Synopsis: James gives the students a lesson in the DR.
Cast of Characters: Warpath, Nightingale, Siphon

Warpath has posed:
Never a big fan of Halloween, Jimmy decided to open up the Danger Room for anyone that wanted to show up. He is at the main control room currently, setting parameters into the system and waiting to see who shows up. Anyone looking close will note he's probably had a close contact to fire recently. His facial hair is singed a little and his skin a little darker than normal, but he doesn't show any other signs of it.

Nightingale has posed:
It's rare that Shannon gets to bust out her 'bumblebees', so when word went out that there was to be a training session in the Danger Room, she slipped into the black and yellow uniform and just smiled a little bit. It was a rare point of pride for her to indulge in, and a cherished one. Pinning her hair up at the back of her head in a bun, even the little blue braid that normally hung loose at the left side of her face, she checked her gear and headed on down to the Danger Room.

Her smile faded almost instantly as she peers up at the control booth, and the state Warpath is in. "Whose tailfeathers do I have to kick, shik'isn?"

Siphon has posed:
Tabitha doesn't have a uniform, but she does now have some workout clothes. UnderArmor skintights with copper colored crop hoodie and knee-highs for extra warmth. New athletic shoes and her usual wool watch cap wrap it up. She's left her copper and black hair loose, trusting the watch cap to do its usual job keeping it mostly tame. There is a moment of hesitation before she taps the button to go down.

She had been a little surprised that she'd been included in the list of those who got notice of the session, but she wasn't going to pass it up. It's all just been practice before. She give Shannon a tiny nervous smile but otherwise stays quiet.

Warpath has posed:
"A fair question shik'isn. Better question being where is he now. Escaped prisoner. Powerful and able to mimic energy attacks." Warpath replies and the door closes behind Tabitha. Game on.

He throws a switch and the room around the two changes and they are standing at the beginning of what appears to be a large maze, a labrynth. Noting the new arrival he comments,"Welcome Tabitha. I'm glad you decided to join us."

Nightingale has posed:
There is a very low, dangerous growl from Shannon as she hears that. "Good thing I don't use energy attacks, then." Her wings are spreading out wide, feathers distinctly ruffled, the snowy white a stark contract to her black jumpsuit with the yellow X that reaches from her shoulders to her hips, in surprisingly flattering fashion.

The one thing that tempers her anger at this stage, is when she glances over and sees Tabitha. A nod is given to the other girl, and her scowl fades somewhat. "First time in here?" she asked. Looking around, she curls her fingers about what looks like a collapsible metal rod, keeping it at the ready just in case. Who knew what would jump out of the labyrinth at the pair?

Siphon has posed:
"Glad I got the invite." Tabitha does a nervous foot to foot hop as she pulls her gloves on. Other than the chalk white of her face she's all copper and black to match her hair. She half listens to the talk of the escaped prisoner, then shakes her head to Shannon's question. "Some of my powers testing happened in here. Safest place to test my absorption limits without breaking everything around me. First time for anything like this, though."

She has no equipment. Just her aura that wraps her body in a faint but visible copper glitter. Where it was only visible over her skin before it's now more of a tight coccoon visible over her clothing as well.

Warpath has posed:
Jimmy flips a few switches in the control room and nods,"We'll even the score later." he tells Shannon. He looks to Tabitha and tells her,"You only learn by doing in this world. If you want time to train here you can always come find me. If I am free we'll come down and run things for you."

Looking over the danger room he continues,"The idea is to get form one end to the other. No time limit this time because it is your first run, but there is a catch. Somewhere in here is the fabled minotaur. We are danger level 1 so you can't be hurt, so rather than that it is a game of tag. If he catches both of you and touches you, the test is over. If at least one of you gets through then the game is one. This is team work and instinct. Just because he finds you doesn't mean you're done until you are touched." he explains the parameters,"There are other creatures in the maze, mostly annoyances, but you can combat them as you see fit, just avoid contact with the minotaur. Are you ready?"

Nightingale has posed:
"And that's no bull, is it, shik'isn?" Shannon almost grins at that, a touch of humor lightening her countenance as she looks up at the control booth. The Minotaur. Not a small creature by any means. Nor was it likely he was any too silent. Looking over at Tabitha, her eyebrows flick upwards briefly. "Looks like you've been practicing," she remarks, allowing herself a small smile.

But were they ready? There was only one way to find out....

Siphon has posed:
"Thank you for that. I'm sure I'll take you up on the offer." If Tabitha could sweat she would be after hearing what they're up against. "So we're the Perseus Twins tonight? Fun." The sarcasm is strong in this one. Shannon's pun gets a groan and a quick smack of the arm. Any impact causes no signature reaction from her aura. She has been practicing.

Shannon gets a quick brow waggle before she closes her black eyes completely to focus on her other means of sensing the world and takes a ready stance. She's been practicing a lot. Now to see how it's paying off.

Warpath has posed:
A groan escapes Jimmy's throat and he shakes his head,"Next time two minotaurs." Of course he isn't being serious and he hits the start button. Somewhere in the middle of the maze is the sound of a bull bellowing and the floor has impact tremors, faint right now, but there none the less. The thing is big. The entrance has a long straight hallway each direction and no indication which is the correct way to get started.

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon frowns a little bit. "If I remember the myth, the Minotaur was at the center of the Labryinth," Shannon murmurs. "So the closer we are to all that bellowing, the closer we might be to the center. But, this is the Minotaur's home court." Looking over at Tabitha, she shrugs a bit, ruffling her wings as she starts down the hallway, cautiously, peering into each doorway in turn to see if any clues turn up. "Got any thoughts?"

Siphon has posed:
"Yeah, but I doubt he'll stay there waiting for us. And he's got friends." Tabitha tends to stand behind Shannon in social situations, but in here she stands ahead and a bit to one side. She knows who's the tank in this pairing and who's dps. As they enter she shrugs to Shan's question. "Pick a wall and stick with it is a basic rule of mazes." Her eyes are open again but now that her aura is up her senses of sight, hearing, and touch are getting 360 degree input. The next time the minotaur bellows she gives a full body shudder. "That tickles. And tastes like lemons."

Warpath has posed:
Standing in the control room, Jimmy crosses his arms and watches the pair as they starts into the maze proper. They can't see him of course, but he has a monitor watching where the minotaur is and where they are. The hallway before them leads to the wall and they turn the corner they see a long trek back across the room and pacing about midway is some sort skeleton. Currently he is walking away from them and he has some sort of club in his hand.

Nightingale has posed:
"No bones about it, I'm not keen on fighting any more than we have to," Shannon murmurs. Did she really just go there? "Because once we piss one of them off, you can bet their friends will come out of the woodwork." The winged teen is keeping her head on a swivel, looking for any more entrances or alcoves in which a new 'friend' could be hiding. "I'm all for trying to bypass this one if we can. You're not tasting lemon too much, are you?"

Siphon has posed:
Tabitha's head drops at the pun. "Yeah. I'm all for the 'sneak and live' strategy. But if you're going to pun at every enemy, I'm changing sides." Tabitha keeps moving to the nearest exit from the room, moving as quietly as she knows how and trying to keep behind Mr. Bones. She smirks at the lemon question. "Not so much yet. I'll let you know if it becomes enough to make lemonade."

Warpath has posed:
As they creep down the hallway, there is a door about midway that they can choose or they can try to get past the skeleton to the opening at the end of the hall to turn that way instead. If they are really wanting to stay hidden the choice isn't theirs to make as he stops and starts to turn and walk back in the direction the girls are in.

Nightingale has posed:
Yeah, no. Shannon was not about to fight this one, not unless it was necessary. "Come on," she hisses to Tabitha, reaching out to tug her off to the side and through the side door. "With any luck, maybe that walking bag of bones will pass us by."

Pause. "Not tasting any funky flavors in here, are you?" Because, you know, it's a Tabby thing. Funny tastes out of nowhere were bad news.

Siphon has posed:
Tabitha shuffles backwards from the tug, keeping her actual eyes on the skeleton while her aura senses prevent stumbling straight into a wall. Once she's through the door she ducks to break line of sight. "And if he decides to come this way we can just deal." She pauses at the question about funky flavors. "I'm a passive sensor, not radar, but I'll give a listen." She closes her eyes to focus on what her aura is feeding her. And at the next bellow her eyes snap open. "Lemonade!"

Warpath has posed:
There is a low rumbling bellow as the minotaur makes sure to let them know he is still there. The impact tremors are getting more distinct than before. Whatever else is in the maze, the minotaur is clearly present and moving.

In the new hallway there is nobody and nothing obvious. That doesn't last long as there is a creaking noise above the pair and ceiling starts to drop. There are two ways back into the prior hall. Back through the door they came in or at the far end going around the bend and into the hall with the skeleton. There are two doors beyond that are obvious and maybe more at the end of the hall. Decisions, decisions.
