Supergirl has posed:
A subtle breeze heralds the arrival of Kara Danvers into the public lobby's lady's room at the Galerie Bouxchampes D'Ignon. Star City to Gotham in the blink of an eye. We'd say 'a flash', but that particular branding belongs to another. When she emerges, she does so in a rather elegant (for a college student) peach-colored dress. A breezy affair with cut that emphasizes the musculature of her back. Its skirt hangs just above her knees and fits loosely, tapering at the waist and torso to emphasize the natural curvature of her feminine form. White heels and peachy, green-tinted copper accessories complete the look. She's got her hair pinned up in a bun that's more reporter-chic than lazy-student-funbun. Thank youuuu Anne Taylor clearance.

Reporters have to use every keenly-honed sense to zero in on their target. To find the scoop. The information. The -story-. Kara Danvers is, thankfully, innately bless to have -super-keenly-honed senses and, from across the room, she can pick out the voice of one Selina Kyle. Philanthropist. Collector. Benefactor of the arts.

Catwoman.

Kara moves towards the woman with a slow, rhythmic tap of her high heels against the floor and, when she reaches her, waits patiently for the woman to finish the conversation with those that have gathered around her. When the opportunity presents itself, she offers a big smile and an extension of her right hand.

"Miss Kyle! Kara Danvers, journalist for the Star City Gazette. Or, well," she pauses, and lightly scratches her cheek with her left hand. "...Intern."
Catwoman has posed:
Selina was dressed in a white button down shirt, a gray pencil skirt and black heels. She was the picture of professionalism, her black hair slicked back away from her face, but left down. Makeup was thick black cat eyes, fitting, don't you think? Lips are painted red and curved up in a thin smile, one that never really reaches her eyes.

The conversation she was having is finishing up, as she hears her name being called from another direction. Turning her head to the side she sees Kara Danvers approaching her, "Good Afternoon, Miss Danvers." that smile on her lips turns more knowing and she turns away from her former companion so that she give her full attention to the reporter... or the intern.

"What can I do for the Star City Gazette and its intern?"
Supergirl has posed:
Kara smiles softly and takes the offered hand. Despite the kryptonian's strength, her grip is soft, but not loose. Somewhere in the sweet spot of firm and warm. That hand is released and she turns to look over her shoulder as those Selina Kyle had been speaking with begin to depart. Interesting! Big blue eyes turn up towards the woman across from her. When she speaks next, it is with a somewhat softer tone. Her voice is musical and pleasant and, to anyone who might be listening in, would seem like normal and routine conversation.

"I'm investigating rumors about a piece of stolen artwork. One of yours on display in this gallery," she says. She reaches up to push her glasses up the bridge of her nose before dropping that hand to join the other in clutching her purse just above the top curve of her thighs. "I understand the subject could be... sensitive. You have my assurance that our conversation is entirely off the record," she says, and turns to look over her shoulder to where those who had been speaking to Selina are now chatting up some wealthy donor.

"Something was stolen, wasn't it?"
Catwoman has posed:

Selina elegantly turns her head to the side and shifts her eyes just enough to see that those that were behind her were departing and moving away from the conversation she was having with Kara. When she is pleased enough to see them give them some distance, she looks back at Kara, "Off the record?" Selina says, "My, something I never would think I'd hear a journalist say." Hands clasping, linking them together by interlocking her fingers and letting them loosely fall in front of her.

"Just to make it clear, it wasn't not one of mine, but I was in possession of it when it was taken. It actually belonged to a Mr. Falcone." She mentions the well known mobster. "He had put it up for auction." There is a more exaggerated sigh that seems just a touch too practiced, "But yes, It was stolen." Shaking her head, "Such a pitty, it was a beautiful piece that would have brought a lot of money."
Supergirl has posed:
"Well," Kara says, with a hint of humor to her voice, "I'm only an intern." That tiny little smile vanishes from her lips a moment later when Selina begins to speak. Her blue eyes are sharp. Alert. Astute. They follow the anatomy of Selina's arms down her bicep and forearm to where her fingers link in front of her, and then lift back up to meet her gaze. She briefly narrows her gaze as she considers the words that Ms. Kyle is saying, and cants her head at a curious, cat-like angle a moment or two later.

"It's not often that art goes missing. It's difficult to sell and entirely too traceable," Kara muses, and lifts her hand to delicately tap her index finger against her top and bottom lip. If she's suspicious of Selina in any way, it's not immediately obvious on her face. And, truly, one as attuned to the arts of subterfuge as Selina can likely discern that Kara Danvers wears her heart on her sleeve and, for the most part, is a terrible liar.

"Mr. Falcone was the artist?" Kara asks, ever inquisitive.
Catwoman has posed:

A look of confusion crosses Selina's features, her eyebrows drawing together and her lips slips from that smile she had plastered on her face, "You do not know who Mr. Falcone is?" Indeed, that was very interesting. "So, very interesting." she says outloud. "However, to answer the question Miss Danvers, no, he as not the artist, he was the own of the piece of art." To further explain she says, "It had been donated by Mr. Falcone... or one of her representatives." Lackies was probably the better word... but she was attempting to be professional.

Tossing her head to the side, she moves hair that was falling over her shoulder back to its rightful place behind her. "The fundraiser was support of the Gotham Police Department. Any and all funds that were gathered from these items would have gone directly to the Police Station. Given the quality and appraisal of the art work, Mr. Falcone donate, it would had made a sizable donation to the Police." and with words unspoken, would have put the Police in the debt of Mr. Falcone himself.
Supergirl has posed:
Falcone. Falcone. Falcone.

Kara's eyes flicker over Selena's expression of confusion and her cheeks take on a slightly darker shade. Oh. -That- Falcone. "Oh. -That- Falcone," Kara repeats her internal dialogue out loud and she shakes her head. Chalk it up to some combination of youthful exuberance mixed with inexperience. Her embarrassment passes moments later, and she's back to carefully listening along to Selina's words and nodding as she does.

"I see. That sort of donation would hold a considerable amount of sway and... influence," Kara observes astutely. A long pause, and then Kara Danvers' face grows a touch more severe. For a brief moment, there are shades of another woman on that face. Little whispers of it. But just as quickly as those whispers bubbled to the surface, they're gone.

Kara Danvers smiles sweetly. "I'm sure Mr. Falcone is quite upset about it. Have his representatives come... looking for it?" she asks. Subtext written between the lines.
Catwoman has posed:

Ahhhh... there it is the light turns on for miss Danvers and Selina smiles at recognition finally takes hold in the woman's mind, nodding slowly in response to her understanding. "Yes, that one."

Patiently she waits for more questions to follow, though they are more statements than questions and Selina can only nod and agree with everyone that she mades. "Indeed." And because she was not putting more information out there than needed to be, especially with a reporter, she remains silent in wait for more.

"Yes, of course." That brings humor to the woman, but not because of the question, but because of the memory that its attached to. "Me. Falcones men came and search the place from top to bottom, they couldn't find a thing. Which was frustrating for all parties." Was she including herself in that? Probably not. "Whom ever took the painting clearly knew what they were doing and left no trace of of the theft."

"I'm sorry." she says a moment later, "I never thought to ask you if you needed refreshment? Would you care for a drink? champagne? Water?"
Supergirl has posed:
"Well. I suppose it's a cold case, then. It's a shame that such a precious piece of art could just disappear out of thin air," Kara says thoughtfully, but she nods a moment or two later. It's as if the young Kryptonian is resigned to it. The question of refreshment makes Kara's eyes briefly widen and, for that moment, she seems as if she doesn't know exactly what to answer. There's a certain... imposter syndrome that happens when you're an un-rich girl surrounded by actual rich girls and, truthfully, she doesn't know the 'correct' answer.

What would a cool person do? What would an -adult- do?

"Champagne sounds nice," she says. And it's true. Champagne -does- sound nice. Bubbly and bright and fizzy, and likely a far cry from the Prosecco they pour into bottomless mimosas at her favorite brunch place.

"Oh, but Miss Kyle. I do have one more question," she says in stride as the two make their way towards where the fluted champagne glasses are being served.

"Was it a nice painting?"
Ivory has posed:
The gallery door opens for a few moments as a white haired head slips in, black jacket on the frame, the back of it carying an embrodied black kitten sitting on a rooftop. In the hands they carry a paper bag with some coffee shop's logo and a double-tray with coffee cups in the other. How did they open the door? Probably with the backside or elbow.

"Your coffee, Miss Kyle." they announce as they offer the tray, indicating the cup with the crosses in the milk-coffee box. "I asked them to make it extra foamy." The other cup is marked with an atrocity to many coffee affectionados: White chocolate mocca, extra sweet, extra creamy, extra white.

As she then gets close enough to notice Kara, giving her a nod. "Oh eh... if you want a coffee... Or should I get something different from the fridge?"
Catwoman has posed:
"Of course." Selina says as the offer of champagne is taken. A smile curving her lips once more. Before she can summon someone, she sees Ivory coming towards her. The coffee is offered, just the way she likes it. It was still steaming and there was lots of foam. Puuuuurfect. "Thank you Ivory." she says with a wide smile.

After taking her own coffee, she takes the moment to take a sip, careful not to burn herself. "Mmm.. Yes.. That is delightful." Licking her top lip to get any foam off of it. "Could you ask someone to get Miss Danvers here a glass of champagne?" not asking Ivory specifically to do it, but to order someone else to.

Once that is done, she looks back to Kara at her mention of one more thing, waiting, and at her question she pauses. But only for a moment, "It was stunning, it would take someones breath away." Did she suspect that Selina had taken it? Or just that she'd seen it before it was taken?
Supergirl has posed:
Kara watches the exchange between Ivory and Selina. Coffee?! There was a third option?! There's a soft little rush of air from the young woman's throat -- a genuine sigh -- but that brief flicker of anxiety vanishes from her face as quickly as it arrived there. She knows, after all, that she doesn't actually drink coffee. "Oh, if it's not too much trouble," Kara adds on at the request to have someone fetch her the champagne. Though, to be truthful, she can spot at least three different waitors and waitresses walking around with trays filled with champagne flutes.

When Selina answers her question, Kara betrays nothing on her face. Just a fond little smile and a nod of her head. "Well, I hope it's being appreciated, wherever it is. I'd like to see it myself some day. They say you can't put a price on art, but I suppose the Gotham City Police and Mr. Falcone might have some... philosophical disagreements with that one," she adds.

To Ivory, Kara turns and gives that bright-and-cheery smile that she's known for. She even sticks out her hand in greeting. "Kara Danvers! It's nice to meet you, Ivory!"
Ivory has posed:
Watching as Selina takes her coffee, Ivory nods after a few moments, waving at one of the servers to hand them the paper bag. "Would you put the snack into the fridge as you go and grab some champagne for Miss Kyle's guest? The bottle with the silver label?"

Just then Kara says something behind them, making them spin around. "Oh, did you just call me Ivory? Oh right, Miss Kyle mentioned my name. True. Nice to meet you miss Danvers. I'm Ivory Valentine."
Catwoman has posed:
Selina enjoys her coffee as Ivory makes sure that her orders about Kara's champagne is delivered. From the to-go cup, she takes another drink. "I'm sure it will be appreciated or at least sold for a better cause." The missing painting in question. A smile slips on her face. "Have you had the pleasure of meeting Bruce wane?" The question may cause for surprise but its for a purpose. "He was also troubled by the the disappeance."
Ivory has posed:
As Kara slips over to pick up the glass from one of the servers, Ivory raises their eyebrows to Selina. "Mister Wayne? You mean the Wayne Enterprises Waynes, yes? The magnate in shipping, construction, metal fabrication and quite a few other industries, right? I heard he is kind of a philantrope."
