Date of Scene: 08 April 2024

Synopsis: Remy and Rogue play catch up and play catch with the pooch.
Cast of Characters: Gambit, Rogue

Gambit has posed:
For the last few weeks it's seemed as though Winter and Spring have been fighting for custody over the planet. Today though it seems Spring is in control, so Remy is in the yard near the lake. A Well chewed on tennis ball in hand as a very excited jack bounces, his one eye locked on it. "Yah ready boy? the Cajun asks as the dogs too long tail wags so hard that it threatens to unbalance him. Then Remy throws the ball towards the mansion. The projectile screaming and pink sparks trailing it as the dog launches into motion like a rocket after it.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue is finishing one of her rounds of checking out the parameter of the mansion and a bit beyond, just to make sure things are staying safe. As she comes in for a landing, she spies Jack the one-eyed wonder chasing after a pink sparking ball, her gaze going to the one who tossed it. "You best not be throwin' those all charged up, threatenin' to blow up half the mansion, Swamp Rat." She teases as she shifts her flight pattern to head towards Gambit, landing just beside him. "How ya been, stranger?"
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau chuckles slightly, "Nah just enough charge ta give it some extra distance. Ah swear dat dog a mutant wit' de amount of energy he got stored up." Indeed despite Remy sending the ball the length of two football fields, Jack already has the ball in his mouth and is triumphantly prancing back in the pair's direction. "How 'bout yahself, what been keepin' yah bust chere?" He asks curiously.
Rogue has posed:
"Oh just the usual end of the world scares. Charles made an appearance for a bit and then took off again without warning. Been tryin' to keep Logan sane while we wait for Scott and Jean to come off whatever sebatical they've been on." Rogue says this and then shrugs, watching as Jack does indeed begin to return with that ball in mouth. "Otherwise just...livin' the dream... as one does." A little chuckle comes from her then before she gives a stretch and a few bones pop back into place. "What about you, Remy?" Not actually using one of her 'special' names for him this once.
Gambit has posed:
the dog seeing one of his favorite peoples for the first time changes course and drops the ball at Rogue's feet this time, crouching and waiting for her to throw the slobber covered ball for him as well. Remy shrugs a little bit, "Not'ing printable. Took on a side hustle of sorts working wit' a Private Investigator. Dats been a lil bit of fun. Ot'er den dat it's mostly been me an' Jack." he says with mild amusement. "Talked ta mah Pappa over Easter. Jus' a 'Ello Goodbye t'ing." His tone slightly meloncholy as it always is when he speaks of New Orleans.
Rogue has posed:
"Side hustles can be nice..." Rogue says, just as she spots Jack dropping the ball at her feet. She smiles, doesn't even mind the slobber as she picks it up and looks the ball over before using a bit of her super strength to launch the ball towards the mansion once more. As Remy mentions New Orleans, she smiles and reaches a hand over to rub his upper back a moment. "Sure that wasn't the easiest thing to do...but at least you did it." Offering this much before her hand falls back to her side and she goes through the motions to light up a cigarette, offering the pack to him in case he wants one.
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau takes the ciggerette, touching the end with his fingertip to ignight it and offering to do the same with her's. "When yah pick up smokin' again chere? Aftah all de crap yah used to give me abou' kissin' a man wit' smoke breat'? He asks amused as he watches the dog belt after the ball yet again, with every bit as much enthusiasm as he had the first thirty times.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue chuckles. "Don't think I ever really quit the habit. Just found places to hide myself better and indulge. Besides, Logan smokes cigars... so cigarette breath ain't any worse than that..." Watching Jack run off, and she'll let Remy ignite her cigarette with his touch. "Besides...been a rough...well year I suppose...a lot of ups and downs. Heartbreaks and celebrations. Smokin' just helps calm the nerves."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods and shrugs slightly, "Fair 'nough." he says with a sigh, blowing smoke out through his nostrols. He chuckles, "Ah started cause it was an appitie suppressent. sometimes yah c'n be on a job foh hours, nevah knowing when yah next meal is comin'. He laughs a bit to himself, "Personally bout ta give up on datin' mahself. De bes' relationship wit' a woman Ah currently 'ave is yah, an' dats wit' all our baggage lump in." he looks at the sky and adds "Ah mis Riana so much sometimes..."
Rogue has posed:
"Oh come on. We ain't got that much baggage, do we?" Rogue asks this while taking another drag off her cigarette. "Is dating really that bad right now?" Having been off the market for a bit, she's not sure she wants the answer to that question, but it's already asked. She knows it's likely been really tough on Remy since losing Riana. Just the fact that he voices missing her...Rogue places a hand on Remy's shoulder. "You know I'm always here for ya if you need an ear or somethin', Remy. Right? Just because we ain't an item anymore doesn't mean I don't care about ya...I do..."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau shrugs a little bit. "Had a few first dates. A few one night stands. Not'ing dat ever amount to not'ing." He brings his hand up and places it over Rogue's and gives it a light squeeze. There is a fuzzy sensation, not unlike running your hand over an old TV tube as Remy's power puts up a microscopically thin barrier between their skins. "We got so much baggage dat we'd 'ave ta tip de bellboy at least a c-note." He says with a chuckle and adds, "But baggage ain't a bad t'ing chere. Dare a lot of very good memories in all dose bags.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue frowns a little. "I'm sorry, Remy. I really am. You really do deserve someone in your life..." Rogue offers this much while feeling his hand over hers on her shoulder. She looks to it, then to him, and gives him a smile. Listening to the rest of what he says about their baggage, she gives a little laugh. "Yeah. S'pose yer right. But...no...it ain't really a bad thing... just gives us a bit more to talk about sometimes. Sort through the baggage maybe one of these days..." Then she looks to see if Jack's back, turning her hand over to brush fingertips against Remy's palm.
Gambit has posed:
Jack has made it about halfway back when he sees his arch nemisis. His Professor Moriarty. His White Whale. His Perry the Platypus. A proor Red Squierll that lets him chase her then runs up a tree and leaves the poor dog barking like an idiot... which if you ask Remy he is. "Well Ah got a bottle of cheap wine an' expensive scotch back it mah place chere. Any time yah wanna stop by." He says and gives her hand a long lingering touch before letting go.
Rogue has posed:
Rogue gives a laugh in the moment of Jack's antics, but what Remy offered isn't missed by her. "You know... a glass of wine and a game of cards sounds really good right now, Rems. You got the time to entertain someone like me?" She finishes her cigarette off, and then hands it to him because he can likely charge it to ashes. "Otherwise, I can come back another time if you'd rather...wait...or somethin."
Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau takes both butts and gives them a flick away, both of them giving a "pop" not unlike those paper poppers people get on the Forth of July. Jack doesn't even seem to notice as he tilts his head towards the boat house. "soun' like fun ta me chere." He says as he gestures with his head towards the boat house. "Yah in luck, got a pot of Gumbo on, been goin' 'bout t'ree hours so should be juuuuust right.
