What Are Roomies For

Tendril has posed:
    It's the fourth day of classes already, and your roomie is a slacker, as far as you can tell. Or at least, the pile of makeup work from her time in the Wellness Center is still stacked on the desk on her side of the room, gathering dust. Not to mention not been coming back to the room often at night. Though it's not hard to guess where.

    Still, for once when Dani returns to the room, Lexi is there, perched on her bed, with her earphones on.

    More interestingly, she's singing along...not badly either, in a soft alto.

    She seems to be...practicing?

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani takes a seat in the chair, then spins it around to look at Lexi, giving her a wry look, even as she doesn't say anything at first, not wishing to interrupt as she does look curious about the singing. Her head tilts slightly, and she quirks a smile as she takes in the song.

Tendril has posed:
    The other girl does seem to be putting a lot of heart into it. She's definitely not a trained singer, but she's hitting all the notes. Even swaying a bit as she follows the rhythm of the song.

    And then she flubs the next line apparently, as she lets out a sharp 'tch' sound of annoyance, then reaches down to pause the player, before she wiggles the earphones off her pointed ears, tugging a bit to free it as her hair has already started winding around it.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins, "Not bad, but I think that's got a bit of a meaning to it, Lexi." She looks at her roomie with no small amount of concern, "What's going on?" No real preamble, she's not going to bother with that. Not after the past month of living together, anyway.

Tendril has posed:
    There's a little jump and a squeak as she looks over sharply, then blushes furiously. "...dammit, how do ya keep doin' that?" she mutters, then sets down the earphones, as she turns and settles her back against the all by her bed, pulling a knee up. "...lots." she admits softly. "The tiger thing, an' Tabby, an'...stuff I've been meanin' ta tell someone about." she says slowly.

    "You?"

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani hmms, "Well, just watching my roommate getting more and more distracted by everything. So." She crosses over and sits next to Lexi on the bed, looking over at her, "Where do you want to start, Lexi?" A warm smile, no judgment there.

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi watches, you, then takes a deep breath. "I totally accidentally triggered a huge gang war in Mutant Town an' that's why Tigger was keepin' me from leavin' th' mansion, cuz...I already got hurt once, an' she thinks I'm gonna get jumped if I go back now."

    She bites her lower lip. "An' Tigger was part of that, an' I really, really want to keep her safe, but I promised not ta talk about a lotta stuff, but I wanted ta let you know, but then things were busy, an' then I got stabbed an' stuff, an'...an' you seemed upset by somethin' but we kept gettin' pulled away before I could ask ya what's wrong...so...um...your turn?"

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani sighs, "Sam is being... annoying, because apparently he can't accept that I'm just not in love with him the way he wants me to be." She bangs her head back against the wall, "It wouldn't be so bad to deal with save for the fact that I know he's not as into me as he claims he is."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi tilts her head, her brow furrowing slightly. "...is he buggin' ya?" she says uncertainly. "I mean, if he's creepin' on ya, then....I'll kick him. Real hard." she promises solemnly, then frowns. "...Tabby said she needed ta talk to him too, actually...."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani looks a bit wryly back at Lexi, "Yeah, apparently he's professing true love for both of us, without telling the other person about it." She looks moderately irritated by that, "And he's... well, it's not worth it, Lexi. Trust me. He's doing what he's gonna do, and best thing is not worry about it and just be happy with my own life."

Tendril has posed:
    That...causes Lexi to blink slowly. "...what?" she says, her tone a bit even. She frowns, her eyes narrowing, then sniffs. "...hmmph. He's totally a playa, huh?" She frowns, then gets up from her bed, walking to hop up on yours, then slides her arms around you to give you a firm hug. "...sorry hon. That musta hurt." she says quietly.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani leans in a bit to the hug, returning the gesture as she smiles a little, "Thanks Lexi. And... well, what hurt was that he was trying to make it sound like the same thing that Sarah and I have, which it isn't. I never tried leading him on about what was happening." She wrinkles her nose a bit, then sighs.

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi mmmms, then tilts her head. "Maybe he kinda built it up in his head...put ya on a pedestal? I mean..." She smiles a bit. "Ya ARE pretty awesome." She playfully tugs at one of your braids gently, then frowns. "No wonder Tabby was lookin' a bit upset. She must not know what ta do, an' she doesn't wanna tell me cuz she's afraid I'm gonna walk out on her or somethin'." She siiighs a bit. "Honestly Dani...am...am I doing this right? I mean...I really love her, but I feel like she doesn't believe it sometimes."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins at Lexi, "I think you're fine... honestly, Tabby... well, she's been through a lot." The smile fades as she grows more serious, "I think it's the fact that Tabby just feels you're too good to be true. Honestly, I've never seen her act around anyone, or feel about anyone, the way she feels about you Lexi. But, well, she's also got a bit of a temper, so..." She chuckles a bit, "But you know that about her anyway."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi frowns. "...I want to bite her dad. Real hard. He was an ASSHOLE." she growls a bit. "I keep tryn' to convince her she's great, an' she keeps hearin' him in her head." Her eyes get a little playful. "...weeeellll, unless I really, um, distract her lots."

    She flushes. "Um, by the way, do you know who's in the room next to Tabby? Cuz I should get them, like, chocolates, or flowers or...somethin'. T'make up for the noise...."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani actually laughs at that, "I don't, but I can find out Lexi." She nods, "But yeah, he was. But she cares about you a lot Lexi, and she worries too." She smiles warmly and hugs Lexi, "So... what's up with the backlog? Did you need a hand with any of it?"

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi peers over. "Meh...I just...I havent' been motivated ta work on it yet." she admits, frowning as she rubs her side absently. "...the doctor told me some stuff, an' it's sorta...I don't know what to think about it." she admits after a moment. She tugs up her t-shirt to show Dani where she was stabbed...and, welll, it looks..perfectly normal. Unblemished, unmarked skin. No sign of an injury.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani blinks, "Well... okay, that's not too unusual. I mean, well, I know a lot of people that heal quickly. But you don't normally do that, I'm guessing?"

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi smiles weakly. "Um, well...it's not regeneration. Not exactly." She lets the shirt drop. "...my cells just...reset. To what they were before they were damaged. They don't grow new stuff or anything, so I guess if I lost an arm or somethin', I'd be outta luck."

    She idly rubs the spot. "...but it means I won't age." she says quietly. "I mean...maybe a little bit, if I'm not full grown, but once I hit that point....I just won't change, physically."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani tilts her head, "Wow. That's... so you're not going to age, once you mature fully? Or how... how does that exactly work?" She glances over at Lexi, sensing that the girl isn't terribly comfortable with the idea.

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi swallows. "My cells just reset. So...they don't split. They don't copy themselves, so they don't get progressively weaker from th' copying. So...I'm never gonna age, yeah." She frowns softly. "...but yer all gonna age..." she says softly. "An'..an' I don't know what ta think about that. I mean...I...I wondered if I should even stick with someone, if...if that's gonna happen. Wouldn't they get jealous of me? And...and I'd have to watch them age while I stay frozen like this..."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani sighs, "I don't know, Lexi. But personally, I think it's better to live life and all its pain and joy than to just shut yourself off." She smiles wryly at Lexi, "Besides, what makes you think I'm going to age that much? I'm a Valkyrie now. I don't know how the rules work for them, either."

Tendril has posed:
    "...that seems like somethin' they shoulda put in th' manual.." Lexi admits after a moment, smiling faintly. She sighs. "I know, it's just...I didn't expect it. An' I healed...way faster than last time somethin' like this happened." She grumbles. "..but I'm still not much used to th' rest of you yet. I mean...yer in a team, ya know what everyone else can do an' stuff pretty much, an' you know how to work together, an' I'm....not really good at team stuff." she admits.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani nods, then grins wryly, "You think I was at first? Or Boomer? Everyone learns, Lexi, and you're gonna learn with the rest of us." She looks over at Lexi, "You've got heart, Lexi, and you've got a lot of potential. We'll make sure that you can reach it."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi smiles a bit, then mmphs. "...I still think yer all crazy goin' into another freakin' dimension to find a crazy six armed witch girl." she says bluntly. "But...I understand why yer doing' it." She frowns. "...I'm just gonna be here worryin' while you're gone, is all."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani chuckles, "Maybe so, but by the same token... ain't no shortage of windmills to tilt at, hmmm?" She looks at Lexi, and hugs her again, "This is... it's something we have to do."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi sighs, then leans into the hug a bit. "I know. I can't tell ya not to..." She frowns. "...I kinda yelled at Tabby over it...well that, an' she kept runnin' herself down and I kinda got a little angry over it." She twitches her nose. "...I kinda called her a ditzy blonde, but I apologized for it! I was just..." She grumbles. "I hate it when she runs herself down, an' I told her as much.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani nods. "She has a hard time believing in herself, yeah. But I figured you'd be a good person to help her out with that." She grins, "You two are pretty cute together."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi flushes at that. "...it's a little scary, but in a good way." She smiles a bit. "She keeps givin' me gifts...like, poems, an' stuff. She even got a tattoo ta remind her of me!" she says, looking a bit overwhelmed by that. "I...I don't know what to think about that, it's wonderful, it's a little scary, I feel a little guilty that she did something all permanent like that, and..." She sighs.

    She squirms, and blushes deeper. "And...I r-really like just...um...'sleeping over'." she says, looking down at her lap. You can practically hear the quotes about that. Not that Dani wouldn't know she's scampered in through the window just short of room check some nights.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani grins, "Well, good. I gotta admit I like sleeping over down in New York with Sarah too." She sighs a bit, looking relaxed, "And Lexi, you deserve all the happiness in the world. You //both// do, so enjoy the ride, because it's going to be fun."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi hmms, then gives her roomie a good squeeze. "...I wanna make her happy. An' I'm glad Sarah's makin' you happy too!" She smiles softly. "I still wanna meet her somtimes, it seems like every time it might happen, we got weird schedules and can never get in th' same room so far." she says, with a faint pout. "Maybe you can bring her to Hanley's sometime?"

    Her eyes twinkle a bit. "Or, ah, I can be not here sometime an' you can pretend she's me to th' hall monitors when they do th' bed checks.

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani laughs a bit, "I might just do that. I don't want to cause any trouble with the teachers by sneaking in someone outside the school, though. I mean, I know Sarah isn't a risk, but... teachers might not see it that way."

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi considers. "You know, when ya turn 18, you could just move in with her?" she says thoughfully. "I mean, ya got Brightwind. Not like you coulld't commute." she says playfully. "I mean, if yer still able ta sit on a horse after a night staying over or somethin'..."

Moonstar has posed:
    Dani mmms, "Well, I'll probably figure out an arrangement when I graduate, I'm sure. Maybe move down there, or see if she wants to come up to Salem Center. Not sure how entranced she is with the big city." She then yawns a bit, then hugs you again, "Lexi, I think it's time to crash out, just make sure to close the window if you sneak out to see Tabby." She winks, then stretches and yawns again, this time with far more enthusiasm.

Tendril has posed:
    Lexi blushes embarrassedly. "No, gonna sleep here tonight...I mean...I don't wanna make her think that's th' -only- reason I wanna see her..." Though of course, she's a healthy girl with her first real outlet for a LOT of things. She gives a last little squeeze, then slides off the bed. "'Sides, I miss my roomie, we haven't gotten ta hang out in a while cuz of everythin'." She wanders over to her bed, pulling back the covers, then shedding her shorts and t-shirt before she slides underneath, curling up. "Night Dani!"
