with a faint smile on his face. "And some of us tend to be fairly good at expressing our emotions."

Glancing at Jane he says, "It's very nice to finally meet you as well, by the way. I don't know why I didn't tell you that sooner. Sandy's just so captivating that I sometimes I forget myself around her." A fond look is given to the woman in question, along with a smile.

Sandra Billings has posed:
"I am not that captivating." Sandy says with a soft laugh as she rubs the back of her neck with a free hand. "I don't know, Jane. Maybe. Claire is kinda overworked as it is and she has a hobby on the side that is sucking away the rest of her free time. I don't want to overwhelm her."

She reaches for her coffee again to take another sip. "I also really want to peek in on this hot superhero towel snapping action." She grins wryly as her brows lift upwards. "Maybe we can get Thor and Hank together for a round of rough housing in the shower and we can vicariously watch." She winks to Jane.
