Another Weekend and another day at the Shelter.
Date of Scene:	15 October 2023
Location:	New Hope Shelter, East Harlem
Synopsis:	Lucius and Nick caught up as Nick donated to the Shelter Once again. Perhaps in the Future a Halloween Ball is in the future.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
The place is configured in a very non-holiday fashion, a family room of sorts with large screen TV is where Lucius is currently relaxing in a chair, he's wearing a blindfold over his eyes. About eight fairly loud members of the Shelter are watching football.

The kitchen is pretty quiet, while the family dorms have sounds of children playing perhaps an X-Box or some other game system.
    The 'specialized' classrooms seem to have some folks as well within... as windows occassionally rattle or flare as if perhaps some of the 'gifted' folks are having a competition or training class.

As the holiday has not quite hit for the shelter, the non-holiday fashion could be forgiven. But with Thanksgiving coming around the corner, it stands to reason some food donations are as well.

And this is how Nick finds himself back at the shelter. Leaving a traveling companion back at the truck, Nick makes his way over to the equivalent of a front desk. Rather than bum rush the place with supplies, the musician does make an effort to give a bit of a heads up to the pending donations.

Nick's not dressed for recognition at the moment. Be it from the chilly weather outside or other reasons, he's wearing a coat that conceals much of his form and a ballcap that covers what parts of the hair the coat didn't take care of.

Hearing the sounds of children playing, Nick gives a small smile to the sounds of happiness.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus hmms a bit as he gets up and still wearing the blindfold he wanders to the 'front desk', which is basically folding table with a few chairs at that usually does indeed have a 'Donation Here' sign along with a few other piles of papers to make the shelter folks official residence, He approaches the table, removing the blindfold eventually, "Ahh, long time no see.. Thank you for the donations."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Hearing the greeting, Nick turns his head. Upon seeing Lucius blindfolded, a brow raises for a moment. "Lucius?" Nick starts, tone betraying a bit of curiousity to what he's seeing. There's a pause as he considers the greeting and starts chuckling. "Well it'll be a bit longer if you continue wearing that blindfold while I'm here. But it is good to see you." He responds. He pauses for a moment before glancing to the door. "Uh. We have about a truckload of food outside...If we can borrow a dolly we should be able to get it in with about three trips."

Nick glances over to the general area of the mess hall, not really seeing anything with the partitions in place.

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus nods, as he stashes the blindfold, "We have a few of those. Let's go." He quickly seems to volunteer himself as he heads towards the kitchen and food storage, "So, I have a someone called 'Kit' whose thinking of doing something special coming up for the Shelter. I'm glad that those with means are interested in helping their fellow man, even if they may have abilities which make them seem different." He moves the partitioning curtain with a little effort, the heavy fireproof curtain moves and he searches for a dolly.

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
With the quest for a dolly started, Nick follows after the shelter's owner. "Thank you." He responds. As they pass through the mess hall area to get to the kitchen area, a glance is given to the wall that had been blown in last Thanksgiving. A wall indeed is back in place. Which, makes sense considering the shelter is very much still in use.

The mention of the name causes for Nick to look back over to Lucius. "Kit?" He repeats. There's a pause for a moment before he continues. "...Hyena like maybe?" He wonders aloud as he glances to the revealed area of the food storage. "...Did they ever find out what went wrong with the fridge last season?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus inhales a bit, "I had it fixed, there was some thoughts..." as he finds a cart and wheels it towards the back, "I think people deserve second chances..I'll consider it a mistake. Luckily, everything can be repaired, if it was lives lost, that would be another thing entirely." he wheels it out back and begins to load the cart, if he's able to that is, "Don't be a stranger, it's not your fault. Thank you for showing up in a pinch."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods, lifting up a hand to accept the cart. But seeing Lucius roll the cart himself to the loading area, Nick follows instead. "We were lucky that it was just the wall." He responds, mentioning to other aspect of the situation.

As Lucius controls the cart, Nick moves to help with loading up the cart

A hand lingers on one box as Lucius lets him off the hook for his part in the problem. "...thanks."

He moves over to grab a box that he can very well carry when the loaded up Dolly is taken inside. He glances to the side in thought. "...Well...It just so happens I might be free this Thanksgiving."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Nice, I'm trying to consider if we should do something 'special' over the typical turkey and foot ball, but people are generally steady habits for their holidays.. Any ideas your self?" as he loads the cart."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Well, considering the amount of effort needed to prepare and cook turkey, that is a special food. So I wouldn't downgrade the value of it." Nick comments, "I can understand the desire to have a set menu for one day of the year to have common staples. Sometimes certain dishes can help trigger fond memories. And when someone's life has become unstable in some form, they might cling to the things they can control."

Nick pauses. Head tilting up in thought. "Although, most of the fond memories are less about the turkey and more about the sides. Maybe see if any of the residents have any family recipes that they are really missing and add that to the list?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Excellent idea." He goes distant a moment, "I imagine they all have something to contribute to that list.. I'd love to prepare something that does give someone a feeling of home." As he continues to load the cart and then they are off to wheel it inside and unload said cart, "I'm also thinking of having a halloween dress up ball, one day where noone can tell who is what and who to 'fear'" he even makes the quotes with his fingers."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Box in arms, Nick follows along inside. making his way over to the boxes are being set down. He's aware the sorting will be done later so there's not much in terms of unloading. His box is soon set down and he helps with the cart.

Nick gives a nod, "The dress up ball sounds interesting. Do you mean it for the residents or to be a bit of a fundraising event as well?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Yeah, it may more of a fundraiser.. it sounds more like something that could raise the amounted needed for the various foods for Thanksgiving and then later gifts for christmas time."

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick nods, helping to finish off the current cart load. "The theme sounds like it could be a draw." He straightens up, taking a step in the direction of the loading area before pausing to look to Lucius, "Are you thinking off site or on site?"

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "I'm open... I know that folks like to go somewhere else more then to a Shelter in East Harlem." he finishes unloading whatever else from the vehicle that Nick has brought. "Thank you again for the donation, lots of hungry folks always looking for a little normalcy.""

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
"Alright. Well, let me know when a date and place is locked in for that one." Grabbing the last box so the second cart load is enough to finish off moving in the donations, the musician shifts the weight in his arms. He gives a soft smile, "...I can understand the desire for it. You don't really begin to appreciate it until things change on you."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "Story of Human nature, you don't know what you have until it's gone." he nods, he looks back to the football as the men cheer on their teams, "I guess I'll go back and see what the ruckus is about, you up for some wings and nachos? If they have anything left that is.""

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
Nick's smile strengthens to the invite. "A tempting offer, but I should probably head back and get the truck returned. But- next time I come by I'll allow for more time. It's good seeing you Lucius. I'm sorry for the drama that spilled over last Thanksgiving. The matter involving me should have been resolved."

Zeitgeist (Julius) has posed:
Lucius Primus says, "I'll make sure I'm around, last time I was finding some investment overseas, kinda last minute, this time I don't see it this time.""

Phantasm (Drago) has posed:
I can understand that." Nick replies as they put the last of the donations inside. "I just finished some stuff overseas a few days ago. Sometimes you can't help but to travel somewhere."

Off to the distance, there's a honk of a horn.

"Speaking of having to travel. That is my ride. Talk with you later!"

With that, the musician scoots off.
