Warpath has posed:
It wasn't too many weeks ago it was clear Jimmy couldn't shoot pool. Tonight, well it seems like maybe he took a little time here and there. He breaks a rack and sinks the two and three in the process. He nods and studies how the table looks. Sometimes people just need to look at it with Physics and patience. A lot of both.

Nightingale has posed:
A crockpot could be a student's best friend, when one's nose is in the books more often than not. The aroma of just such a culinary experiment wafted through the kitchen, and by extension, the rec room, when a familiar figure shuffled into the room. Shannon's dressed in her two-piece pink satin PJ's, floofy Old English Sheepdog slippers, and carrying a weighted backpack upon her back. In her hands is a large bowl of what looks like chicken dumpling soup, and it's from this that the heavenly aroma emenates.

For a moment, it looks as if she might simply find a quiet corner of the room to enjoy the treat in peace, but the sight of Warpath at the pool table elicits a raised eyebrow. Intrigued, she makes her way over to the pool table instead, observing quietly for some moments. "Wow. Your game's really improved."

Warpath has posed:
He walks around the table and glances up as she comes in. He nods towards her,"Smells good." He pauses and looks at the satin pajamas. He raises a brow at that, but the slippers get another look and he shakes his head.

"I was about to ask if the satin pajamas made me want to throttle a student, but the slippers make them less dangerous." he comments and leans down to line another shot. He sinks another and stands again,"I need them to make the table taller so I don't have to nearly lay on the floor to shoot."

Nightingale has posed:
"There's plenty more in the kitchen if you want some," Shannon replies. "If you want, I'll go get you a bowl?" The raised eyebrow and the 'who-do-I-have-to-kill' look has her nearly facepalming, if it weren't for the bowl of dumpling soup already in her hands. "These were just a treat to myself. Maybe I should go back to my old red plaid sweatpants and gray tank top?"

Warpath has posed:
"Better make sure it stays that way." he grumbles at the thought of little sister's honor and such. He walks around to the side of the table again and leans down to sink another ball, but this time the cue doesn't stop where he wants it and he sighs. He considers the food and shakes his head for now,"Maybe later. Thank you though." He winks as he adds,"Wear what you want, mostly it's my job to keep you on your toes and him looking at the shadows. It's a hard day's work when you're having fun as they say."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just rolls her eyes and chuckles lightly at Warpath's good-natured grumbling. It was his way, after all. "I guess we could ask about a taller pool table, but that's a standard-sized one. You're just a tall drink of water." She pauses, craning her neck in a slightly over-exaggerated way as if to peer way up into the clouds at him. "Very tall drink."

Companionable silence reigns for a few moments, as she enjoys her soup and observes the game in progress. "I think as long as he remains the gentleman he has been, then the shadows should be a comfort, and not a source of fear."

Warpath has posed:
"Regulation of course." he comments and lines up a different shot. He makes it, but this throws him away from the original plan even more. He shakes his head,"I keep meaning to look into the "tall drink of water" comment. Try to figure out what it means or where it came from."

"He remains a gentleman he lives longer." he comments and lines up another shot and isn't so effective this time. He scratches and goes to retrieve the ball,"The shadows however, are never a comfort for those that don't know their way around them. Wisdom is to respect them at all times."

Nightingale has posed:
Shannon just laughs, shrugging and shaking her head. "Your guess is as good as mine on where that saying came from. But it fits you well."

The nearly-botched shot and the scratch elicit a soft little whuff of breath, and a sympathetic wince from her. "I don't know if this will help at all, but you know how you're teaching me to step back and focus during blade training? Maybe see if that kind of mindset helps your game a little?"

The young woman just cracks a light-hearted smile at that, shaking her head. "Feels weird, being the one trying to teach you instead of the other way around."

Warpath has posed:
"Easier to learn from you than the Cajun as I understand it." he replies with a shrug and sets up a shot again. He studies the shot and the follow up shot as well,"Never think yourself too old to learn from anyone on any subject."
