Coffee and convo

Location:	Angelica Jones' Apartment, Morrisania
Synopsis:	Firestar and Nadia had a cofee and cookies, conversing about things.

Firestar has posed:
Angelica dropped a line to Nadia to come by sometime if she wants. Address and such things are provided. She has a pot of coffee on and a few baked goodies as well.

She has on the protective suit she wears under a pair of tattered jeans and a light weight t-shirt. Right now, she is picking up the apartment a little and just figuring out what today is going to bring.

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
One of many perks/responsibilities of being in charge at GIRL is checking in with the members. And when someone reaches out Nadia does everything she can to find time for a visit.

So as is the custom when visiting a friends house she's brought drinks and snacks of her own. Not that you'd know it from looking at her. Dressed in her GIRL bomber jacket, jeans, and a t-shirt (she grew up in Siberia the cold in New York is nothing to her!) she's gone for a smart casual look. Rather than anything too fancy or formal.

Pym particles allowing her to keep an entire samovar of good tea in her pocket along with some cookies from a Russian bakery.

When she arrives there's a rapid knock knock knock on the door. Not because she's impatient. Simply because the petite scientist does everything at a breakneck pace.

Firestar has posed:
A smirk and Angelica walks to the door and opens it. She winks and motions her inside,"Hey come in." she tells the other woman and closes the door behind her.

She motions around the room and tells her,"Make yourself at home."

Angelica isn't bothered too much by the general cold, but for decidedly different reasons. She walks to the kitchen area and asks,"How do you take your coffee?"

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
Nadia practically skips through the door when it opens. "Heya Angelica! How're things with you?" she wonders. "I brought you some treats as a thank you for inviting me over."

As it by magic (or more logically thanks to Pym particles) a sealed plastic container filled with traditional Russian cookies appears. And a full sized samovar. A sort of teapot intended to make large amounts of hot drinks by keeping water at the optimal temperature for tea making. She's also obtained a heat proof glove from somewhere to handle the teapot. Suggesting it's full of hot water already. "I got you a samovar, on the assumption you don't already have one, they're so handy if you drink a lot of tea or coffee. Waaaaaay more efficient than boiling a kettle."

She gives the question of how she likes her coffee a moments thought. Setting the gifts down someplace they won't be in the way. Then adding a box of tea to accompany the samovar. "Strong," she decides. "Like reeaaaaaaaally strong. No milk or sugar. Just plain ole black coffee." Back at GIRL she drinks espresso by the pint. Thankfully her enhanced metabolic rate means she doesn't quite phase through solid matter. But it's probably a close thing.

Firestar has posed:
A look of surprise and amusement when the things start to appear from nowhere. She smirks a little and asks,"Would you like me to make you some tea dear? I could do that too. Try it out and see what you have brought."

She does pour a cup of black coffee and admits,"It might not be quite so strong as you like, but I could make some tea too."

Nadia moves and talks so quick it takes Angelica a moment to catch up,"Thank you for the treats and for coming by. It gives us a chance to just visit a little and see what's going on in general."

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"These are gifts for you to do whatever you like with," Nadia says with a grin. "If you want tea feel free to have some. I'm good with coffee though so you don't have to make anything extra on my behalf!"

She accepts the drink and takes a sip that's bordering on a gulp. "Any coffee is good coffee."

"There's not a /bunch/ happening right now. Harper, another member of GIRL, was talking about a movie night in my necklace lab. So if you have any movies you think we should all see feel free to email me the list." She blinks a few times. "Did I ever show you my personal lab?" A beats pause. "I don't think I did.. Well, it's pretty hard to show you without a very high power microscope." The former spy looks around the room as if triple checking it's just GIRLs in here. "My necklace has a super secret lab inside. So small it's hard to spot even for Kryptonians."

Firestar has posed:
She nods and pours a coffee for herself. She drinks is straight as well and motions Nadia to follow her to the couch,"Thank you again for the gifts." she replies and goes to sit down.

She listens to the mention of movie night and a necklace lab. Her right eyebrow raises just a little in mention of a necklace lab. She shakes her head and admits,"I have not seen it no. I am not really up to date of movies of late so I would be good with about anything that doesn't look like it belongs in a class room."

She studies the necklace again and shakes her head,"If the Kryptonians can't see it, that's impressive." she admits,"I have always wondered what in the world the shirking does to your body on a physics level."

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"It's not about new movies," Nadia clarifies. "It's about classic or just /good/ films. Or things so bad they're funny. I didn't grow up with access to movies at all. So I just don't get any of the references people make that're movie related." She did grow up in a Siberian bunker after all.

"Nothing wrong with class rooms! GIRL is full of them." Well sort of. The labs can be used for teaching as well as research. "Super Girl could see it but only when she was up close and looking really carefully. I could probably make it impossible to spot if I wanted. But going any smaller... It's bad for my research. Throws off all my experiments."

She joins Angelica on the couch, then tilts her head to one side.

"Lots of things really. But it depends on how something shrinks. When I shrink things it's by shunting mass and energy between dimensions. When I shrink myself I'm compressing the same matter by removing the spaces between the matter. Making me tougher and more durable."

Firestar has posed:
"Ahh, in that case you need to watch The Princess Bride." she replies to the classic movie comment,"Star Wars of course if you like sci fi."

She chuckles softly and admits,"oh just getting back in the swing of college and my brain is getting a little over loaded. I am testing out of a few classes so that will settle soon, but for now..."

She takes a drink of her coffee and considers,"The prospect of what you do is intriguing. Everything growing and shrinking...I just try to figure out how it doesn't hurt your body. Do you heal fast? I know only too much about a power that can harm yourself."

Wasp (Pym) has posed:
"I have no idea what I like," Nadia points out. "I really haven't watched much, if any, films since I got free."

She takes a sip of her coffee, then pulls her phone out and makes a note. "The Princess Bride huh. I'll add it to the list."

She motions for Angelica to have some of the cookies she brought. They are after all best when fresh.

"I'm sure you'll do fine with college. It's only very easy stuff anyway. Hardly a concern for a GIRL member! But feel free to use our library or computer systems for any experiments you need to run or to check out any books."

The former spy giggles. "I can always give you a tour of my necklace lab sometime. You can experience the shrinking process for yourself. It doesn't really hurt and once you get used to the disorientation of size changing.. Well it's pretty cool seeing atoms for the first time." A beats pause. "I know we'll finish up our drinks and then I'll give you a very quick tour of the lab."
