Aquaman has posed:
A few moments later people arrive on the Watchtower, transported by Zeta Beam, and taken to the space station's medical facility which is of course state of the art, and then some, thanks to the various resources available to the members of the Justice League. There are medical beds, doohickeys, maybe even some automated things!

"I want to thank you all for your aid back there." Arthur adds, "An attack like this is quite unprecedented." He will personally deposit Tempest on one of the beds, "But I suspect we will have a long few days ahead of us, if these are just the opening salvos."

Armor has posed:
Hisako clunks in. She hasn't left her armor.

The compressed, crunched-down right arm hasn't moved much since then, held up in a sort of painless posture against the 'chest' of the armor. Inside of it, it looks like her arm's in a sling.

"Oh, hah - w, well, we're the X-Men, it's the kind of thing we do! Something like this is, like, shit, ugh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to swear in front of you, sir," Hisako babbles. "I'm afraid if I put down my armor my arm's gonna blow up."

"I don't mean to be selfish," she keeps going, eyes tracking Tempest from inside of the translucent red framework.

"Um. They were talking about, the Dark Side? I didn't understand that," Hisako then says, to try and get her mind off of cussing in front of Aquaman.

Marvel Girl has posed:
You're fixating too much, Rachel reminds herself sharply somewhere in the corner of her mind, as she follows the members of the Justice League up into their Watchtower. It would be a breathtaking thing for her, considering she's never even really been anywhere like here, or at least in a state that she could enjoy it -- but her thoughts and attention are occupied as she watches Jean Grey be shuttled off towards the medbay. You're fixating, she reminds herself again. And you're making it way too obvious. I'm embarrassed for you.

Shut up, you're an idiot, Rachel eloquently tells herself -- but she remains otherwise quiet and reserved for most of that ride up, keeping her best poker face up that she can as she tears her attention away from the redheaded X-Man receiving medical attention and towards the rest of the gathered heroes.

"Huh?" answers Rachel, also eloquently, as Arthur thanks them. "--Oh. Um. Yeah, it's fine. If we let it be, and things just got worse, it'd be on us." Her green eyes cast down toward the ground for a moment, lips twisting. "I'm not gonna let that happen."

And, realizing she's probably just dragging down an already butchered mood, she clears her throat, and shifts the subject. "Armor -- your arm," her brows furrow inward, slightly. "Are you... okay? I didn't think that barrier could be pierced at all."

Darkstar has posed:
This is the first time that she's ever been in the Watch Tower and everything that Darkstar sees is rather intersting. She is in awe by the complexity of this place and here she states, "I am honored to be allowed to step foot within such a structure..." She tries to offer some support to Hisako as the other woman drags herself inside, but the foreign visitor cannot help but carefully observe her surroundings.

Perhaps, Arthur might recognize her from the gala which he threw earlier. It's not as if she wears an actual mask when in costume. Then there is also her voice, for she clearly has a strong Russian accent when she speaks. Did she say that she was a Diplomat that day?

"I am simply pleased to be of some help here, Your Highness. As a representative of the Russian Federation's Winter Guard, I am just glad that we were able to stop this... alien invasion." She isn't quite certain as to where they had come from. "For now anyway."

Her attention returns to Hisako and the girl's friend Rachel, whom she had just met prior to making the journey to the Watchtower. "What is this armor made of?" Rather than beat around the bush, she asks the question directly. Out of curiosity!

Tempest (343) has posed:
"Arthur." Garth says weakly, gripping his mentor's shoulder even as he's set down in a med-table. "I was going to kill her. I... I snapped and I would have killed them all if I had been able to." he actually feels worse abut this than about the wounds that he took. "I'm sorry."

The medical machine proves that Tempest's evaluation was correct - both of his legs are broken but luckily this is fixable with his some immobilization. Worse, though is that he has a concussion and a perforated spleen. Surgery isn't necessary, he's not bleeding internally anymore.

Aquaman has posed:
"Darkseid is their leader, we gather." Arthur says to the question from Armor, "A warlord from another world, this isn't the first world he has conquered either." he says with a nod of his head towards Armor, "And I'm not a particularly skilled medic, but I suspect it will be difficult to treat you with your armor still on.."

Arthur nods his head towards Darkstar, "I wouldn't call it stopped, but blunting their attack is a good step.. I fear what comes next." He turn back to Tempest and puts an hand re-assuringly on his shoulder, "Do not worry about that right now." He says, "We can talk once you've recovered."

Armor has posed:
"I didn't think so either," Armor answers Rachel, looking towards her. Rachel can probably see or feel the anxiety and terror that lurks beneath the surface!! "I mean... it's not... /totally/, but those weren't..."

Darkstar cues her. She looks at the Russian figure and says, "Oh! Uh. It's psionic energy, basically," eyes flicking away and around. "It's more or less indestructible!" More or less.

She swallows then at Arthur's word. "OK," she says, before her eyes go back to Rachel. Then dead ahead. She sucks a breath in through her teeth - the armor sort of just... turns off, like it was being projected on a screen -

She lands on her feet and wobbles. "Ngghhaahhhh," Armor half-wails into tight clenched teeth, as the burn injuries are exposed to open air and--!! The 'explosion' turns out to be a blister that was being suppressed by her power. The nasty burn on the back of the arm (second degree with a nice strawberry sized patch of third-degree) is obvious; scans would reveal several internal fractures of the forearm bones.

Armor giggles. Then, "Sorry," mostly towards Tempest. She wobbles slightly on her feet, but manages not to pitch over.

"It hurts way less now," she says, mostly to herself.

Tempest (343) has posed:
Garth nods to Arthur as the man rassures him. "Thank you." He closes his eyes to compose himself and then he has on his brave, confident leader face on.
"Nothing to be sorry for." he says. "You fought well, you all did." he says, biting back the pain. If he really saw them fight is irrelevant. "You're all in one piece, more or less. Even I am. So, that's a victory right there. Our enemy fled, so that's another."

He manages a grim smile. "My name is Garth. They also call me Tempest."

Marvel Girl has posed:
"The world's better off without monsters like them," comes Rachel's immediate, kneejerk response to Garth's apologetic words. But she quiets as Arthur consoles him instead, looking aside and rubbing at her left forearm with her right hand. It's not her place, she reminds herself, and falls silent anew.

Instead, green eyes fall quietly on Darkstar as she speaks, some measure of curiosity there as the Winter Guard addresses her and Hisako. "It's different from most I've seen," is her two cents on the matter of the other X-Man's power, her hand squeezing briefly at her forearm before slipping away. Her telepathy stretches out, a warm and constant presence working to dull Hisako's pain -- and reaching further outward to try to do the same for anyone else who might need some more immediate pain killing.

"These are the big leagues," she says to Armor, after a moment. "This isn't... I doubt those were even their main forces. Those were more like..." Her words trail, familiarity briefly in her green eyes before they shut so she may reassert that poker face anew. "... they were more like attack dogs, I guess."

But it's as Hisako lets her psychokinetic armor dissipate with a wobble that she moves, reaching out with a hand to rest on her teammate's shoulder and steady her just in case she ends up falling like a sack of bricks. "I'm tweaking your pain receptors," she explains, "you'll be fine. It could've been a lot worse." It really, really could have. She pauses, and ventures towards Arthur, after a moment: "--Phoenix, she's going to be fine, right?"

Darkstar has posed:
Darkstar nods solemnly to Arthur's correction of her words, knowing that he speaks the truth. "You are right. All that we can do is be prepared." She then considers thoughtfully, "I was to return home some time in the next few days, but have an urge to remain here just in case. Then again, who knows when they will attack next. Or where." But from everything that she's been hearing about in the news, the attacks weren't spread out and were more of a concentrated effort in one location.

A nod is then given to Armor and to the young woman's response to her question, the Russian hero studies the psionic armor more intently now. But it is once the armor is 'shut off' and the girl's wounds are exposed that brings out more emotion out of Darkstar. If just a little. "That looks terrible." She is quick to point out, but steps aside when the medical sorts work to tend to her.

Out of some curiosity, it is now Darkstar's turn to observe Rachel as she tries to sooth her friend's pain. In the near distance, she does hear an introduction being made, making her divert her gaze in Tempest's direction. "They call me Darkstar." This is an introduction of her own. No need to mention her Russian super soldier team again just now, so she leaves it at that.

Aquaman has posed:
Arthur will begin removing the shirt of his armor, leaving the Atlantean shirtless, he too has a similar burn mark on his side, though, probably not quite as severe as the injury Armor's sustained. "Phoenix will be getting the best care she can, I'm sure she'll be just fine." He moves to fetch a spray thing, spraying down his burn. "I'll be heading back down to Metropolis shortly to get back into the fight. If you need transportation anywhere I can arrange it before I depart."

Tempest (343) has posed:
Garth sighs in relief as Rachel telepathically helps ease his pain. "Thank you." he says, his smile less grim now. "I can't thank you all enough for coming to the League's aid, and that of all of those people out there."

He inclines his head towards Darkstar. "I wish we had met in better circumstances. When we drive this Darkseid away for good, I hope we can meet again and do this properly." and he chuckles. "As you can see, I'm hardly in a shape to entertain new friends." He looks aroind again. "All of you. We'll have a feast."

Armor has posed:
Armor has also sweated out like a liter of water. She breathes heavily when Rachel speaks, and answers her, "Well... I guess I pounded three of 'em... so that's pretty good, right?"

"We uh - we should go back to our - own base," she says to Arthur, faltering a little. "Once it's checked out. I mean, when - Phoenix is good. I saw she had a nosebleed...?"

Garth's confidence makes her smile, a little, tho' it remains shaky. "Yeah. That would be wonderful." If. Her eyes go back then to Darkstar, as she says, "I'm Armor." A beat, as if she's expecting a Remark.

Marvel Girl has posed:
"Oh, okay, that's... okay, good," Rachel murmurs after a long moment, running a hand through her short mop of red hair with a sigh. "Thank you. That's a relief."

For now, though, Rachel seems content to focus on acting as a telepathic morphine drip for Garth and Hisako; she manages a small smile for the Atlantean, and the brief shake of her head. "It's fine," she says, after a moment, smile dimming to a look of frowning contemplation. "All this affects all of us, right? I've seen how things go when people turn a blind eye. And I'll fight like hell to make sure it doesn't happen again." She pauses, and then manages a brief grin anew.

"Really good," she assures Hisako. "You kicked some serious ass out there. Like a real X-Man." With that, she just embraces the welcome distraction of her work, her thoughts wandering as she leans against a wall and lets her eyes shut; she didn't realize just how exhausting that all was. "... mm? Oh, ah, sorry. I'm Rachel," she finally greets, one eye cracking open to look at the rest of them for a quiet moment. No codename, it seems, or surname. Rachel works just fine for her. "Armor's right. If you can arrange some transportation for her and Phoenix, I'd appreciate it." She, pointedly, leaves herself out of that request. After all -- there's still work to do here.

Darkstar has posed:
"Tempest." Darkstar files that name into memory once she's said it. "There is no need for entertainment. You, and the injured here, should rest. There will be time for feasting later." Though, when Arthur simply sprays down his own wound and mentions his preparation to return to battle, the Russian diplomat knows enough to not say a thing and hold her tongue. From what she has seen, the King of Atlantis, more than any of them, perhaps, can handle his own.

"I thank you again, Armor, for your assistance. It is unfortunate that the one whom we had fought escaped, but she, along with the rest of them, will know what awaits them if they ever do return." Then to Rachel, the third name set to memory. No code name, which is somewhat strange, but not something for her to mull over.

In the end, she does state to Arthur, "I would like to return to the city as well. To help protect it, in case of the invaders' return."

Aquaman has posed:
"When you're ready, Armor, you and Phoenix can be sent back to wherever you need to go." Arthur says with a nod of his head, "Tempest, I'll be back to check in soon. I'll send word to your comrades about your injuries." His wound spray-sealed, he is moving to don his armor again and he nods, "Those of you heading back now, follow me."
