Location: Central Park, Manhattan
Synopsis: Kit talks to Willow about his magic and the possibility of progressing his abilities while he gets ready for his nightly hunt.
Cast of Characters: Kit Killovarras, Willow Rosenberg

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Though the sun hasn't set yet, it's getting close to that time and Central Park is fairly notorious for what happens when the light fades. Nestled into a small, rather off-the-path sort of area near a small stream is the Aardwolf that is Kit, sitting near a backpack, humming a little tune and snacking on something while he prepares for the night to come.

At the moment he's only wearing a pair of pants, his tank top and hoodie in the ground next to him while he wraps his torso, shoulders and arms in long bandages. He's wrapping them tight, though not tight enough to do damage and there's what looks like a steel, cage-style muzzle on the ground nearby.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow was looking for Kit. He'd said that she could find him in Central Park. He didn't say where.

ooops?

But she had some ideas, which she'd been checking them off as she looked at them. Nope. Too bushy.. Too open.. Too populated.. And so forth.

She was just about to give up, when.. she found him. "There you are!! I have been looking all over for you." And she came into the copse of trees.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
With his ears suddenly perked up, Kit glances over his shoulder and offers a warm smile. "Aah, I forgot to send the coordinates, huh?" he gives a little chuckle and sheepish little grin before he adds, "Sorry. I'm glad you found the place though."

He manages to make fairly quick work of bandaging his chest, though there are no visible wounds on him at the moment and the bandages aren't revealing any that might have been hidden under his fur.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Ah, don't mention it." Willow smiles. "Like you said, I found it." A furrow marked her brow then. "Is this where you live? It's almost winter.."

And despite her soft heart, she already had two people living with her. (Even if she could think of a way to hide his obvious mutancy!)

"I've been researching about your problem. Did you know every book says a different solution." Mind you she hadn't read *that* many books. Just enough.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit just shakes his head and smiles as he starts wrapping him arms, "Nah, it's not where I live. At least, not any more." he says, tilting his head a little as he adds, "I just like this place. It's calm, pretty and it makes for a good staging area."

Then she mentions his problem and he gives a little nod, "Probably because there have been a lot of cultures throughout history that have tried to figure out how to properly harness latent energy from various alternate dimensions." he says, as if what he's saying isn't abnormal in the slightest.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"It gets cold out here in winter?" Willow is not certain that even with his fur he would be comfortable.

"Can I sit down?" She remains until she has permission. "It's not nearly that simple. Most people can't do magic." And she had tried to disprove that. "When you awaken.. you seem, well, the general you, seems to have a particular way to filter magic. Most people. Some are lucky to be, well, kinda ambidextrous with their magic. I would have to figure out what resonates with you."

She doesn't say what her specialty is.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit nods ever so slightly, moving a hand to welcome her to sit as he explains, "Your welcome to sit if you'd like." he says with a smile, finishing the bandages on one arm and moving to the next. Apparently from how well he's capable of doing this, it's something he's either practiced or is familiar with doing.

"And yeah, most people aren't capable of magic. Those who are, often share at least a distant link to one of our bloodlines," he explains, again speaking as if this isn't the least bit weird. "I am Magi, meaning I was born with an innate connection to magic due to my bloodline. I'm the direct descendant of a pure-blood in my family line."

There are stories about people like what he's talking about in multiple cultures across the world. It'd be fairly easy to find old legends of people who are born with unbelievable magical power and here he is, admitting to being one of them.

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
And there was Willow. An anomaly. Neither parents had shown anything different - if fact her mother tried to kill her just for playing with magic. (Her memory was erased, thank goodness.)

Little does she know but she is very powerful. But right now she was squeaking along the edges of what she was capable of. Every time recently when she thought *that* was the new limit, doors would open on something else.

From someone who had taught herself?..

"What's it like? I mean, where you don't have to hide what you are from the ones who are.. family?" In the end, she didn't need to hide from her friends.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
"Honestly?" The aardwolf gives her a glance, then gives a little shrug and admits, "Until recently, my family is all I've ever known.. I may not have had to hide what I am from them, but I have been hidden away from the rest of the world for as long as I can remember." He gives a little shrug, checking the binds of his bandages, then reaches over and grabs the rest of his cloths - his tank top and hoodie - and pulls them on over the bandages. "I'd assume either situation though would seem lonely..."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"It is. When I'm with my father and mother, I'm.. Well, lately I'm putting on an act for them. They don't even know who I am."

For that? Her friends have been pushing her off to the side. She was always the good one. The one everybody had to protect. Had to keep innocent. Had to keep the way everybody knew her in highschool, while they got on with their lives.

Sure, she didn't have to hide her magic, but she still felt trapped.

"Where do you want to go from here?"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit finally stands up, giving a little smile to Willow as he explains, "Well, earlier you wanted to know what resonates with me. Perhaps we should start with what I already know?" he asks with a tilt of his head. After a moment, something suddenly sparks to life as he draws energy into himself, allowing whisper thin arcs of violet energy to skip and jump across his body, moving over him to a focal point at the tips of his claws. "And perhaps you could show me a bit of what you know in turn."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow sits quietly as he draws power into himself. Apparently that wasn't the problem.

"So, you can draw it up." And she nods, answering her own question. "That must mean it truly is a focus problem. Show me?" Her own magic is forgotten for the moment.

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit nods ever so slightly, then turns his attention to the brook, his eyes taking on the glow of that same violet energy as a fair sized stone suddenly raises from the water. There is no ritual, no motion, no movement to will it, just a thought and little more.

When it's been brought above the water enough, he lifts a paw, then drags his claws down at an angle, slashing four glowing lines in the air that suddenly fire off and gouge deep lines in the rock, one of them splitting the stone clean in half.

After a moment, the two half of the rock hover over, splitting open to show the stones core to Willow for a moment before they fit themselves back into place.

As a final example, the aardwolf walks over and practically paints that same energy into the stone with his claws, tugging back at it like a string after a few moments of painting, the energy seeping into it and mending the two fractured pieces back together as if nothing had ever happened.

He lets the energy he's drawing on fade after that, offering a little smile as he explains, "I've learned a couple tricks already, but what you've seen is the extent of what I'm capable of. I've been trying to learn how to focus the energy I use in other ways, but so far I haven't managed anything other than these four spells."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
She nods trying to get a sense of what he is, as opposed to where he wants to be. Sure, he does stone. Where does he want to be though?

Well.." Willow thinks. "You got a couple of things. Rock is solid. It may be you are needing to find similar magics. Big things. It may be that you gave the mindset that feels or understands magic or wide swaths of powers, as opposed to delicate things. Then you need to focus on big things. You can still work smaller magics but first you need to understand the basics of what you can do."

"But then again you might need to temper it down in order to make it more finessed."

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit listens and nods and when she mentions tempering it down? He tilts his head a little and explains, "Everything I can do is... rather simple. Conjure a blade, fix something that's broken, pick something up. When I start getting into more intricate details though, it takes me longer to accomplish something, if I even can. Like you saw with the attempt at an illusion, I lose control of it before I can even begin projecting an image."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
At that she begins to laugh softly. "Did you ever think that illusions aren't for you?"

As for tempering, Willow tries to put it simply. "You can't run before you have crawled,"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit folds his ears back a little when she suggests that illusions might not be his thing, but then they slowly perk up again and he muses, "Well, if they aren't, then I'll need to figure out what is." with a little chuckle. "But, there in lies the trouble. The only other person I've known who has this power is my grandfather and.. Well, by his admission he's taught me everything he can."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Usually.. you have troubles if you are reaching above your means, or reaching beyond the physical or mental capabilities of you. Picture you trying to do.."

Willow thinks, and is pretty certain she's got a fairly good example.

"Trying to use computers. In fact, using them for advanced mathematical theories. You couldn't. You would know how to turn them on. You could maybe be told what mathematical theorem should be used. But you wouldn't know how to use it. Even if you plug the numbers into it, it wouldn't make any sense to you. Forget about the theorem."

"Do you understand?"

Kit Killovarras has posed:
"I think so.." Kit says after a moment with a slight nod. "The problem arises though in finding out what I can and can't do." Then he leans down, picks up the cage muzzle from the ground near his backpack and starts putting it on, slipping his maw into it and adjusting the clasps around his head. "So, what we'd need to figure out is what my powers would allow me to do, rather than attempting things we're not sure I'm capable of."

Willow Rosenberg has posed:
That's where the problem lies.

"Perhaps you need to figure out what your priorities are. And I'll see from my end! Deal?" Willow smiles. "We'll work it out. Promise."

Kit Killovarras has posed:
Kit nods and offers a warm smile through that metal cage of a muzzle, "Thank you for your help." he says with a chuckle, giving a little nod to her idea. Then he picks up his backpack and adds, "Though for now, it's probably best that I walk you to the edge of the park. It'll be dark soon, so I'll be on patrol soon."

True to his word, he'll walk Willow to the edge of the park if she agrees, then? Then he'll get down to what he does every few nights..

Hunting down those who would prey on the innocent.
