Cast of Characters: Star Sapphire, Booster Gold

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire isn't shy about liking Booster Gold. He's a lug, but he has a good heart, and there are few things Star cares about more than a good heart. They've been meeting up semi-regularly for a while now, less often to do anything specifically heroic than to just talk; so it seems inevitable that they'd be together one day when crime happens: a little girl calling herself Tantrum, a metahuman who seems to have super strength or shockwave powers or something (basically, when she hits a thing, that thing goes flying) has decided, for reasons best known to herself, to tear down a block or two of Hell's Kitchen.
Flying overhead, the heroes can see the damage is bad, but fairly superficial: cars overturned, buildings defaced, new cracks in the street, but so far nothing that looks structural. Smart people are evacuating nearby buildings. Less smart ones are leaning out of windows to film the girl whose every stamped foot breaks more street.
"I'm on rescue detail, can you stop the girl?" Star Sapphire asks, a bit curtly. It's the circumstances.

Booster Gold has posed:
"Wh-- stop her? With what, harsh language?" Booster asks, boggling a little at her off the cuff suggestion. The damage is probably worse looking than it actually will prove out to be, but the little girl's done a fair amount of carnage in a very short amount of time and it looks like one hell of a mess.

"I don't wanna hit a little kid," Booster says, a little surly at being tagged with the heavy lifting-- still though, Star can hold up those collapsing buildings. Booster can only flex at them if the core girders start to list and snap.

He soars around the block just below roof level, following the source of the most recent din, and spots Tantrum throwing her little fit. Booster soars nearby, lights glinting off of his golden armor, and hovers where she can see him (but, crucially, not /reach/ him).

"Uh... hey there, lil'... Tantrum. You, uh, feel like talking a little bit with your good buddy Booster Gold?"

Star Sapphire has posed:
"You'll do what you can," Star Sapphire tells Booster serenely, lots of faith in him as she soars away from him and away from the street to the come up as best she can behind the nearest occupied buildings. She could do her work from the front, and more easily at that, but who knows if seeing someone working to thwart her would make Tantrum step up her destruction? Best for now to go building to building looking for people to evacuate...
Building to building? Oh no, what if this isn't just some metahuman getting out her crazies, but cover for some bigger plot? Well, no help for it now. Too many people to evacuate. Star Sapphire ducks into the first brownstone and starts going door to door, looking for people to send out the back.

Booster Gold has posed:
Tantrum looks up at Booster with rage in her mascara-smeared eyes. She's dressed like a just barely pubescent girl had just raided the local Hot Topic; or had thrown on a classic 'bad girl' leotard, then in a fit of self-induced body shaming, covered up with whatever was handy. It's a strange grunge sort of look that absolutely fails to deter from the fact that when she touches a car with one hand, her kinetic talents send it flying fifteen feet horizontally.

"Who's Booster? What kinda dumb name is that?" she sneers, with the rage of the teenager in her beady, black little heart. "Is it because you slapped cheap gold paint on a crappy football uniform?"

Ouch! "Hey, that's not very nice," Booster tells her, warningly. "This happens to be armor from the far future-- four hundred years!" he declares, jabbing a thumb at his chestpiece. "You WISH you seen something this cool!"

"Whatever, LOSER Gold," she sneers. Booster's eyes narrow.

"Kinda big talk from a kid who looks like she let her closet puke on her," he shoots back.

"Like you're one to talk, you look like a cheap Persian humvee!"

Booster doesn't... really /get/ that insult, but the tone says it all! "And you're dressed like a Halloween costume contest reject!"

Booster Gold and Tantrum resort to name calling in the middle of the street for a few minutes, buying Star time to evacuate people; though it's pretty unlikely this is bold strategy on his part.

Star Sapphire has posed:
Star Sapphire does her best to keep evacuating people while Booster enacts his brilliant strategy. It's not the most exciting heroics, but it's the kind she's best suited for; a love-powered ring requires pretty specific circumstances to be a good weapon. While she does her thing, Booster and Tantrum continue their fight, but at least it's just a fight of words. At least Tantrum isn't saying things like, "Oh please, look at you, you're basically an Aryan poster boy, I should wipe you off the face of the Earth and do the world a favor," before kicking her toes up into the rear bumper of a nearby Nissan sedan to lift it three feet in the air; three feet before she punches it hard enough to crumple the frame and send it flying up through the air at Booster like the world's most dangerous billiard ball. Booster Gold, corner pocket.

Booster Gold has posed:
Booster goes 'Ack!' in his most heroic idiom and catches the car. It promptly overloads his flight ring, but his armor flexes mightily and his forcefields flicker to soak the brunt of the energy; light cascades around him with a snap of ozone, and then Booster's on the ground and holding the car in his hands. Gloves dent the hood before he sets it carefully down, and he scowls at Tantrum, charging the blasters in his gauntlets.

"Look kid, I can see you're having a bad day. I get it! But, uh, this? This isn't gonna end well for you. I can blast you into next week if I have to, and my buddy Star Sapphire could do a double-whammy that'll leave you feeling like the only thing in the world is ice cream and your... uh..."

<<The Cure, sir!>>
