Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Batman, Lois Lane

Batman has posed:
It might of been strange to Lois that a story actually dropped in to her lap like this, but as she sat at her desk she would have a delivery man come in with a card. Once opened it would be an invite for Lois lane at one of the fancy restraunts in Metropolis. It says buisness/casual, but simply says.. "I have a story I would like to share with you over dinner if you do not mind Miss. Lane." and it is signed Bruce Wayne. Of course Lois would know that name, and might even know about him being in town. If she was really looking she might even know about his meeting with Lex Corp though what it was about is unknown. The apointment is for the next day, around five PM.

The next day Bruce sits in the empty fancy restraunt grumbling at his appearance in the mirror he had the short well kept black hair, sharp blue eyes, and a black buisness suit that prob cost him way more then a normal person should pay for one with a normal blue tie. He puts the mirror away, and sighs wondering if he was too vague in the message, he had knew of Lois as well, actually followed her for a while, not physically mind you, but her stories and progress through the ranks to a reporter at the Daily Planet. He didn't have much to tell her, but it as enough that she could print a story on his failure, though he did hope to make a good impression on the reporter, as she did intrique him. So he waits for her to show, though the table is a simple setting, nothing too fancy as he didn't want to spook her. The whole restraunt was 'closed' to the general public as Bruce had paid them to do so with only two customers today, well two if Lois showed up.

Lois Lane has posed:
A card delivered to her desk at The Daily Planet. It's enough to intrigue the reporter and when she opened the card and read the invitation; well, call Lois Lane there. With bells on.

Like a good reporter she dug. She mined as many of her sources as she could to figure out what this story might be and why Bruce Wayne wanted to give it to her wrapped so neatly in a bow. Rarely do people do that. Especially the rich and elite.

What little she was able to find wasn't quite as enlightening as she would have liked, but Lois has worked with less. It's definitely not something that would stop her from showing up at the restaurant. And while there /might/ (possibly) been some dithering upon her outfit of choice, eventually Lois Lane did arrive, with a few minutes to spare. She wears a figure flattering off-the-shoulder dark blue dress, tasteful, versus trashy, a matching set of heels and a small blue and white striped clutch. The purse is large enough to fit a few things that she'll likely need; phone, small tablet and pen.

When she's escorted inside if Bruce is watchful he might catch the slight widening of her eyes - she hadn't expected it to be only the two of them. That surprise doesn't stop the reporter from moving forward, however, her walk neither hurried nor slow. "Mr. Wayne. Thank you so much for the invitation."

Batman has posed:
As she enters Bruce spots her standing up as she approaches with a nice smile. He wasn't known as a playboy for nothing though there were no ladies around, nothing to show that he had any one else in this place except from you two, and well a couple staff members that were well out of ear-shot if one spoke normaly. He offers a hand, "Please.. Just call me Bruce." he adds if she shakes his hand, or doesn't he would move to the table and pull out her chair. "Please.. Sit we have much to talk about. I hope it isn't too akward just being us in here, I thought it might be a nice change from normal." if she sits he would walk around to his side of the table. He just looks at her for a moment, before he continues. "Excuse me.. I must catch my breath.. I expected the trench-coat wearing, big hat with the card in it reporter. Though I should of expected more from the great Lois Lane." he seems to be telling the truth, he complements, but not overtly as he seems to just be telling what he believes is the truth.

He gives her a small shrug, "Anyway, enough of my ramblings.. I am sorry I did invite you here with the promise of a story, though I have read a lot of your work I never thought we would meet in person like this so you must excuse me." he opens the front of his jacket, and pulls out a Electronic data pad setting it on the table. "I will get right to buisness, I am here to represent Wayne tech in our new ventures, to do that we had to talk to a fellow buisness man named Lex Luthor." he nods to the datapad. "Inside of there is all the information on what we were asking him about, and what we were trying to get his help with.. Though he seemly turned us down, as our intrests didn't meet up." he sighs a bit, "it is too bad, I have heard he is a darn good buisness man, but I don't make weapons only things for exploration."

Lois Lane has posed:
Yes, she would shake his hand. Her grasp firm, though hardly over-bearing. She doesn't have anything to prove in that regard. Not for herself.

At the offer of using his first name, Lois can't quite stop the vague crooked smile that tips her mouth upward. "All right, Bruce then. Which means Lois for me." When he pulls the chair out for her, Lois will sit down, a quick murmur of thanks given. Her small clutch purse will be placed upon the tabletop, though off to the side and out of the way, for when food arrives.

When he speaks, her attention will automatically focus back upon him. Curiosity can definitely be seen within her blue-eyed gaze, as he mentions having much to talk about. It's, however, his question about it being too awkward that earns a hand-wave from the woman. "Not at all." She says, "You're not the first person I've had a dinner interview with - though perhaps the first person who rented out the entire space ..." She says, her mouth quirked upward into a crooked smile of amusement and while more could have been said, at Bruce's last statement, about trenchcoats and card carrying reporters, Lois laughs.

"Flatterer." She says simply, having in some way expected him to be quite the smooth-talker. After all, his reputation is quite well known.

Either way, when Bruce seems to get down to business, Lois Lane does as well. The curiosity within her gaze sharpens, as the black-haired reporter leans forward ever so slightly. When the tablet is brought out and it's made clear it's for her use, Lois will reach for it. The mention of Lex Luthor earns a quick look to Bruce, before the tablet is pulled towards herself. "What sort of business venture were you hoping to secure?" Lois will ask right away, before she adds, "And can I consider all you say here tonight 'on the record'?"

Batman has posed:
Bruce, smiles, as his food arives it seems wierd.. It is eggs, with chicken, and some lean ground beef with water. If Lois didn't know better that is the diet for those who are trying to build muscle, or keep it though he just cuts it patiently as she talks listening to her as he does. "I have no problem being on the record, but if you could leave the weapon comment out I would be apprecitive. I do not want to get into some contest with Luthor as what is important to him isn't to me." he gives a smile, again. "But that is a good question.. what buisness I was looking to secure was manufacturing of parts for a new design we have currently created." he takes a small bite, and nods to the datapad eating it quickly, though strangly quietly.

"Lois, I know this is wierd.. But I want to escilate our progress to living in space." he chuckles, and holds up his hands. "I know other then a satalite station for the unique people who live there we are a ways off, but I belive it is our future to live amung the stars, so I was hoping a good first step was to improve what resources we had exploring Mars. That is why I went to him, and asked for his help." he does give a slight frown, but nothing like he is angry or anything just more disapointed. "We do not have the room, or resources in Gotham for such a large project, though together with Lex we could have a rocket in space in about a year. All with Wayne Tech parts, and then given time we would be exploring mars looking for a way to exist." he takes another small bite to let this sink in. "Earth is becoming crowded for a lot of people out there, and they don't have a purpose, a job, or money so they fall onto hard times. This project would of created hundreds of jobs, and I believe eventually thousands as we moved to the next step.

This isn't for me to gain more money, I even offered Lex the ability to sell the parts he made, but this is about our future.. I wanted to help secure human kind into the future." with a pause he give a nervious laugh.. "I know I am crazy.. thinking ten to twenty years into the future, and space travel.. But someone has to do something other then think about themselves.. I hope that at least makes sense."

Lois Lane has posed:
The information upon the tablet will be skimmed and mental notes will be made by Lois to look at various snippets closer. For now, the majority of her attention is upon Bruce Wayne and what he has to say.

Her own food will be left to the wayside, for now, as she considers everything he's said. He might have noticed a few eyebrow arches from the reporter at various points of what he said; mostly about thinking ahead to the future. Playboys don't necessarily think beyond the current day; or so it seems to Lois.

"I can leave the remark about weapons out, yes -" Are her first words to all of what he's said. "- so certain people's fragile egos aren't overly hurt." Now it's her turn to ponder over what to say and while she does this, she'll turn her gaze to her own plate of food. Her fork will be picked up and while she brings it close to the steak filet, she doesn't take a bite. Not yet. Her gaze returns to Bruce's, "It makes sense, yes, and I think it's admirable to want to progress us into space - and to also open up hundreds of jobs, if not more. Weaponry aside, was that Mr. Luthor's only reasoning for ignoring this opportunity? I think you'd have to be crazy to not want to jump in on this."

And then, just because this is Lois Lane, she can't quite help a second crooked smile from tilting a corner of her mouth upward. "I have to confess some surprise here, Bruce. The majority of The Daily Planet was hoping you'd be announcing your engagement to some A-lister, not the potential of expanding Earth to the stars." There's a slight tilt of her head, amusement still easily seen in her movements, "And just so you know I prefer talk of living among the stars to engagements."

Batman has posed:
Bruce just smiles and watches her as she talks to him he is listening intently to her as she speak, noding at times though the last comment he gives a light hearded chuckle. "Why he didn't accept.. I don't know, really I don't I mean he would make lots of money, though he rambled about the linage of the Luthors, and thought I had some secret plans for Mars I think.. Though don't quote me on that." he grins, and wags a finger. Of course wether he ment it litterally might be up to perspective he continues. "Maybe it wasn't profitable enough, maybe he thinks I or my company are too reliable, but either way it is his loss." he leans in and whispers, "Off the record, to be honest the more I look into Luthor the more I think I might of dodged a bullet." then leans back with his smile never fading.

He continues, "I am going to start looking into other investors, Lex isn't the only one that could do this, but we will see. It might take years to find the funding, and the resources to do something this large, though that is the thing with long term goals.. You learn to be patient." and he chuckles again. "Miss. La.. Lois" he corrects himself, "I just want to help people, though many people in my situation feel they need to isolate themselves to stay where they are.. I hope maybe showing them what we can accomplish they will change their mind."

He then leans back, and looks at her at her last comment with a chuckle, and a shake of the head. "Lois, I have tried.. Supermodels, other rich families, and all it has gained me was a reputation." he sighs a bit, "Sure.. okay I lead the press on a bit about it, but most of those ladies you see with me are just friends. I don't mind shallow people, they are people too, but for something real the person needs substance not someone counting the days until you pass away before they get paid." he chuckles again though shakes his head. "Smart, independent, not for money, but because the relationship is special. I know I am wierd looking for something so specific, which is why I am prob still single. Though, don't you have someone special? I mean I heard you work pretty close with.. oh whats his name.." he thinks about it for a moment. "Clark Kent I think it was?"

Lois Lane has posed:
Bruce's opinion on why Lex Luthor didn't accept the business proposition is considered; it doesn't sit quite right with Lois, evidence by the slight frown that bends her lips downward. That nagging feeling is enough to cause Lois Lane to say, "While I don't normally give warning, tonight I'll make exception." The reporter says with that crooked smile of hers, "I'm going to reach out to Lex Luthor's press or media department for a comment. I'll keep the majority of what you said off the books with him, but I'll definitely be asking him why he declined such a potentially profitable investment."

Of course, the remark about dodging the bullet earns an eyebrow raise from the woman. "In what sense?"

That tablet will also finally bet set aside by Lois Lane, as she splits her attention between Bruce and her food now. The steak filet will be cut into more manageable bites as she listens to what Bruce says about his dating life. She's good at listening. Most people don't even realize how good she is at it - nor the fact that she often purposely stays much quieter than she actually needs to. Most people find silence a hard thing to deal with and as such talk more. Which is fine by Lois. It just makes her job easier in the end. "Not weird." Lois Lane finally says, "I think anyone who wants a lasting relationship looks for similar qualities in a potential husband or wife." Her hand reaches for the glass of wine that's barely been touched; because working here. She wants to keep her mind quite fuzzy-free, still one sip won't hurt. And that sip nearly goes down wrong when Bruce asks that question about her own special person. Really, it's when he says Clark Kent. "No." Wheezes the woman, before she clears her throat and says in something far more normal, "Clark is just my partner at the Planet. We're friends. That's it. There's no one special in my life." She ends with, her voice edging into sarcasm there.

Batman has posed:
Bruce nods, "Of course, but I will warn you he can litterally just say what conversation, and there will be little proof. I do not underestimate you though Lois, I have read your work I am impressed." he goes quiet for a moment to take a drink of his water again not use to speaking this much to others. "I see your doubt in your face about him I won't pry, but if he has done something to make you so untrustworthy... Then I must of dodged a bullet." he was also good at reading people. Their faces, the expressions they made it was difficult to keep a poker face around him especially if one does not think he is paying attention. He tipped his hand a little bit, but he hoped it would just be considered a neccesary skill as CEO would normally use.

He is quiet as she eats, as he normally is though he smiles and thinks about how to say the next part, "Finding someone like me has proven difficult Lois. I am sure someone such as yourself finds that same difficulty though." and gives her a slight smile on that one. He then chuckles a bit, "Speaking of your work, when I got your acceptance for such an interview there was something I wanted to show you. I didn't want it to effect your opinion of what I had to say so I wanted to wait." he reaches under the chair, he retrives a thin small labtop placing it to the side. "Please eat what you like I will explain." he notes as he also takes out a Newspaper. "I was reading back when your pulitzer. You talked to a few people down there, and it was tough times.." he nods to her article. "There was a boy you talked to, well a few years later I funded a few schools in the area to help.. Ends up he went to one of those schools." he nods to the labtop. "You can talk to him if you want."

Lois Lane has posed:
His acuity at reading her own expression earns a sudden thoughtful look from Lois Lane. It's clear she didn't expect Bruce to be able to read the subtly of her expression, especially when she's keeping her expression mostly 'professional'. That little tidbit of information is filed away for later consideration.

The mention of dodging a bullet does earn an actual flash of amusement from the woman, as she drops her reporter mask for a moment. "Possibly. I'm just going with my gut and my gut says something is off here."

Then it's back to the topic of relationships. Her expression turns slightly pinched as she mulls over Bruce's words. To say it's difficult at best is a far nicer way than what Lois Lane would describe it as. Between her schedule, her personality, well - it's hard for relationships to last for her. Not that she'll /ever/ admit that out loud. And thankfully she doesn't, not when Bruce segues into her work and something else. The newspaper and the laptop he brings out is eyed curiously by the woman, a few bites of food taken, but when he continues to explain that food of hers is mostly forgotten. Setting her fork down Lois will look between Bruce and the laptop for a few silent seconds. "I only accepted your invitation yesterday how did you -" Begins the dark-haired reporter, her eyes dropping to the newspaper a moment, before she reaches for the laptop.

Though that question isn't quite finished, she knows how. He has money and money is power and it gets a person many things in life.

Batman has posed:
Bruce leans back and listens to her quietly sipping his water. He smiles at her, and waves a finger.. "I can not reveal all my secrets can I?" as she opens the laptop, and on the other side is the boy from the picture. Not really a boy anymore of course, but he sits on the other side behind a desk from his room. The problem is.. he is currently asleep. It looks like the time here to there it wasn't too late, but it was night and the person on the other line had fallen asleep. Bruce looks surprised, and smiles a bit with a chuckle, "Umm.. well.. a boy does need his sleep" he adds not seeiming upset more amused by the this turn out. He shakes his head with a light chuckle, and takes another bite of his eggs. After he is done he speaks up again, "I am sorry it was supposed to be nice, if you would like to speak to him I can set up a call just not tonight."

He pats his mouth with a napkin before he continues, "It does seem I am going to be spending some time in Metropolis now that I need to find a new partner in this. Believe me I don't think Lex is going to like me after this, but I will be intrested in seeing how he reacts." he gives a grin, "I don't know many places around here though, usually I am in Gotham so this is all new." True he had a five star suite, but Bruce knew there were places that were 'better' as he had found those places in Gotham. The stories that he has been kidnapped a couple times now are public knowledge though so is the caped crusader that saved him. Still he was new here, and he knew Nightwing, or the Robins were not here incase something like that happened. Then he thought about it and grined. "Though.. I don't know I have heard about some major crime around here, could be dangerous."

Lois Lane has posed:
"Secrets." Lois Lane says, as her gaze shifts from the computer screen to Bruce Wayne. Her eyes narrow slightly as she tries to take the measure of this man. The /real/ measure. Because something about him reaching out to a young man she once wrote about doesn't quite gel with the playboy persona he often portrays.

His apology earns a vague wave of her hand, even as she reaches over to shut the laptop. She'd rather not wake the young man up, after all. "Don't be sorry and yes I'd love to set up a call for a later time. Perhaps morning or afternoon." Says the reporter with some amusement, even as she transfers her gaze from computer to man now, "Most people wouldn't have even gone to the length you did tonight. Thank you."

And thankfully, for Lois, the mood is shifted from somewhat heavy to something lighter when Bruce speaks of his visit here. "I'd offer to find some names for you, but I have a feeling you have better contacts in the corporate world than I do." A crooked smile lifts a corner of her mouth upward, even as she moves toward the topic of Gotham versus Metropolis. "Oh, I would imagine they're similar - at least, in the grand scheme of things. Good people, bad people, neutral people. All the same types as Gotham City. Though we don't have a 'Bat'."

Her steak is mostly finished, as is the sides, but that doesn't stop her from continuing with, "How long will you be in the city? If you have a free minute let me know, I can show you some of the sights. The kind that doesn't involve major crime syndicates or terrible 'danger'."

Batman has posed:
Bruce to your analysis is one of those people that smiles a lot, and way too light hearideated to be a successful CEO though you prob haven't seen his serious look yet. The /real/ measure, or Lois lanes natrual instinct is there was something more... He was smart, observant, and not narcissistic as this sounds. Though so far tonight it looks like he hasn't lied going with the honesty as he had nothing to hide. "Okay maybe not the most well kept secret, but someone owed me a favor, and knew the family.." he said in a lower tone smiling.

He looks to continue, but as he starts an older man comes in the door and gives a light cough. Bruce frowns, and slumps his head... "Listen I am going to need to get back to work it looks like they have found me." and gives a light chuckle, they both knew Alfred was outside heck Lois prob walked by him on the way in. "I need to go, but here.." he pulled a clean napkin over, and a fancy looking pen. "Listen, I know you work as much as I do, but I want to do this again sometime if that is alright? It was a nice time meeting you Lois, maybe get to know you a little better, do you like Rollar-Coasters?" he adds also as a little idea. "When you know just give me a call, it will go directly to me so feel free to use it whenever ya like." With that he gives her a small nod, "Good Night" and walks away towards Alfred. They seem to talk, and though Bruce smile with a wave he is being moved out by the Butler.
