Synopsis:	Jean tests the new mutant

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Copycat, aka Vanessa Carlysle has only recently joined Xavier's school, at least officially. As a fellow mutant with ties to some of the current mutants, it was relatively easy to track her down and welcome her to the school. \<br\>\<br\>However, Jean is still curious about her abilities and capabilities. How much does she know, is she competent enough to be an Xman and does she possess enough control over her potentially dangerous powers to not be a threat to herself or others?\<br\>\<br\>And so she invited her down to the danger room, so she could do a proper assessment of her abilities.\<br\>\<br\>The danger room can be many things, a quiet, peaceful stroll on a beachside, or an apocalyptic hellish dimension. As Vanessa steps into the room today, it is a cold, snowy landscape that greets her, one full of mountain peaks and narrow winding trail overlooking a precipice. Hey, this actually looks a lot like the hiking trails up in Westchester mountains.\<br\>\<br\>Up above in the control room, Jean does not participate, but watches, starting out with a low level setting and working from there. Of course, she had invited others to join in if they choose. Either as team mates or potential opponents, only time will tell.

Copycat has posed:\<br\>for her own part, she just looks up and cocks her head " Okay, so umm, you know I need somebody else for my powers, right .. I mean, I can shift into my normal human-looking self, but that's about it " She shrugs, looking up with those red eye's " What we gonna test? " . She rubs her neck " I'm still kinda new to this " .

Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie steps into the room. For now, he is just there for the woman to be able to copy his powers. He leans against the wall and says "Ah think thats what Ah am here for now."

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey's voice comes out on the PA system. "You will not always have allies around to copy their powers. Sometimes you will be required to rely on your own skills and abilities." she replies.\<br\>\<br\> "This is why learning self defense and improvising are useful tools." However, for today, it seems that Sam has made it, and she smiles, "Today you are fortunate, you will be working with Sam, aka Cannonball..Be ready. Your trainig is about to begin.."\<br\>\<br\>And with that, she presses another button on the control. A low growl can be heard from the suddenly erupting blizzard that surrounds both Copycat and Cannonball. multiple growls follow, they seem to be coming from all sides. And then without warning about six massive white furred wolves spring from the snowy veil, leaping at the two mutants with bared teeth and razor sharp claws!

Copycat has posed:\<br\>Copycat Squeals " Hey I thought this was an assessment trying to find out what my powers are not trying to kill me! " She runs towards Sam.. clearly not happy " I had enough of this shit with Wade ". She can pick up some of sams power but not much so she runs to try and grab his hand .. after all, touching improves things for her.. always has!

Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie will take her hand for a moment, but he is guiding her to back to back with him. For now, Sam is trying not to use his powers, letting Copycat take the power front. He has been doing these type of things for years now, and had learned from many different X-men. "So whats the plan he asks." As he dodges one of the wolves.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey narrows her eyes. "If you wish to be an Xman, you will have to prove yourself. This is the beginning level. There are always safety checks in place if you find yourself in over your head. Simply yell 'End Program!' if you feel your life is in danger." she smiles, "However, I hope you will prove yourself worthy of the title 'X-man'."\<br\>\<br\>The wolves will land, barely missing her, although they do not give up the chase, lunging at her and Sam again, jowls drooling and hungry for tasty mutant meat to sate their appetites. The two mutants are surrounded and there's not a whole lot of place to run except up as they tighten their circle around them.\<br\>\<br\>Mention of Wade does cause her to arch a curious brow, not entirely clear on her past history with Deadpool, but it's worth looking into.

Copycat has posed:\<br\>Holding his hands she blinks a second and Twists suddenly, she fires out a Bio-Kinetic blast Right at the wolf, She does this while holding his hand and takes off into the Air, dragging him with her holding his hand " Hang on ! " she says using Sams power just like himself.. Launching blasts from the Air with her one free hand! \<br\>\<br\>     She Looks over " You told me assessment not xmen assessment.. I thought you were gonna help me learn my powers " .

Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie nods as she takes him blasting. He looks about and says "So, you when you copy powers, do you know how to use them to the best way, how they know how to use them, or just a basic knowledge?" At the blasts, he thinks he has a bit of an idea on that

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey nods, making some adjustments, "This is an assessment of your powers, Cooycat. I want to see what you are capable of, and what your limits are. We can go from there."\<br\>\<br\>When Copycat sends out blasts, some of the wolves shriek in agony, some getting blasted out of the way, some darting away to safety.\<br\>\<br\>"Good job, however, how safe are you in the skies? Do you know where you are going?" she types some more into the control panel and a bright green X shows up on a distant mountain peak, "See if you can reach that summit to pass this level. But be careful, it won't be easy going."\<br\>\<br\>As Vanessa launches skywards, she is clear of the wolves but the temperature is painfully freezing and the air is thin this high above the mountains. The storm grows steadily worse, violent winds whipping around chunks of hail and blinding snow. Can she steer just as well under these conditions? The light of the green x is all but vanished in the current blizzard.

Copycat has posed:\<br\>She blinks but like Samuel as long as she's blasting, she's invulnerable " I dunno, I know about as much as you do," she says " I'm copying your power, not taking it . " she sighs, " I'm the more literal .. I dunno god damnit. Why is everybody asking me like I know the answers.. I'm here to find out " She Can't see so she frowns she slows down not wanting to hit something but at least the cold isn't affecting her thanks to the shields she looks to sam " You okay? " she asks him " I can let go of you hand now " she says \<br\>\<br\>     " I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail this " She looks around trying to find the x

Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie nods, and waits for her to let go of his hand and then kicks in his own blast field, and says "Ah am just asking what you have learned from your experience using it. When Ah first for my powers, trying to turn was not something Ah did well. And if you think your going to fail, you will you got to keep trying, stay positive, or if not positive at least pissed.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey continues to watch and make notes from her perch up in the observation room. Copycat is definitely invulnerable or mostly, to the cold and razor sharp chunks of ice that crash down on the both of them..But can she master steering before she gets lost in the blinding windy storm?\<br\>\<br\>"You will have five minutes to reach the green X if you wish to pass this trial. If you fail, it simply means more training is required before you can proceed to the next level. Take it easy.."

Copycat has posed:\<br\>The thing is, she is just as good as sam After all, she has his memories and powers on how to use them.. So she does, flying right towards the x or the last place she spotted it she has his sense of direction.. her own would be shot, but she pulls on his courage and flys at extreme speeds towards it. She has touched him long enough to know she won't get hurt slamming into anything so she just goes for it ! Zipping to slap the Green X " Done! " she says brightly and looking at herself " I can't believe I did that" , She's glad it was sam mostly because she can use his confidence to keep her own lack of it up .

Cannonball has posed:\<br\>Samuel Guthrie follows along after her. HE is letting her lead this now, and studying a bit on how she is using his powers, and does make a mental note about talking to her later on how to use them.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Well, it seems she managed to reorient herself around and reach the green 'X' before the timer ran out..There is a loud ringing of a bell and the landscape shifts again. They are in a dank dark mazelike cavern with a low rooftop. It will be harder to fly around or at least to control her flight in here, but then that's the point, isn't it?\<br\>\<br\>The cavern is really quite beautiful with glittering crystal stalgmatites and stalagmites on the roof and surrounding ground. But they look sharp and dangerous, best be careful!\<br\>\<br\>"Welcome to level 2." Jean announces, "Somewhere in this mazelike cavern you will find another Green X but it wont be as easy this time. Good luck!"

Copycat has posed:\<br\>She frowns but having pulled sam's thougths and knowledge she does like him.. She pushes her arms forward and laucnhes herself forward without care if she hits things because she can smash through it like a cannon ball.. But she is looking around trying to see any clues that could help her as she blasts forward top speed

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Jean Grey beckons for Sam to leave, curious to see how well copycat performs on her own..How long do her copied powers last anyway? Well, she's about to find out! She smiles as she watches CC's excellent mastery of Cannonball's powers, but how long will that invulnerability last? Only as long as she can stay aflight.\<br\>\<br\>Jean presses another button and chunks of stalagnite and stalagnatite shoot down or up from the ground. But that's not all. Even as the tunnel widens in the distance, the only path up ahead suddenly caves in with chunks of rock, burying it completely. The wall is pretty thick and not easy to just blast through.\<br\>\<br\>Can she stop in time, and can she blast a hole through a weaker part of the wall?

Copycat has posed:\<br\>Copycat does something new or kinda new, something sam can do but maybe don't She actually accelerates going full speed before yanking herself up and down doing a tight loop given the Space and trying to dodge those spikes but the purpose is simply to build up momentum and speed and use that to channel into a blast that she launches forward while pouring on the speed to slam into that wall homing to punch through it.. She isn't aware that sam left or she'd panic a little more.

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>The avalanche continues to rain down around Copycat, the increasing thickness slowing down her speed as she tries to soldier through the rain and avalanche. "That's a risky gamble, are you sure you want to take it?" Jean's voice booms over the loudspeaker.\<br\>\<br\>But she has made her choice, and there's probably no going back now. The going is much slower now, the wall not getting any thinner as chunks of heavy rock continue to rain down all around her, along with clouds of dust making it hard to see where exactly she is flying.\<br\>\<br\>But is that a faint green light in the distance ahead?

Copycat has posed:\<br\>Copycat Grits her teeth she wants to quit she knows she can't make it that this is too much for her.. she should stop.. but she also has sam's mindset his never give in never give up So she switches she uses that mind set instead of her own.. she's panicking So her powers kick in and suddenly she pours on the power launching forward while gritting her teeth!

Phoenix has posed:\<br\>Copycat's flight may prove erratic and jumpy by now as the avalanche continues all around her. She's running out of ammunition but she manages to hang on, the glowing green X glowing brighter by the moment. It's almost within reach although now, even larger walls of rock shoot out from the ground like deadly teeth. With the avalanche and dust and dirt, visibility is near to none, but that light is still there, just up ahead..Somewhere..
