Sweet Tea and Misery

Location:	Backyard - Xavier's School
Synopsis:	Rogue confides in Sam about some recent issues. Sam returns the favor. Then it begins to rain.

Rogue has posed:
It's a gloomy day as dark clouds likely pregnant with rain hover over the mansion, threatening to let loose any moment. Seems that keeps most everyone inside, but Rogue has a different plan. She's lounging in a lawn chair, glass of tea on the ground next to her and a book in hand that she's reading like she's not got a care in the world. Course she could have done a hundred and one other things with her mind in the state that it's end but landed on staying close to the mansion and reading in a potential storm.

Maybe she'll ask the actual Storm to change the weather soon.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie has been out checking on a few things to make sure that if there is a storm coming in, the patio furniture and such have been put away. With a school of young people things can be left out and about often. So finishing up Sam is walking up towards where Rogue is.

Rogue has posed:
It's not a mutant power, but Rogue has a sort of sixth sense when people are coming close to her. Perhaps it's mostly from when she couldn't really control her powers. She never let anyone get too close. So she sits up and glances, smiling when she sees Sam. "Heya Sam. How goes it?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Doing ok, how you doing?" He asks her, and continues walking over and says "Want me to move an umbrella over for you, so if it starts to rain your good?"

Rogue has posed:
"I've had better days..." Rogue admits and then raises a brow when he offers to move an umbrella. "Oh.. I didn't even realize it got cloudy. Sure...could use an umbrella."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie listens and will move the umbrella but not opening it yet. He gets it set up and looks over to her. "Whats up? You need an ear?" He offers her. He will pull a chair over to sit on it, so they are on the same level.

Rogue has posed:
"Just got a lot on my mind, Sam. There's some things coming together, and Logan ain't too happy about it - for a few reasons. And I tried to reason with'im last night but...at the same time I see the points from both ends of the candle." Rogue explains. "I guess I'm also worried about the day it may come down to us chosin'...and I said I was gonna side with him but...I fear he may be in over his head this time. Lookin at things with a bias opinion."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie 's brow raises a bit and says "Ok, Ah think Ah may have missed something, what we choosing about?" He will ask her. He cocks his head a bit to the side curious what he might have missed.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue sighs. "Apparently Psylocke's got it on her mind to put together X-Force again. Somethin' about seein' a vision of how the world might end or whatever. Thinks she can stop it. But she got some help from someone that Logan don't trust worth a grain of sugar. Then she asked him to be part of it. Apparently the whole ordeal pissed him off enough he came home last night meaner'n a cat in a room full of empty food bowls."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hmmms and nods a bit to this and says "Well there are quite a few folks Logan does not care for. So she just asking this person or Logan and this person both to be on the team?"

Rogue has posed:
"Well the person ain't really on the team as much as they just apparently offered to front the tech for it. But then she asked Logan to be on the team, yeah. But since she's gettin' help from the other guy, Logan wasn't havin' it. He don't trust the man one bit, even af'er trying to give him the benefit of the doubt." Rogue laughs a little then. "And here I am feelin' like I'm stuck in the damn middle of a square affair..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to her, and knowing some stuff he has heard and says "Sinister?" In question if thats the one she is speaking of.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue looks up and over to Sam and then taps her nose. "Yeah, actually..." She says to him and then shakes her head some. "How'd you figure?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Well, ah have seen you two together, and as Ah said, while Ah aint sure Ah trust him, and giving the benefit of the doubt cause you seem to. " He rubs a hand through his hair, and says "But yea, Ah can see Logan having a bit more issue, he aint never going to trust someone who can be describes even remotely as a mad scientist, no offence."

Rogue has posed:
"No I get it. And truthfully, some other things have come to light that...I dunno... don't really make Sinister sit well with me. At the same time, he DOES have pull when people need it. He's not all bad...when he chooses not to be. But even Logan tried to find some way to give him an olive branch and that went sour fast. The man's decided to not trust Sinister at all...but what about the people who join the X-Force. Our mutant brothers and sisters... Logan asked me how I'd feel about it...and while I told him they're adults to make their own decision... what if I'm wrong... what if we -should- step in..."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Well, Ah will say Ah trust Betsy, but him ehhh. As for all Adults, how many of the folks here started when they were not adults." He admits.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue blinks, then shrugs. "Prolly most of us if I had to take a guess. Even the professor started all this when he was youngish, right?" She sighs then. "You got a point tho...I dunno Betsy very well myself...I just don't want to keep seeing Logan upset."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit to this and says "Well, maybe talk to Betsy or have Logan talk to her, see if they can get things figured out. " He hmmms a bit and says "May I ask you something sorta personal?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue raises a brow as she glances back over to Sam for a moment. She takes his other words to heart with a nod and then says, "Sure. Ask away.."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Have you ever been concerned that Sinister is wanting to be around you for your genetics? Ah am not saying your making bad decisions or nothing, just wandering how much thought ya put into it."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue thinks about it for a moment and then nods her head. "Yeah. Which is why we always met in public places and I always had an out." She offers this and then shrugs. "But I haven't met him privately about anything for a long while. Those days are over...I owe it to myself, and to the X-Men, the students here - to not mingle with those who may just one day take advantage of the trust they were given."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks to her, and says "Hey Ah am all for giving folks a chance, just have to be cautious at times. On paper even Ah was on the wrong side of things in the begining." He offers her a smile, and says "And here revently, Ah been told Ah am part of a group where Selene, and Apocalypse are sorta my family. So some folks maybe questioning me soon.

Rogue has posed:
"Ain't a one of us not got blood on our hands, or done somethin' shady in our pasts. The thing is, we came together, here, to make right of it. Others didn't. They chose their path. Sometimes those paths cross." Rogue shrugs. "If they need someone to vouch for yer good side, you have them come talk to me."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Ah will remember that, just seems a bit weird, it is the whole being killed and then coming back. Met a lady called me something called an External. Seems a lot like a mutant Highlander.

Rogue has posed:
"But in that sense there can only be one, and ain't you got like brothers and shit?" Rogue asks with a bit of a smirk. "Who really knows these days. Seems like everyone likes to toss around big words and make a lotta noise for shit that don't mean much in the end.."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and shrugs a bit and says "Brothers and sisters, and quite few of them, but hoping to not find out of they can come back alive. Ah know Jay can technically but his is more like Logan's regeneration, where me, Ah was dead, then back alive fully healed."

Rogue has posed:
"Gotcha..." Rogue says this much and then shakes her head some. "Sounds like an interesting story... and maybe there's some truth to it. But if you start gettin' in over your head, you give us a call yeah?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods "Will do as long as you promise you feel your over your head, or even need someone to talk to you remember we are here too."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue smiles and nods, closing up her book right as rain begins to fall from the skies. "I will. It's been a hard lesson to learn, but I've learned it." The rain is cold and she hunches a bit. "I should get inside...need any help while I'm out here?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie shakes his head, and says "Na, Ah'm good just a few more spots, Ah need to make sure are battened down, and Ah think Ah can get there pretty quick." He says as his feet start to glow and he lifts off the ground hovering for a second. Yup, Sam has much better control than he used to.
