What happened last night
Date of Scene: 21 January 2024
Location: Harry Dresden's Office, Kingston Falls
Synopsis: Sometimes it's better to not talk so much. Harry and Willow have a little tension in the morning.
Cast of Characters: Harry Dresden, Willow Rosenberg

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry stirs early as usual. Once in a while he gets to sleep in, but not often. He does have to let Mouse out and such things. So he leaves her sleeping for a moment, kissing her head gently and then moves to go to the front door.

Not that he noticed, but Mister is sitting on the couch and he is watching the sleep witch intently. Nobody knows of anything magical about the big house cat, but still he watches her sleep. Not exactly wary, but still watching.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
The witch, Willow, is fast asleep.

She'd gotten to Harry house feeling mighty good - both in spirits, and more than a little bit high. Not that she had any symptoms of drugs. And frankly, if Willow had a full alcoholic drink, she was tipsy to say the least.

No. This was different. Subtle.

But what?

Rolling over to Harry's side of the bed, she stretches out, and remains asleep.
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry and Mouse are gone for a few minutes and Willow has the apartment to herself. Well, except for Bob and one big cat that drops to the floor and pads to the bed. He jumps up onto Harry's side table and continues to look at Willow. It has been said, by Constantine, that cats are half in and half out of Hell anyway. Maybe he sees the result of her interactions with Dracula and especially Rack.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Whether she was woken up by something the cat did, or whether she naturally came to it, Willow stretches again, and with a flutter of her eyelashes, opens them, and blinks at the cat.

"Oh?"

You could have believed that Willow was waiting for an answer.

"Don't look at me that way. I'm not hurting anyone. Just am tired of people like Thomas patting me on the back." Figuratively. "I'm old enough. And I bet Harry had a good night last night."

Hrmph!
Harry Dresden has posed:
It's truly annoying how a cat can look all accusatory and unimpressed all at once. He licks his mouth and drops back to the floor to pad off somewhere else in the apartment.

A few minutes later Harry and Mouse return and head down the hall to go back to the apartment area. Mouse looks at her too, but not suspicious or anything, just looking for scritches and lovings. Harry starts the perkalator to make them some coffee and he glances to see if she is awake,"Hey. Did we wake you?"
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow makes a face at the cat. "If I had a familiar, it wouldn't be a cat." Which may have been true. Or not. But at that moment? She meant it.

By the time Harry comes in, she was sitting up, with the blankets all around her, smiling.

"I thought I heard a noise. Turns out it was the cat. I couldn't go back to sleep." She pats the blankets for Mouse. "All how are you today? Did Harry take you around the block, hrm?"
Harry Dresden has posed:
If he cares, Mister doesn't indicate it. He is gone to the world. More important things, like food.

Mouse leans on Willow and makes happy noises before bounding onto the bed with her. The heavy monster leans and loves all the attention that follows.

Harry looks at the duo and shakes his head,"He likes you better." he muses and pours two cups of coffee, fixing both to their typcal likings.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"Cause I'm cute." Willow says it as though it was true.

(She was.)

"Besides, he thinks he gets away with more than me. I bet you don't invite him onto the bed." Willow giggles, then thanks him for the coffee. "I could get used to this. Waiting on me, hand and foot."
Harry Dresden has posed:
He snorts softly,"You're a little more than cute love." he tells her with a wink,"He's not wrong either. He gets away with more from you for sure." A laugh and he sips his coffee,"Only so long as we're just dating. Anything more and it will die off, like every marriage." he teases.
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
"What brings that up? I mean, I guess we could have the talk.. but..?"

Willow was confused. She didn't think she'd been pointing Harry that way. Heck, she wasn't even done her formal schooling! Who knows where she might go for her Doctorate. (She had only decided now.. *right now*.. that she wanted her Doctorate. Funny how those decisions crept on you, and surprised you.)

"Was there something you wanted to talk with me about?" Good grief. Is he breaking up with me, she wondered?
Harry Dresden has posed:
He blinks, a little confused. He shakes his head and leans past the dog to kiss her gently,"Willow I adore you with all my being, but I am nowhere near ready for that sort of thing." he admits.

He nudges the dog aside enough to sit on the bed,"You and I both have a lot on our plates to be thinking about that sort of thing. If something changes, we'll address it then. OK?"

He winks and adds,"I'm not saying I would rule the idea out, just saying I am not there yet and I don't think you are either. I made a bad joke that went off the rails."
Willow Rosenberg has posed:
Willow stills frowns. "You do you that you were talking in me like *I* brought it up? You do know that? I'm not that kind of girl who thinks because you smile at me, you must be in love, and hear wedding bells.. and how did we get on this topic? Seriously. *You* brought it up, quit trying to pass the buck off on me. I was happy being your lover."

Yes, Harry stuck both his feet into it. And other parts besides
Harry Dresden has posed:
Frown for a frown, he finally nods,"All right. I merely intended to say waiting on hand and foot changes and was being smart mouthed about it. I shouldn't have. It won't happen again." he tells her and takes a drink of his cofee.

"I am fully happy with the way things are as well. So forget I tried to make a joke." He gets up and walks into the living area to give her space.

Mouse, for his part, looks a little confused and licks Willow's hand.
