Cast of Characters: 51, Green Arrow

Dinah (51) has posed:
This is, for what it is worth, one of the nicer parts of Gotham. The part of the city where maybe one can forget the fact that there are problems with crime in other areas, problems that have been going on for decades and that does't seem to be going away anytime soon despite the efforts of the heroes who can be found within the boundaries of the gothic city. People here are not quite as afraid to show pride in their money and they seem to hold their heads a little higher, not quite as discomforted by the idea of meeting the eyes of those they pass on their way down the sidewalk. Still not the kind of place you'd want to be in alone at night, but during the day there is a noticeable contrast to how the rest of Gotham can be.

Or so it seems to Dinah, at least.

Here for a delivery, the blonde florist exits one of the office buildings, dressed in capri pants and a tee that bears the Sherwood Florist logo upon it, the pale greenery and hot pink flowers on a black shirt, the script used to spell out the name of her shop flowing, pretty. The side door to her van is closed via a key fob but she hesitates on getting into the driver's seat, instead taking the time to look at a small notebook to see where she needs to go next.

Green Arrow has posed:
It did not take long for Oliver Queen to make good on his promise to visit Gotham. The city really was on his list and not just for environmental reasons. The city is a cess pool of crime and he'd been itching to try out his new vigilante guide as the Green Arrow on the denizens of that pool. Then there was Dinah but she was really just the cherry on top of it all. So a few weeks after their meeting in Canada Oliver had obtained a suite at the Ritz and made several appointments to scout locations for the Gotham branch of Queen Industries. It was to one of these meetings he was heading to when he exited his hotel and saw...

"Dinah?" The shock on his face is genuine when he sees her standing by her van. "What an amazing coincidence," he says as he walks towards her. "Or you've been stalking me and this is all an elaborate plan. Either way it's good to see you."

Dinah (51) has posed:
Cue one shocked gasp and the blush that follows, Dinah as genuinely surprised as Oliver is. Takes her a moment to recover from that although it doesn't really seem like the red face is going to go away any time soon. "Oliver! Well, hello. Color me surprised." Chuckling, she looks at the vehicle behind her from over a shoulder before chucking a thumb in its direction, smirking some as she does. "I was here to deliver an arrangement to someone who is retiring. Although if I were stalking you, I'd be doing bad at it, considering you saw me."

Stepping closer, she offers the rich man a hand although she's not sure if doing that is bordering on too polite for such a casual meeting that's taking place due to happenstance. "What brings you here?"

Green Arrow has posed:
"You did, sort of," he says. "You promised me a tour of your shop, Sherwood Florist. I mean I was planning on coming to Gotham anyway but you just helped me move things up a bit. Technically my reason for coming here is to open a Gotham branch of Queen Industries. Business is always just a means to an end. Helping clean up the bay, maybe get a few parks protected, and visit with my new friend Dinah." Moving in close he leans up against the side of Dinah's van grinning from ear to ear.

"And I never claimed you were a good stalker. Most stalkers are actually aren't that's why so many get caught. If it's not stalking then I guess we'd have to chalk it up to destiny. This would be the second time chance has brought us together. If you believe in that sort of thing," he says with a shrug. "You on your way to a delivery now? I don't want to keep you. We can't have Sherwood Florist getting a bad internet rating. Do they rate florists on Yelp? To be honest I'm not sure what they rate on Yelp. I just know it's a thing..." His brow furrows as he thinks on this for a moment.

Dinah (51) has posed:
Dinah laughs a little. "Ah. I see. So it's all my fault, in a way. I can't say I am sorry to learn that it is the case. And opening a branch of your business here? Truly? Well. I must say. You might be seeing a lot of me here, assuming you will be in Gotham often." Oh God. Did she just say that? Really? Groaning at herself, inwardly, she blushes harder and quietly chides herself for being so... lame. Oliver manages to snap her out of the internal-grousing just by speaking and she shakes her head, grimacing in mock-disappointment. "Well, yes. I do suppose you're correct. And I probably would be the worst out of all of the bad ones." Stepping towards the van, she peeks in looking at what is all in her van, "I do have a little more I need to do. Got a couple more arrangements to deliver but I'm free for a few hours after that. Maybe we can do lunch?" As for Yelp? "Yes. People give all sorts of businesses reviews and ratings on that."

Green Arrow has posed:
"Oh, I'll be here often. I just signed an agreement for a suite here at the Ritz as a matter of fact. I like to stay with a new branch of Queen Industries for at least a few months to get things up and running. Especially with my new environmental protocols in place. Things in Star City are starting to purr along quite nicely so...Gotham here I am," he says spreading his arms wide.

He nods and smiles again when she mentions her deliveries and lunch, "I think that'd be great. Maybe you can show me around town a bit. I hear Gotham is a roug hand tumble place so maybe you can show me the places to avoid," he says leaving out 'during the day'. He'd very much like to know what places to hit at night, however.

Dinah (51) has posed:
"Well, the Ritz, huh? Fancier than I could ever afford. Must be nice." Dinah smiles at Oliver, pushing back a slight twinge of envy to the side. "Room service, fancy... stuff." Yeah. Stuff. Dinah has no clue what one can find in a hotel like that. "Oh well. Maybe someday I'll be able to experience it." Someday. If she wins the lottery. Or gains a sugar daddy. Or something. Right.

The passenger side door is opened for the CEO of Queen Industries, her way of inviting him along. "It won't take too long. But if you're feeling the urge to be helpful, you could always help me bring the arrangements in." The request for a tour and showing him the unsafe places has Dinah quirking a brow at him. "This is Gotham. Assume there's no real safe place." She'll still show him around.

Green Arrow has posed:
"Well you know what they say, show me yours and I'll show you mine. You're free to come up for a tour any time. Though I think you might be disappointed. Most of the service people are snooty and, if I'm being honest, I don't care much for their food. But I hear it's a safe building in a fairly safe neighborhood so here we are." The invitation to join her is met with a nod as he climbs into the van.

"Do you mind if I ask you a question? Why do you stay in Gotham if it's so dangerous? Your skillset would be welcome most anywhere, people always need florists. Weddings, graduations, funerals, parties, and just random special occasions. I'd imagine you'd do quite well for yourself in, say, Barlow, North Dakota or something. Why stay here in the crime capital of the world?" He seems genuinely curious.

Dinah (51) has posed:
"The food has got to be better than take-out Chinese or greasy pizza," Dinah quips, trying not to sound too jealous. It probably does seep into her voice a little, but there is obvious effort put into the effort. "And I'm used to snooty, Ollie. I deliver flowers for a living, after all. I get to deal with stuck-up, pretentious rich people all the time." The conversation is put on pause while she goes around to her side of the van, gets in and gets buckled up. "Would still be nice to see how the other side lives for more than however long it takes to complete a delivery."

The key gets slipped into the ignition and the van starts albeit with a little bit of work and some prayer to go along with it. Poor thing is old, easily fifteen years old, if not older, and it is on its last leg. Yup. She's embarrassed about that, but she hasn't been able to afford any but the most basic of repairs. "Why? Because I like it here. For all its faults there's something about Gotham I would really miss if I were to leave." There's also the fact that she feels the city needs her - well, needs the Black Canary - but of course there's no mention of that. With a lurch and a grinding of gears, the van is pulled away from the curb.

Green Arrow has posed:
"Don't envy the rich too much," Ollie says noting the slight tone in her voice. "Take it from someone who lived among them and got knocked down to about the lowest point you can go. They lead hollow, empty lives and most of them aren't even aware of it. Before I got lost on Starfish Island I was wasting my life and ignoring the impact I could truly have in the world. Getting lost on that island was the best thing that could have happened to me. It taught me to appreciate the truly finer things in life...like take-out Chinese and greasy pizza. I'd have killed for a meat lovers on more than on ocassion," he says with a wistful look on his face.
"And I get that. There's no place like home, after all. Well Dinah Lance, I'm hoping to make Gotham my second home. I think the city could use people like us. And don't take this the wrong way but this van could use a good mechanic. How late do you deliver? I'd hate to think about you being stranded out on the mean streets of Gotham after dark..."

Dinah (51) has posed:
Mid-day traffic in Gotham is not fun to have to deal with. Everyone's out on their lunch break, trying to do errands or get to wherever it is they want to go for whatever reason. Not quite stop-and-go, but close. Stuck behind a fancy car, Dinah mutters a few choice words under her breath, forgetting for a moment that she has company with her. Ahem. Clearing her throat, she glances at Oliver, looking apologetic even though she doesn't outright say she's sorry for swearing. "But it sounds like you've changed. That you're working hard on trying to make a difference. Much more than a lot of those rich turds can say." Pausing, she glances back out the windshield of her car as she adds quietly, "If you'd like, you can come hang out at my place and we can order Chinese or pizza."

The question Oliver asks has her laughing, Dinah amused. "Oh, I don't usually deliver that late. Around six or so is when I close the shop but occasionally have a late delivery. Usually not anywhere bad, though. Why do you ask?"

Green Arrow has posed:
"I'd just hate to think about you out here alone after dark. I'm sure you can take care of yourself but still...It's Gotham and all." As they drive Oliver takes in the sights, memorizing landmarks and noting potential places both for Queen Industries and patrol points for the Green Arrow.

"And I'm trying. It's a struggle though. Giving into a life of mindless debauchery is in my DNA. Hard to just turn my back on," he says. "And it's a date. I'm always game for pizza or chinese. So long as it's not stuff crust. I don't consider that real pizza," he adds.

Dinah (51) has posed:
The Historical District is left, the boundary between the older part of the city and the newer very obvious, the buildings here growing in height and changing in design, going from squat and historical to tall, gothic and dark. The driving continues for a while longer before the van is pulled up to an office high rise and turned off. "I appreciate the concern. I try not to go out too often. I prefer to stay at home and relax after a long day of sticking flowers into vases and stuff." Dinah gets out and opens the side door, making it easy to get the large bouquet out. "Here. Make yourself useful."

Blushing, she looks at the gentleman, smiling. "How about tonight, then? You can see the shop, we can get some Chinese and..." Wait. What did he just say? "Are you kidding? Stuffed crust is awesome!"

Green Arrow has posed:
"Aw, Dinah, we were off to such a good start. I guess this will just be another tale of epic love brought low by the curse of the stuffed crust pizza," Ollie says as he mimes heart ache and frowns deeply.

For a billionaire Ollie makes a decent florist's helper. He's no slouch at carrying flowers and moving where he's told to. "And tonight sounds great. So are there any special requests with this delivery? Are we supposed to sing a song or do a little dance or something?" He says as he cranes his neck to see if he can get a look at the card.

Dinah (51) has posed:
Dinah pfftts at Oliver, trying not to laugh at him and almost succeeding. "Oh please. You'll find other things to love about me. Like my charm. Wit. Intelligence. My love of Chinese take-out." Yes, she can play along with the best of them.

Getting her invoice book out of her pocket, she leads her temporary assistant to the door of the building and towards where the bank of elevators can be found. "No. Nothing like that. I draw the line at singing and dancing and everything else." Not that she can't sing. She just doesn't like doing so in public.

There's a card but from where Oliver is it's hard to read but he can make out the name Auntie June.

Green Arrow has posed:
"I bet you'd make a pretty penny if you added singing and dancing. I know now that I'm an employee this borders on sexual harassment but a looker like you? Depending on how loose you are with your morals I think skies the limit!" She might not be able to see it but the comment is accompanied by a waggle of his eyebrows.
"Aw, this is for Autnie June. So your feminine wiles, as impressive as they are, might be wasted here. Still, if we're looking for a tip I don't mind unbuttoning my shirt a bit..." Is he kidding? With Ollie it's often hard to tell...
