Light the Candle

Synopsis:	First successes in magic training are observed!

Ivory has posed:
Training in the arcane Arts was hard, and success on their own? Not much yet for Ivory. After all, unlike others that got access to their magic in a trained fashion in the teens, Ivory was like... something in the order of a decade older than the typical wizard or witch. But... there were tiny successes. Making a piece of paper rustle after minutes. Yet today's training task was not that. It was the very classical one: Light a candle, without a lighter, match and only your mind and spells...

"Ok Sabrina, I try again, ok? But this isn't like... putting on socks or a cat tail. It's not... second nature to me like that." Ivory laments as they close the eyes, trying to visualize the candle in their head...

Sabrina Spellman has posed:
Sabrina Spellman Smiles " I know you can do this.. look remember the other stuff, the feeling the mana and all that. How you figured out how to feel the magic that you use when you change.. first, start with that.. feel that power.. Then try feeling outwards.. feel past that till you can feel the candle.. " She says, giving you slow step by step instructions

Ivory has posed:
Sighing a moment, the blue eyes of Ivory open as the instructions are retold, then they inhale again, closing the eyes and trying again. Forming a new landscape around them in front of their inner eye. Themselves, no distinguishing marks for either gender, just a feline, unconnected smile on the face with closed eyes. The surface they sat on. Somewhere in front... a cylinder. Roughly a finger wide, smelling of wax. The Candle. In the center of the top surface the wick. What was it again... right, the wick, soaked in frozen wax. It needed to melt there... Ever so carefully they tried to tap their own reservoir of power to siphon just a little to the candle. Not too much, or the wick would blow up and snuff itself. Not too little or the melting wax wouldn't catch fire and the wick would snuff itself. A delicate balancing...

Sabrina Spellman has posed:
Sabrina Spellman smiles " now think of something warm.. heat depending on the person some use hate or things that make them uncomfortable.. some use warm like hugs and kisses.. or that first blush when you had a crush " she says softly " That feels that sensation is real magic of heat.. it's how you pull it up and use it burn the candle.. you can use pure power but it's not as easy as using heat "

Ivory has posed:
The wick was about to shimmer wetly, when Sabrina spoke up, the little spot quickly growing and then turning into a short gleam that almost instantly burned out the wick in a puff. Too much. With a groan Ivory opened the eyes, eying the candle. "Oh come on, I was soo close..." they remark, reaching for a lighter to get back some wick by melting the wax of the candle down a little. "I thought I had it but then... concentration derailed. One more try, ok?"

Sabrina Spellman Nods her head " You got this.. it's okay to fail just learn from what you did wrong.. First take a moment think what you did wrong then adjust that's how you'll get it right " She's a good teacher she's not even aware but she is trying her best to give you what you need so you can light the candle " Pick a way you think you can make it happen "

Ivory has posed:
Ivory nods slowly, blowing out the prepared candle again and letting it cool a little before they close the eyes again. "Just... let me try..." They inhaled, exhaled and tried once more. The white. Themselves. The candle. The wick. Their own reservoir. And... careful. Trying to not let Sabrina disturb them this time, their thoughts were focussed on the wick, the wax, trying only to feed just enough to melt the wax, just enough to nourish the flame to be... just get it liquid and then... a tiny bit more... careful, careful....

Sabrina Spellman has posed:
Sabrina Spellman Claps " You did it you did it! " She beams clapping " Open your eye's look look it's lit " she says brightly with a big smile as she moves around the candle " Look at you pretty thing " She says brightly

Ivory has posed:
Trying to disconnect from the flame just emerging was not that hard, but still a somewhat risky moment. Ivory did manage that part though without snuffing the candle again. As the eyes open, Ivory exhales carefully. "I... I guess..." they mutter, reaching out to test if that was real fire, then sighing relieved as they feel the heat. "I guess that counts as a first success?"

Ivory blinks as Sabrina does... *something* to the candle. "I... I guess... Well, whatever you did, I think I noticed it. I mean..." They sigh. "Something did change."
