Cast of Characters: Burnout, Rainmaker

Burnout has posed:
The banging on the door can probably be heard down the hall. "Grunge! I swear to god if I have to knock this door down..." *bang bang bang* And then comes the muttering, "Are you freaking kidding me?" *bang bang bang bang* "GRUNGE!" All Bobby did was run out to get a soda that would be there once he was done with his shower. The shower that he's currently dressed for, as in, being completely in the buff aside from a towel wrapped around his waist. He ignites his hand for a moment and then turns it off as if still consdering if it's worth it to burn the door down to get back into the room.

Rainmaker has posed:
At the end of the hall, the door to 13F opens up as Sarah pokes her head out, blinking, then leaning against the doorframe, getting a little twinkle in her eyes. "Please don't burn the door down. We already lost our deposit pretty much when Roxie set the couch on fire last week." she says dryly. "Grunge lock you out again? He's probably got his headphones on."

Burnout has posed:
Roxie set the couch on fire. Not him! He would have been able to control it, at least. As Sarah peeks her head out, Bobby makes sure the towel is covering what it needs to cover, "Uh," he blushes rather furiously. "Yeah. I think he does it on purpose, thinking it's funny for some reason." And honestly, if he was on the other side of it, he probably would have thought it was funny as hell. "You don't happen to have a key, do you?"

Rainmaker has posed:
Well, also, cigarette related. Also why they now have ashtrays all over the apartment, to encourage her to not do it again accidentally. "Depends...." the Amerindian girl replies, dryly. "Did you remember to finally give Caitlin a key for your room for emergencies? Because I know Grunge didn't." Her lips twitch. "I mean, I'm not up for picking the lock, though you could go down to the front desk and ask for them to let you in?" She says with obvious amusement.

Burnout has posed:
Bobby Lane lifts one hand to scrub at the back of his head at the question but then feels a draft and brings his hands back down to the towel at his waist. "Think he left a window open? I could go outside..." and fly nekkid to the window? Maybe not. "I don't remember? Maybe?" He knows Grunge wouldn't remember and he wouldn't rely on the other to do such a thing. "I could melt the lock..." but then they'd be left with a broken door still. Apparently it's a big embarassment for him to go to the front desk and ask for help or something. They've probably seen it dozens of times.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah lets out a huff, then waves you over. "C'mon, I can find you something to wear from Caitlin's stuff, should fit better than mine or Roxy's." she says. "Then you won't be as...uncovered." she says with amusement, slipping back inside the suite.

Burnout has posed:
Sarah gets a dubious look when she says that she'll get some of Caitlin's clothes for him. "Uhm..." should be scared? He should probably be scared. Worse comes to worse, he can go downstairs in the towel still. Or throw caution, and the towel, to the wind and give 'em a show. He will, however, follow her into the girls' room. "Maybe you can check to see if Caitlin has that extra key?"

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah's voice drifts back from the open door. "Well if you want to do it the BORING way...but either way, get in here before the lady down in 12F tries to steal your towel.

Inside, when you enter, Sarah motions you over to the battered couch in the corner as she leans down to start going through the top dresser in the main room...apparently where Caitlin keeps her stuff. Because where do you hide stuff? The underwear drawer. No one EVER thinks of looking there, right?

She resolves she should find a more secure place to hide it. Maybe she can get one of those key rocks and put it out on the balcony, so they can get to it if they need to fly up too.

Burnout has posed:
Bobby Lane isn't going to sit, but he'll peer around at the girls' suite. It's not that he's never been in it, but he's not really there to hang out at the moment...so naturally he's going to be a bit curious. "If you got a blanket or a sheet I can use that too. Pretend like it's a toga or something..." again, better than a towel.

Rainmaker has posed:
"No offense Bobby, but we've got, like, one set of sheets per bed, and I don't think any of us really wanna have our sheets rubbing against your man parts." Sarah says wryly. "Okay, so...I don't see it here...just our spare." She sighs and straightens up, shutting the drawer, hands on her hips. "Unless Caitlin actualy found a better place to hide it finally." she adds, biting her lower lip. "Mmm...wait there though, I'm pretty sure some of Cait's athletic shorts and one of her shirts will fit...just a bit big."

She kneels down and starts searching through the lower drawers. "Have you had the chance to use the ID I gave you yet?" she asks as she does.

Burnout has posed:
"Won't her shirts be all stretched out?" Bobby calls but gives a sigh when the key isn't found. "How come your spare is in here? Does that do any good?" He's going to have to find their's and give it to the underwear drawer to keep safe. Bobby peeks back from poking into a cabinet, "Uh. Not yet. Still trying to figure out what I want to do. I mean...I'm not sure where I can apply for a job that just needs an ID and nothing else. It's not like I can even do a resume or have professional references, you know?"

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah snorts. "I think it'll be fine, we're not sending you to the opera or something. Just a loan if you need to run down and get the spare. And I know, I need to put this key out on the balcony..." she says with a frown. "I just...haven't gotten around to it yet." One more thing on her list of things to do.

She tugs out a sports jersey and a pair of sweatshorts Caitlin picked up second hand a while back, but hasn't worn too much lately, then closes the drawer as she straigthens up.

"Well...yeah, there is that, but at least you have a legal identity you can apply for A job for." She frowns. "Priss could only get the IDs, and that was a major deal; we'll have to figure out something. I mean..maybe we can just fake them, and put ourselves down as references to call if you need it. Not like most people are going to check too closely, unless you're in a government job or something." She walks back over, tossing the pile of clothes to you. "And I totally expect you WILL wash those before you bring them back." she says, hands on her hips. "Capische?"

Burnout has posed:
Bobby Lane catches the clothes with one hand, keeping the other on the towel to keep it up. "Thanks...and yeah, I got it. I'll wash them." He even rolls his eyes. Who does she think he is? "It was great that she got those, don't get me wrong. I guess I could always apply at Starbucks." They have good benefits? "What have you decided to do with it? It's a little weird, you know? I guess I always figured I'd be stuck doing this sort of thing eventually," once the foster system kicked him out, "But...I dunno. It kind of feels like going about like just anyone is a little weird." Because they're -not- just anyone. Not anymore.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah idly shoos you towards the bathroom down the opposite hall. "I haven't decided." she says after a moment. And that may be because she's indecive on how good an idea it is to actually try to get a real job or go to a school or...anything like that. "I'm going to worry about getting everyone else settled first, then I'll think about it more. Voluteering right now gives me a decent paycheck.

Burnout has posed:
Bobby Lane hies it to the bathroom and closes the door behind him. It takes only a few moments for him to pull the shorts on and the door is opened as he pulls the shirt over his head. The towel is draped over a shoulder...he won't just leave it there for the girls to deal with. "I thought the point of volunteering was that you didn't get paid for it?" Blue eyes blink ingenuously. "If you went to school, wouldn't you need a transcript?"

Rainmaker has posed:
From the twitch to Sarah's lips, this HAS occured to her, and is a bit of a frustration for her too. "...yes. But it'd be dangerous anyway. Schools are much more public than just disappearing into the job market, especially if Genesis is trolling campuses still or something." Which sounds a lot like sour grapes talking, because it is, though she won't admit it. "And it depends what you volunteer for. It doesn't pay great, but it pays something."

Burnout has posed:
"If we're worried about that," Bobby notes, "Then we shouldn't be in public at all. Because what if they come in to get coffee and I'm working there? What if they come by a shop you're working in to do shopping and run across you?" He runs his hand through his hair again, mussing it, "Do we make ourselves new prison cels or try and live lives and see what happens?" He shrugs, "I don't know the answer to that either."

Rainmaker has posed:
She makes a face at you, frowning. "It's not the same and you know it." Sarah says, folding her arms. "The chances are really, really small that they'd ever stumble over us as long as we keep our heads down, but...they're looking for kids. They'll look at universities. Probably larger ones..' she admits. "But still. It's a risk, and I don't want to put you or the others in danger by doing it unless I'm really sure it's not going to cause trouble."

Burnout has posed:
Bobby Lane shrugs, "So go to a small school?" He's done with school as far as he figures. He barely made it through High School and he's planning on keeping it that way. "It's really nice that you're worried about the rest of us but...you have to worry some about yourself too. Maybe worry about the younger ones? I'll do ok." He always has, mostly. "Do you -want- to go back to school?" That's really the question.

Rainmaker has posed:
Sarah bites her lower lip, chewing lightly. "...I'm thinking about it. There's still a lot to do anyway. You're right, Roxie needs to be back in school before we have truant officers looking for her, and I know Caitlin wants to set up more of a online business that's harder to trace to us, and...there's...Grunge." she adds, making a little face. "I have no idea what he's going to do."

She looks at you thoughfully. "I'm not saying you aren't, just...I seem like I ended up knowing people who can help with ID and stuff like that, so..if I can help out, let me know and I can see what I can find, right?"

Burnout has posed:
"I think Grunge will do whatever the group does," Bobby offers. "Maybe if Roxie goes to school he'll go with her?" At least it would get him out of the hotel room every now and again? As for Sarah, he nods at her comments and her thoughts on Caitlin. "You should. I may go to some music stores and see if they need any help or something." Any listings for bands. It'll be something to do and maybe get a little money from it. It also doesn't require any sort of degree. He, at least fancies himself a strong enough musician for that sort of thing.

There's a pause before he offers, "I don't want us stuck in here, you know? We just need to be on the lookout and prepared." Although he's guessing Sarah and Caitlin have already discussed all of this.

Rainmaker has posed:
There's a pause, then Sarah nods. "I know, I know....I don't want to live like this forever either. But...we need some kind of protection to make sure before we get too crazy about what we do." she says simply. She makes a shooing motion. "And with that said, scoot and get your key. I have a date to get ready for." she says with a faint smile.

Burnout has posed:
"Sure, rub it in..." Bobby smirks but he makes his way towards the door. "Have fun on your date..." and maybe he'll check out the lobby for anything interesting while he gets the front desk to let him in. "Maybe I can kick Grunge out in retribution..." although he may not want the other out on his own. That's asking for more trouble. "Thanks, by the way."

Rainmaker has posed:
"You're welcome Bobby. But seriously, get me that spare and I'll put it out on our balcony s oyou can get to it next time." she says with a faint smile, waving as you head out. "Ta ta!" She closes the door as she steps back inside.
