Vacationing in Latveria
Date of Scene: 10 September 2017
Location: Latveria
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: X-Man, Domino, Madelyne Pryor

X-Man has posed:
After a couple eventful days of flying around New York, meeting a few more people, Nate is totally convinced that the World is very different but perhaps no less Crazy than his own. That being said, he had given his word to Madelyne and Doom that he would come back. At some point, he reminds himself, he needs to have Madelyne show him how to do her teleportation trick, because it just feels right to him.

Without the abilty to teleport to Latveria, Nate has taken the time to fly there, and enjoy the trip. As he gets close to the City that he last met Madlyne and Doom he sends out a mental ping to her, but nothing more than a notification that he's on his way.

He floats above the City, not probing for Madelyne's presence, but taking in the area for a moment. He's interested in the people, and what they are doing here. His presence is easily felt as he is not trying to hide himself, but he does push out a compulsion to normal humans to ignore the floating man in the sky.

Domino has posed:
There's another presence with Madelyn, a mutant. One that might be familiar to Nate, and maybe not in the best way.

Inside the castle, in a floor reserved as living space, Neena Thurman is seated on the cushions of a sumptuous couch (green) set on a rug (green) spread over hardwood floors. A fireplace behind her is lit and warm, casting golden light over the various tapestries on the wall (also mostly green). She's got a laptop in front of her, a coffee service on the table in front of her, and a pad of paper and pen to the right of her.

X-Man has posed:
There's a bit of a flash, a memory from the other presence, but it isn't quite the same. Still, he senses Madelyne, and that's good enough for him.. for now. He floats down toward the Castle, eventually finding an open balcony, and not considering that perhaps his presence has been watched since his approach.

A few more minutes as he follows the mental trail to the two mutants, and Nate pokes his head into the room as he calls out "Hey, Madelyne..." he walks a few more hesitant steps in, "...it's Nate. I hope I'm not interrupting anything?"

His foot steps continue into the room, a little hesitant, but he can't quite make anyone out yet. "I know you're in here with someone else, kind of weird, seems like someone I've sensed before..."

Domino has posed:
Nate. There's a coincidence.

Domino stands up, dressed in her usual black suit minus extra gear. Even when she should be relaxing, she doesn't. Not entirely. Not now, anyways. Bodyguarding doesn't afford much time for unwinding.

"If you're looking for Madelyn, you can come in here," Dom offers. "And you can check in through me first."

X-Man has posed:
"Ok..." Nate responds back, again something familiar both in psionic signature and now the voice, but again it's not something that immediately triggers any memories. He finally get's into the room where Domino is standing, "I think she's expectin..." and he stops in mid-sentence and mid step.

The face is not the same, hair is not the same, but there's no doubt the similarity is uncanny. His easy manner starts to close down, the light in his left eye brightens, and his eyes narrow. "Wait..." his voice going a little colder as he's taken back to a dark place in his life, "...who...who are you?"

Domino has posed:
Domino's easygoing demeanor falls away like loose dust in a passing breeze. She turns her head to the side, brows knitted together in uncertainty, lips slightly parted, questioning.

"... Domino," she answers after a moment of uneasy silence. Her posture is alert. Almost tense.

X-Man has posed:
As the name is spoken there's a flare up around Nate, psionic energy sparking off him like lightning, and the air in the room get's heavy. The eye flashes even brighter, like a little star on his face, his hands clench as his hands slowly turns into fists, "Who.. do... you... work... for?" Nate says through a grimace. His eyes take in the room agian, calculating, like a tactician would.

To Domino, the stance he takes could be recognized as any one of the defensive positions she knows. There's a more insistent mental push in her direction, not really subtle, but not overwhelming at this point. In fact, the touch may have a very strange familiarity to it. One that maybe she has experienced before.

Domino has posed:
"Whoa, Whoa, WHOA!" Domino protests, stepping back, putting an arm up defensively. "First off you're in someone else's house, let's not be rude here. Being rude here gets a Doombot so far up your ass you'll be tasting metal for a week!" she protests. "Secondly, I work for a lot of people, but primary for myself!

She's sliding her hand towards the gun in a holster at her thigh, when the hairs on the back of her neck stand up. Goosebumps. She knows this feeling, this particular TK field. That field has been the very opposite of hostile against her mind and body.

Her eyes fix on him, shock creeping over her features. No. This is -not- right. No. What happened.

".... Nate?" she manages to choke out.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
There's a soft click of heels on the balcony behind Nate, before a even, yet familiar voice says tightly. "Nate. What are you doing to Neena?" Madelyne was already on her way down, once she sensed Nate coming...something only accelerated when she felt that sense of alarm from Domino.

From her tone, this has made her less than happy to find Domino in a defensive position and Nate facing off against her.

X-Man has posed:
His feet slowly lift off the ground, his hair starting to drift with the energy surrounding him, "I know where I'm at..." the young man rumbles back, his voice dropping an octave as his breathing takes on a fighter's calm rhythm. "...you, I think I know you, but it can't be possible."

At the mention of his name, he pauses a moment, no... she didn't know his name before. What is this... "No, that's not right... you didn't know my name before..." He starts to say, and then he hears and feels Madelyne's presence.

He glances back to see her then, his aura remains strong, incredibly so, "Madelyne, Domino.." He says, his eyes slipping between the two women, "...she's not the same as before, I don't think." reactively his mental shields slam up, and he's locked tight. "She worked for Apocalypse, she killed my friends..."

Domino has posed:
Domino lowers her arm, frowning. "Wait, -what-? I never worked for Apocalypse. I never would!"

The way he talks - the displaced, disoriented, out-of-phase-with-reality kind of way, is all too familiar to Neena. It's the way Cable talks. It's the way he's always talked - his feet on the ground, his head in future.

"Who did this to you Nathan?" she asks, stepping forward towards him, features softening. "I mean, I'm not going to complain too much, you look pretty good for that age but -- what the hell! You -abandoned- me, Nate! You ran off on another one of your g*ddamn missions, you left me to be tortured by Tolliver for a year, and then Vanessa--" She pauses, sucks in a sharp breath, hands balled into fists. "I want an explanation. The Wild Pack's dead, you went missing when I needed you most!"

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Madelyne deliberately walks forward slowly, then steps in front of Nate, those green eyes watching him intently. "...this..." she hisses softly. "Is not your world. You will -not- threaten my mother."

There's more of a cobra with its hood extended now in her body language, her mercurial mood shifting straight to where she'd be growling if she was canine. "So...sit...down."

And just like that, she's back to her previously playfulness. "And we'll talk. YOu have things to talk about, from the sound of it, and I want to hear them..." She gestures to whatever furniture Domino has in her room.

X-Man has posed:
"You know about Apocalypse?!" Nate's hatred for the Tyrant is palpable to all those in the room, maybe even to those in the Castle. "He's here? Somewhere? We have to kill him..." his anger at Domino is almost entirely redirected. Oddly enough, his comments don't seem frantic, he's already considering how it can be done.

Then he's thrown off by Domino's accusations, "Wait.." now he definitely reaches out to her mentally, most of the aggression gone, a tentative link to try to understand, "Who is Tolliver? or Vanessa?.." He frowns, shaking his head, "...no I wouldn't. I wouldn't let my friends die..."

And then Madelyne is there, angry, "Mother?!" He's pretty sure his head is about to explode at this point, "That.. that can't be..." his aura recedes, but the light in his eye remains the just as bright. "None of this makes any sense."

Domino has posed:
"There's a lot of things i know... but he's not a threat. Not now. Probably not ever again," Domino explains, trying to assuage Nate's confusion. She glances over to Madelyn. "I think ... maybe I can help here. Don't be too angry with him. If he's who I think he is, there's a lot going on in his head. Sometimes there's headaches. Bad ones. Visions. It's like his body is here and his mind is somewhere else." She gestures to the couch. "Go ahead, have a seat. I think we can all get through this."

Domino gestures for Nate to have a seat at one of the overstuffed chairs arranged near the couch and coffee table. She can feel that telepathic link - and on the reverse end, it's like a key that perfectly matches a lock. He - or some form of him - has been in Neena's mind. There's no difficulty or resistance.

Surface thoughts are of a much older version of himself, gray haired, metal arm, scar across one of his eyes. There's the two of them fighting side by side along with other mutants, mercenary work. Sometimes for the good guys. Sometimes for the bad. But always towards the ultimate goal of saving the future. There's more, and this is likely were it gets unsettling. That older version of him was very close to Domino. Intimately close. For years.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"Well, that would explain it then..." Madelyne says with a little shrug, then saunters over to seat herself in a nearby chair, leaving the couch to the two of you. After all, you seem to have some ideas on what you need to talk about, and she's rather curious to see what's said. She's being polite, after all, and not just burrowing in to see if she can see all these interesting stories she senses. It's rude.

Besides, Neena would smack her and Nate can probably keep her out, anyway.

X-Man has posed:
"What?" Nate pushes the palms of his hands into his eyes, "Forge, he knew about the visions, but no one else. He promised me to not tell anyone else." The glowing slowly weaknes until he's standing there, his thoughts a chaotic mess, and he stumbles more than walks to the offered chair.

Nate's telepathic link is incredible strong, not blunt but lacking fine tuned skill. He absorbs the images, and his own flow back through. A horrible place of death, destruction, and madness. Fighitng. Killing. For a long time, and far younger than anyone should.

"The you that I know, the Right Hand of Apocalypse..." He starts slowly, "...his executioner. He sent you to capture me with Caliban and Grizzly. They all killed my friends... but they couldn't kill me." He shakes his head, slowly lowering his hands, "Unless he's dead, Apocalypse will be back, and he won't stop... I was born to kill him..."

Domino has posed:
"Grizzly just being alive again... would be something. Poor Theodore." Domino's grief is real, if fleeting. She pushes it back down again. She's forced to recall weeping over his body in the cold just hearing his name.

"This is [censored]-up," she sighs, rubbing her forehead. Turning to the couch, she closes the laptop and sets them on the table, moving things off the couch. "Coffee if you want it," she offers, gesturing to the silver service.

"Nate -- *my* Nate -- was born to do the same thing. It's what we were always working towards," she explains, for the benefit of both Nate and Maddie. "It looks like what we have here is a man out of time. Out of dimensions, too. It looks like the me of where he came from is more "T-1000". And my Nate is older, grumpier, and has a higher metal composition."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Maddie looks thoughful at this. "So...this..older Nate is from our world, and this Nate is from a parallel world? It sounds like there was already some major changes, if this person isn't alive here..." She pauses. "...and you'd mentioned that Apocalypse was....not an issue either anymore? Do you actually know the mutant he's talking about?"

X-Man has posed:
Looking up to Madelyn, Nate shakes his head, "Look, sorry.. It's hard to explain..." and his eye flashes brightly, and the area around them disappears. The group is standing in a desolate landscape, the heat can be felt, the wind is harsh as it blows through across the land. Nate is arguing with a version of Forge that looks more Machine than Man, the arguement revolves around the destruction of a human harvesting plant. The emotions can be felt from the two in the arguement. Then in the background an explosion is heard, and voice eerily like Dominos but far far colder can be heard "Come out, come out wherever you are..."

The view shifts to the corpse of Toad, his stomach ripped open by claws of some large beast. Mastermind, his body melted by some high energy yield weapon. Sauron, wing crippled, with a version of Domino, older and darker, standing nearby with a malicious smile. The blood can be smelt in the air, the dead bodies you can sense the signs of life escaping them, and then an explosion of power so strong that the ground shakes. Next is an image of Nate hovering over Domino, syphoning the thoughts and memories from her mind, and forcing her to feel every death she committed in Apocalypses name.

THen there's a surge of fear, a quick thought, and the picture shifts again. There is the destroyed, literally dismantled, form of Forge on the ground. Nate looks up from the image of his Foster Father dying, and the face that is looking down at him is Sinister, although long haired and with a goatee, saying "Yes! Now fullfill your Destiny. Kill Apocalypse..." Then the image abruptly cuts off, "Eh, Sorry, not great at controlling that yet..." and you all are seated back in the room.

Domino has posed:
"...."

She always wondered what she was capable of. Domino looks at Domino - other Domino. Looks at all that could have been, in some other time and place. A gray-haired man in a black shirt - a General - standing on the other side of a thick glass, his voice audible over the speakers into the nursery. "That's a weapon. -My- weapon."

It's hard to break out of that. Whatever Nate did by accident triggered an old, deep memory, half buried. Was this what she was actually supposed to be? Is this why she can't stop running, fighting, doing what she does?

She witnesses through memory her own death. Is this how it was going to end? ... Certainly she always felt like Cable would be the death of her, but not in that situation. Not in that way.

Neena is quiet, unsettled. Her usual cool demeanor and smart mouth are failing her. She just witnesses the memory of her own death at the hands of someone who, despite the age difference, was someone she had loved. Someone she'd wanted to spend the rest of her life with. Have children with. Die with.

She tilts her head down, just a little, letting long black hair sweep down over her shoulders, curtaining her face, her eyes. She can't bring herself to let the moisture gathering in the corner of her lashes.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Madelyne closes her eyes as those images wash over her. Easier to focus. There's a twitch primarily at Domino's appearance in this strange other world...and a surge of flickering emotions at seeing her....dying. The image from Domino's past.

But she doesn't share her own. It wouldn't add anything to the discussion. But she does, after a moment, get up, then wordlessly moves over to sit next to Domino, then quietly slides her arms around her middle, resting her head against her shoulder as she hugs her, a wordless wash of warmer emotions, an awkward attempt to comfort from someone who is not overly good at it.

She doesn't say anything, or interrupt, beyond that.

X-Man has posed:
He hadn't thought about the outcome it would have, and again Nate hears the echos from his past.. Forge's voice "Boy, think before you act.." From the open connection with Domino she feels a deep regret, and very real sorrow from the young man. "Hey, I'm sorry..." His voice rough with emotion, "...She wasn't you. She could never be you." His voice gaining strength as he talks, "I lived through what she did to people. i can tell... feel... you are not anywhere near the same."

He stands slowly, he seems a bit hesitant, as if he's about to close the gap, but instead takes a step backwards away from Madelyne and Domino. "And this older me... there's something special there, and I know I could never do that to someone I cared that much for. I'd rather blow up the world than do that to someone..." He let's out a long breath, '...I'm just sorry. I shouldn't have shown that." He takes a few more steps towards the open balcony. Through the link, Domino can tell he's holding back a fairly intense migraine after such an exertion, and he wipes blood away from his nose. "Uh.. I"ll just go.."

THe's struggling with the thoughts and images, and the powerful telepathic connection. Perhaps there is more to the connection between Nate and Cable... Something that goes beyond a physical conneciton, but a psionic one as well.

Domino has posed:
Domino puts an arm around Maddie. "Thank you," she murmrs to the young lady. She means it.

"Nate, you don't have to go." She looks up at him. "Not with that nosebleed anyways. You're gonna need some time to let your mind sort itself out and heal. Just sit, we can get you something to eat, you can rest. I have a computer you can use to make a game plan for yourself. That's one thing Cable always stressed - planning." She smiles a little. "At least, stressed that -I- plan things, anyways."

She takes a deep, cleansing breath. "That was ... something else. Sorry, caught me offguard. I'll be all right."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
The redheaded young woman shifts a bit, then as Domino thanks her as she leans back, straightening. She looks between the two, her eyes flicking back and forth, before she says, a bit bluntly. "Better than you rip the bandage off now and find out where the scars match for the people you remember, than stumbling over it again and again and accidentally hurting again. At least if you both know now that you're going to be talking about people who aren't the ones you remember, you aren't going to be...suprised. Even if it hurts a bit."

She stands up suddenly and walks over to flop down in the chair again, crossing her legs as she leaves her hands on the arms of the chair. "That's why I thought you should stay here first so you had time. That way you don't disintegrate someone because of what they were in your world." It's a more clinical tone now...like that wouldn't necessarily be unfortunate in and of itself, but because you might be doing it for the wrong reasons.

X-Man has posed:
"I'll be ok,.." Wiping off a bit more blood on his sleeve, "I'm a soldier. I"m trained for everything." Nate gives a cocky grin back with is comment. One that she might have heard before in an older voice. "Yeah, my head is killing me a bit..." then he thinks about it for a moment, and tentatively removes the link he's setup between them.

"Wait a sec..." He adds in Madelyne's direciton, "...I've not blown anything up since I"ve been here. The mountain doesn't count, because..." He thinks for a moment, "...well, it just shouldn't count this time." He does stop moving towards the balcony, "That's true, I like to think about where I"m headed next, but sometimes you just have to get in the mix." He takes a moment to consider the offer, "Yeah, actually, it might be a good idea to get my head straight first."

Domino has posed:
"There's plenty of guest rooms if you need to sleep or recover," Domino offers Nate, agreeing with Madelyn. The imperiousness of the young woman is not lost on her - yep. A young queen in the making. Probably gets it from Doom's side of the family. How could she -not-.

She does aside to Madelyn, "Y'know, last time I checked I was the parent around here. Or at least the resident adult." She teases a bit. "But you aren't wrong, getting it all out in the open is the better policy." Clever girl. And she's not even a raptor!

She leans back into the couch. "The number of people in this room created to be weapons is too damn high," she mutters.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Madelyne watches thoughtfully, then says simply. "The way you've reacted to people, if there wasn't someone there to stop you, would you have thought to make sure about some of the people you truly hate before you took them apart, what they're like here as opposed to what they were like there?" She leans forward, elbows on the arms of the chair as her fingers interlace, her chin resting on them.

She then pause to roll her eyes at Domino. "I'm perfectly adult. Nearly." she points out, with a bit of a pout in her voice.

X-Man has posed:
"Thank you." Nate nods to Domino, "I'd like to use a computer too if you don't mind. I haven't had any luck getting access so I can learn more about what this place is like." He pauses to consider Madelyne's thoughts, "There are two people I'd probably not have a second thought about... and I doubt either of them can ever be that different..." He does a second look to Domino, though, "Well... I could be wrong, but I doubt it."

"But I'll think about what you've said. It makes sense. I should be more careful." Looking between the two women, he adds "Again, both sorry and thank you."
