a simple business meeting.
Date of Scene: 29 February 2024
Location: Harry Dresden's Office, Kingston Falls
Synopsis: Remy and Dresden reach a working agreement and plan their first colabritive event.
Cast of Characters: Gambit, Harry Dresden

Gambit has posed:
The phone call had been simple and direct, an appointment for an hour of the man's time in regards to two matters, "One foh de PI, one foh de Wizard." He'd asked Harry's rates and had even managed to knock on the office door exactlly two minutes before the scheduled apointment.
Harry Dresden has posed:
The wards are lowered enough for him to enter safely and Harry opens the door. He takes a moment to study the man, the motions him inside. Once inside, Remy gets a once over from the furry tank that lives at the place. Mouse cocks his head to the side a little and chuffs once before walking around the men to lay by the door to see that they aren't distrurbed.

Harry motions the desk and walks around to take a seat,"There is coffee if you want." Old old school perkalator,"So how can I help you?"
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau gives Mouse a good solid ear ruffle and smiles the genuine smile of a dog lover getting to pay attention to a dog. "Coffee be great, Merci." He takes the "client seat," and waits for the drink before saying, "Ah don' believe in wastin' a man's time Mistah Dresden." he says blowing at the steam and taking a tenitive sip. "So Ah cut to de chase non? Ah am a professional t'ief. Retired, mostly. One of de best in de world. Problem wit' being retired from a career like dat, is yah get bored real easy. Now Ah could go break inta museums an' put Groucho Glasses on Michelangelo's David or swap a golden idol from Trinidad wit' a replica from de gift shop... but Ah'd rat'er put mah talents ta a constructive end."
Harry Dresden has posed:
Pouring a cup of coffee for the man, Harry sets it on the desk infront of him. There are some packets of sugar and creamer there if he wants. Taking a seat he considers the other man's words for a while. A slight raise of his brow and he replies,"So are you offering your services should I need to get into someplace that maybe I shouldn't or more directly couldn't?" he asks straight forward as well,"I could think of a time or two that would have been helpful, but sometimes those places are decidedly dangerous. Somehow you don't strike me as one too worried about that."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smiles wickedly amused at the other man's assessment, "Non, Ah'm not. And also if yah need somet'ing placed somewhere, removed from somewhere, or even simply verrified dat it is where you t'ink it is. Ah am a resourceful man Mr. Dresden. From everyt'ing Ah've been able ta dig up on yah, yah a good man who not too much mind bending de rules foh dat good. Can' say Ah'm a good man mahself. Got allot of red in mah ledger. Allot of Red. But I trying to make amends foh some of it.
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry considers, then stands up to walk to the ice box. He returns with two cold microbrews from across the road,"Speak nothing of the cold microbews or the owner of Mac might kill you to telling and me for doing it." Apparently Remy went from coffee to beer fairly quick.

"Harry is fine." he tells him in regards to names,"I have a little in mine as well, but I try to keep it to a minimum he admits. Red in the ledger that is." He nods and asks,"Do you have a card or a number I can reach you at without much trouble?" The phone on his desk is old...not quite crank handle old, but old.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau places his thumb under the cap of the bottle, there is a momentary bit of pink at his thumbnail, and the cap pops off like a coin flipped into the air. Remy smirks as he catches it and takes a small sip of the beer, makes an astonished face, and takes another. "Mister Dresden...Harry... If dis is a negotiating tactic ta agree ta take mah payment in beer rat'er den cash... Yah are a much bettah negotiator den Ah initially gave yah credit foh." He makes note that there is no way the man's phone has caller ID and plucks a pen from the desk, writing his number on the back of one of Harry's own business cards. Yah call dat number. I won' answer but yah will get a call back wit'in five minutes." He says simply.
Harry Dresden has posed:
A smirk and Harry takes a drink as well. He nods and admits,"This is one of the better leverage options." He takes the card and puts it in the middle drawer of the desk. He pauses, makes a note under the name and number, and then puts it away.

"All right then. You needed the private investigator. You needed the wizard. One down, what can the wizard do for you?" he asks curiously." Suddenly, a huge cat moves into the room and makes his way past them both, clearly disdain for the dog. Mister hops up on one of the file cabinets to watch.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau even worse now smells like two different dogs, likely making the cat even less interested in him. Remy nods a bit, taking another sip of his beer and saying "Have yah evah 'eard of a Law firm called Wolfram an' 'Art? Dey pretty big players, an' apparently dey got de kinda backers wit' 'orns and pitchforks."
Harry Dresden has posed:
There is a nod and he replies,"I haven't heard a lot, but some yes. The sources in question were reliable enough and they did indicate there was a demon behind it, or rather several demons. Are you wanting someone to tell you more about them or are you looking for something specific?"
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau takes a deep exhale. "Miles Conrad. Yah'll 'ave never 'eard of 'im. But in de 1940's 'e lied about 'is age and went ta war ta fight de Nazis. He survived, an' used 'is GI bill ta buy a small twon 'ouse in Brooklyn. Dat townhouse was worth eight million dollahs today. And some online scammer manage ta steal 'is identity an' take out four morgages agienst de man's 'ome. He now living at a VA shelter. A man who once fought beside Captain America an' mah own fat'er... all because he open de wrong e-mail." Remy takes a long pull off his beer to steady himself. "Mah pappa ask me ta look inta it, but every avenue is blocked at Wolfram an' 'Art. Dare are ovah T'ree 'undred t'ousand buildings in dat city, including Avenger's tower, de Baxter buiding, and dat wierd one wit' a castle on de roof. An' yah gimmie a week I can get inta any one of dem... But not Wolfram an' 'Art.
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry listens to his description of things and frowns more and more as the story unfolds. His brow furrows a little and he nods,"Sounds like them. I take it the one who did the stealing is part of them or is protected by the viper lawyers?"

He takes a drink and considers the question at hand,"I might know a way to get in. It would mostly likely be alarmed though, once we stepped through it. It might not. They have some mystical heavy hitters in there, but the path through the ways is the path through the ways. Passing through the Never Never would get us there. If I could go in for you and look around I might be able to find a blind spot, but ever walking through the door would cause chaos." He frowns and smirks a little. A plan is happening in those eyes.
Gambit has posed:
Remy nods slowly, "Anyt'ing dat proves de man fraudulantly took posession of 'is identity.. anyt'ing at all and it a step in de right direction. If yah c'n get me in dare, Ah c'n take care of an' mundane form of security. If it devolve inta a fight, Ah got more den mah fair share of skills dare too."
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry is quiet for a moment and then he says,"Anything high tech will smoke, just if I get close. I can deliberately set things off too." he explains,"If I walk in and things start blowing up, that will take attention off the security long enough for my apprentice or my girlfriend to pass you through the NeverNever somewhere in the buidling. It isn't fool proof, but it would get you inside and they would not be sure why things are going crazy at least at first."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods slightly and brings out a folder from inside his trench coat. "Dis is mont's of observations. Literal mont's. Some of it not make sense. Some of it directly couterdict ot'er parts. But it what Ah c'n offer in way of intellegence."
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry take the file and lays it on the desk. He thumbs through a few pages and he nods,"All right. Give me a little time. I know we don't have a lot, but I need to get Willow or Sabrina to take you through the ways of the Never Never. I need to make sure one of them is willing, but given the cause they might both go in with you. I don't know Raven well, but I will see if she might be interested in helping sow a little chaos to cover your entry."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods and stands up. "Ah look forward ta yah phone call den 'Arry." He says polishing off his beer and stares at the bottle. "Yah gonna 'ave ta get me in connection wit' yah supplier on dat." He says amused, three pointing the bottle in the waste basket next to the door before offering his hand to the other man.
Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry stands up and takes the offered hand, shaking. He walks the other man to the door, muttering a soft phrase. Remy sees the shimmer of the wards lowering to let him out.

He points across the street to Mac's and tells him,"Best microbrew in the city. He serves it warm there, but you can take it home and cool it. Just don't tell him. He makes a steak sandwich that is only slightly better than the brews and just not quite as good as other, more baser activities."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods his appreciation, though he eyes the wards lowering with an expression that Dresden likely recognizes as that of a man who has accepted on a fundimental level that magic is real... but still is trying to make it science somehow. Still he gives Mouse another ear tussel and heads out the door.
