Singing in the Park

Location:	Bushwick (Mutant Town), Brooklyn
Synopsis:	Megan catches up with Jay.

Pixie has posed:
It's a gloriously sunny day in the park, a day when mutants are out and about and enjoying the sun. With recent crises like the mutant cure no longer a threat, and with Dr Brightman working around the clock, perhaps crime rates are dropping just a bit lately. Today there are a little spring festivities going on, complete with a barbecue, wading pools, frisbees being tossed..Oh, and a little karaoke machine is set up where numerous people are taking turns singing in competition.

Megan is also here, wandering about, blowing bubbles on her fancy mega big bubble blower, having quite the time as she flutters around, chasing people with bubbles. It's nice to not have to hide amongst her kind, and she's wearing a bright green tshirt and denim cut off, bright pink hair loose and fluttering around as she spreads out those colorful glistening wings of hers.

"Whee!"

There's been little for Jay Guthrie to do in the last couple of weeks. After a semi-public breakup and losing a couple of gigs as well as the label he was working to sign with...well there just wasn't much left for the mutant. Still, he finds some joy in smaller things. Like the little festivities in the part. Jay's actually set up a little spot where he can play music for people to listen to when they tire of karaoke frisbee tossing.

He does, every so often, glance over to Pixie to watch as she flies and chases people with - of all things - bubbles. A shake of his head as there's a lull in people gathered so he sets his guitar aside, standing and walking over to the flying pink mutant. "Having fun, Pixie?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles as she spins and twirls, enjoying the spray of water from the wading pool as she ducks and darts to avoid people wry to chase her. She only stops when she spies a familiar red winged Guthrie, smiling and waving to him as she dips down to join him.

"Jay! Heeey, how you been? Is Andrea around too?" she glances around, half expecting the other songstress to pop out at any minute..Clearly, she hasn't heard the latest news.

Icarus has posed:
Jay Guthrie blinks and winces at the same time, trying to maintain his smile as that name is brought up. "Ah...no...unfortunately. She isn't.. well she and I.." He falters, shaking his head. "We aren't together anymore. So I don't rightly know where she is, Miss Megan." He offers in that drawl he has.

Taking another look around for a moment, he goes finally give a little more of a genuine smile. "It's nice to see you out here enjoyin' yerself. It's a nice day and this little shindig is likely just what some folk in this city needed." A glance back to Megan after a moment. "Where'd you get that bubble gun anyway?"

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn bliiiiiiiinks at that, and nearly drops her gun in surprise. "Wait, what? Ooooh nooo..." age sighs and shakes her head, wings dropping markedly at that. "But I thought...You guys seemed so...Aweeee, that's soooo sad!"

Shed ask where Andrea is, but best not to pry further. Besides, wasn't she touring out of the country or something? She'd heard some kind of rumour like that..But y'know..Rumours an' all..

Still, Megs smiles faintly and nods, "I'm doing alright, still trying to make a break through with my music, and of course, training with the Xmen and all..Oh yeah, I'm learning magic with Illy too!" yup, she's keeping busy.

"Hey, are you still playing wuth the Blue Pirates?" oh right, the bubble gun. She just giggles, hiding it behind her back. What a mysterious girl she can be.

Icarus has posed:
Jay Guthrie shrugs. "Things happen. What might seem nice and tidy on the outside, all shined up and pretty...ain't always as pretty on the inside." He offers and then gives a sad smile. "It is sad...but we're both moving on. Prolly for the best."

Still, Jay's got plenty of issues to work through. His brother is trying to help him, but it's all slow going. If Jay was walled up before - oh boy - it's ten fold now. Despite, he smiles and nods. "Well good. I'm glad you're keepin' yourself busy, Miss Megan. How are things at the mansion anyhow? Everyone doin' well?"

There's another pause. "I mean I still jam with them, but they're under Andrea's label and I... never signed. So... I don't think I'll be professionally playin' with them, no." Then the gun is put behind her back and Jay lifts a brow.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles, "I suppose that's true. The only thing constant in life is change, right?" she sighs and shrugs, it's a bit more complicated because she was closer to Andrea than Jay but.."Hey, if you need anything...You know, like a back up singer or something. My band broke up after we graduated from highschool, and it's been hard going solo. Butyou know other stuff too, venting, kicking butt..Anything.."r
She giggles, pulling out her bubble gun. "You like? I got it from some little market square in town.."

Icarus has posed:
Jay Guthrie shrugs and nods. "I mean I'm still tryin' to find my feet, but I will keep that in mind Miss Megan." Jay offers and then tilts his head. "Sorry to hear about your band..." Had he heard it before? Likely. When one is sort of beside themselves mentally they tend to forget even the easiest things. "My brother took a lot of my venting the other day... but thanks... I'm just tryin' ta find a place before she comes back from her tour..."

The bubble gun earns another look, and a smile. "It's cute."

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles, "It's okay, I mean, life happens, right?" she giggles and playfully sprays more bubbles around, quite enjoying her new little toy. "Hmm, that's tough, can you move back to Xavier'a? You still have a dorm there, don't you? Otherwise, I wonder if Roberto's company can help you find a place even temporary til you can find a permanent place?"

Icarus has posed:
"I actually think Roberto's company is doing some sort of housing for mutant alumni or...something. I'm going to try and set up a meeting with him soon." Which, for Jay, can mean as soon as, or never. "I ain't really keen on goin' back to the school...nicely tucked in my solitude and such. Plus...I don't wanna take any spotlight off Sam." He watches the bubbles. Smiles.

Pixie has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, "Right, he's been busy lately, oh hey, I work for him now too on a very part time basis of course, I'll put in a word for you." hey, it's a good starting point. As for the school, she chuckles, "Yeah, I guess you folks weren't real,y looking to be superhero types. It's a lot of work, tho things have been pretty quiet lately.."
