Cast of Characters: Thomas Raith, Wild Rose

Thomas Raith has posed:
The Blue Lady always had a line, sometimes along the block. But today the crowd of people had started to actually disrupt traffic. The reason had been on the Marquee. "This weekend only, Rembrandt 'the Crying Man' Brown'. It had been heavily advertised and allot of people were excited, including Riana's boyfriend who had one two VIP tickets on a radio call in. They'd planned to go together, but then a 'Work Emergency' had pulled Remy away. Still he'd insisted that Riana go without him after all, when was she going to get the chance to see the Crying Man live again? The Tickets would let her bypass the entire line and go straight in.

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana knew all too well about Remy's 'work emergencies'. Enough, at least, to not ask too closely until he returned from said emergency. "It's not going to be the same without you, cher," she mourned, as she prepared for the evening. Slipping into a simple, knee-length sheath of a 'little black dress', low, strappy heels that glittered as if with diamonds, and the piece de resistance, the ruby necklace Remy had gifted her--the most prized item she owned. To her, it was a little piece of his heart she could carry with her on outings just such as this, and wouldn't have it any other way. Pinning her hair up in a simple French knot, she gives him a kiss that could melt permafrost, and heads off to the Blue Lady.

This was no artist she'd ever heard of, but she did enjoy jazz as much as the next person, so, why not? It was a chance to get out, and to hear something that was precious to someone so very dear to her. The tickets were presented at the door, and she was ushered inside--much to the vocal dismay of some would-be patrons waiting in line. These were ignored, as she made her way inside....

Thomas Raith has posed:
The tickets get her past the door, a meal and access to the VIP lounge if she wants to take advantage of that... what they don't guarantee is a table, and those have been packed for hours waiting for the show to start. Still there is room at the bar and the view isn't too obscured of the stage. As she approaches, a man in an antique white suit just gives her a smile, eyes amused. "So you are either a fan of jazz, or have a fool for a boyfriend to not be on your arm."

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana turns towards the speaker, as soon as she murmurs her drink order to the bartender. One eyebrow quirks up, and instinctively, her fingers come up to brush over the ruby pendant that rests just over her heart. "A fan of jazz," she replies, the corners of her lips tugging upwards. "But my boyfriend is no fool." Even as she turns to face the man a little more directly, she steals the occasional glance towards the stage. Surely the band would begin at any moment now...?

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins a bit, eyeing the way she touches the pendent, and makes a not not to touch said pendent with a 10' pole. "Oh, Let a beautiful woman like you out of his sight, dressed to kill in a club full of people imbibing too much alcohol and letting themselves soak in the vibes of soul scorching music? Sounds pretty foolish to me." he says with a grin. At her glance to the stage he says, "About 20 minutes. Sasha, that's our normal headliner, is fan girling over Crying man. I mean honestly he could be her grandfather.

Wild Rose has posed:
Riana's cheeks flush faintly at the rather blatant flirting, but she smiles all the same. "The one who laid hands on me would find out the error of their ways very quickly," she replied, her voice even and just a little bit too calm. She chortles softly and shakes her head, that smile softening to one of understanding at the mention of Sasha's fangirl-ish woes. "One can hardly blame her, with the reputation for incredible talent and musicianship that Crying Man has." Her hand is extended in greeting towards Thomas, her attention turned more fully on him for the moment, at least. There's a hint of callouses on her knuckles, and her fingers remain slightly curled as if, perhaps, accustomed to fighting. "Riana Mackenzie. Pleasure to meet you, mister....?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith takes the hand, but rather then shakes it brings it up to his lips and kisses the knuckles and... okay some men, not all, but some can not /make out/ as nicely as Thoas Raith is able to brush his lips agienst her hand. Still he nods and smiles. "She's got her own album out. We sell it here. Honestly I don't know how much longer I'll be able to keep her. Oh, I'm Thomas Raith. The blue Lady is my Club.

Wild Rose has posed:
One brow flicks briefly upwards at the rather old-fashioned, courtly gesture, Riana's smile widening just by a hair. However, she does slip her hand free from his grasp as soon as is considered polite. "She'd perhaps be a fool to not stay," comes the reply. "Especially with a club quite so classy as this one. One would think any musician worth their salt would be glad of the chance to play here." Her drink arrives a moment later, a simple mojito, with the sweet scent of mint lingering faintly from bruised leaves garnishing and within the drink itself. She gestures towards the stage with the glass, before taking a long, slow sip of her mojito. "What kind of musicians do you usually have playing here?"

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith smiles and waves to the bartender wordlessly who takes out a highball glass, drops a few ice cubes in it, and places it next to a crystal decanter full of dark amber liquid. Thomas fills the glass himself as the one-eyed man moves to serve other customers. "Well Sasha is our headliner. Voice of an angel, body built for sin. She'll be doing Harlem on my mid later with Brown. But Nick Drago preforms here fairly regularly. We even had Dinah Lance up there a few times." He says with obvious, almost paternal pride that his Club has managed to hook such names.

Wild Rose has posed:
"Nick Drago, huh? Not bad. Not bad at all." Riana actually manages to sound somewhat impressed, her smile widening a bit. "It really sounds as if you love what you've built here, and looks it as well. To the Blue Lady, then, may she stand tall and proud for many a year to come." Raising her glass in salute, she takes another sip of her drink, while waiting to hear Crying Man take the stage.

Thomas Raith has posed:
Thomas Raith grins, touching his glass to her's and adding "And to beautiful women with foolish boyfriends." He says playfully, but then the lights dim and Thomas smiles, "Well now, let hope this goes well." He says with a smile as the Crying Man makes his Blue Lady debut...
