Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Shatterpoint, Red Hood

Shatterpoint has posed:
There've been rumors, and weird shifts, within the underworld of Gotham. What it boils down to is some new person moving in on the Bat's turf. At that, the process has been... Brutal. Descriptions of the injuries vary, but overall, shattered bones and conspicuously severed muscle fibers are common. The shattering of bones is incredible aggressive, and in many occasions, they strangely are not accompanied by blunt force trauma or other injuries that breaking a bone would require.

There are testimonies of what this new person looks like, too- Canary, apparently, encountered her. Relatively normal and plain looking woman. Porcelain white skin, blue eyes. Typically in a sweater and jeans- nothing impressive, but enough to go on for someone like... Well, so far, -anyone- in the Bat-family to find her.

Tonight, she's just... Wandering the Narrows. Nothing is going on, tonight- as apparently temporarily there is a lull in criminal activity, even in this particular part of Gotham. What is most disconcerting about this woman's arrival, however, is that in response to the brutal treatment that the scum of Gotham are receiving, many of the criminals that can are up-arming, going from knives to guns, or from guns to bigger guns.

Red Hood has posed:
Bigger guns coming to Gotham Streets? Has Christmas come early for the Red Hood? You bet! When the criminals get big guns, the Red Hood goes shopping...and by shopping we mean releving the criminals of those guns. Most he destroys out of spite, but Jason is nothing if not a practical vigilante. He collects anything new or strange he can carry, and makes sure to appropreate any ammo the scum of the alleys bring to his stomping grounds.

This new player, however, has gotten his attention. Not only has his honor been impuned as the most brutal vigilante around, but not just anyone can take up the mantle of villain hunter in the dark streets of Gotham City. At best, they would become a distraction. At worse, they will turn into another body in the morgue. The Red Hood is on the hunt, using the rooftops as his method of hunting for the described woman, but attempting to keep a distance. Metas are nothing to be trifled with.

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline is deceptively not someone to be trifled with- she doesn't look very threatening, but the reports of encounters describe her as being incredibly agile, and at least some minor degree stronger than she looks. That's something the most of it, though, as the shock and pain of encountering her has rendered most of her 'victims' incapable of remembering some of the specifics.

Nothing completely out of the mundane in terms of weaponry is available for poaching. Pistols have just been traded in for automatics, and smaller automatics have been traded for assault rifles. Nothing has been successful in even hitting this new assailant... So far. It seems a futile gesture, but then again, the criminals of Gotham are not exactly -skilled.-

Caroline herself is easy enough to find, walking the Narrows on foot. She sticks out somewhat like a sore thumb, because- well, to be frank- she's an attractive looking woman, walking around, at night, alone. It's basically crime-bait, and nobody seems to be biting this evening.

Red Hood has posed:
The Hood has taken the bait though. From atop the roofs, Jason looks through the scope of his rifle. He catches sight of the young lady, and lets out a sigh. "Well that is just unhealthy, unless she is a Kryptonian," He pulls his eyes away from the scope. "Jesus that is a terrifying thought." He grumbles to himself.

Jason slings the rifle on his back, and takes off. He parkours over the rooftops to get closer to the woman.

Shatterpoint has posed:
Whether she can see Hood or not is impossible to -really- tell, as she doesn't -seem- to... But at the same time, there's a level of vigilante paranoia that is likely to set in regardless of whether or not she can conceivably perceive him. She doesn't stop walking, nor does she hitch or pause. In reality, Caroline would be able to see him, if she was actually looking. She hasn't heard him yet, but there's this form of footsies that is involved in the superheroic crowd meeting one another.

Red Hood has posed:
Red Hood looks around, ensuring the coast is clear. "Might as well get this over with," He grumbles from behind his helmet. "Waiting will just get someone killed." He hefts a piece of broken brick in his hand and gives it a toss. He aims specifically at the ground next to Caroline to get her attention.

Shatterpoint has posed:
At the clatter of the brick, Caroline seems... Not surprised, but caught some degree of unawares. However, despite that, from the position of the brick she looks immediately to where Hood is on the rooftop- hiding or not. It's pretty incredible, those glowing eyes of hers locking on the looming vigilante. However, he looks much more sinister than the others she's met, which sets her a little more on edge than when she met Batman. Her hands slip from the pockets of her jeans- she isn't taking a stance of any kind, nor is she -saying- anything. She's just... Looking at him, otherwise ready.

Red Hood has posed:
The Red Hood hrmphs to himself once. "Definitely meta then," He says, shaking his head slightly. "This should be fun."

Jason waves to Caroline, motioning to a fire escape and then motioning for her to come up. He turns his back on her and moves just out of sight, waiting to see if the woman would join him or not. He stashes the rifle, so as to not be overtly threatening.

Shatterpoint has posed:
It has probably been a while since someone did this to Jason. He turns his back to her, and then slings the firearm, and then turns back around- and without the noise of a fire escape, or anything the like, Caroline is standing there on the edge of the rooftop. She's around the exact position that he was in a few moments ago. It's basically a Batman thing. She isn't flying, though, so that's good, but that does leave him sort of out the loop on how she gets around. She still hasn't said anything, but on the rooftop like that, she does cut a mildly imposing figure.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason turns around and sees her standing there. Thankfully the mask covers his face so she can't see the puzzled expression. "Yeah, leaning more towards Kryptonian now," He says, crossing his arms. "Rumor has it you've been dishing out a boat load of beatings, Miss. Granted its to the criminal element of Gotham, which is why you don't have more people on your ass right now than just me. What's drawn me here actually, is your methods."

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline does mysterious pretty well. He approaches, and funnily enough, mentions something that she has never heard of. Her brow raises about the time that her methods are questioned, and she takes a single, calm step off of the rim of the roof to make her way towards him. Her silence is a little maddening, but at the same time, it's hard not to understand its meaning- she's inquiring about his statements. She doesn't seem to feel like her input is required, yet.

Red Hood has posed:
Jason grumbles again. "So typically conversations go more than one way," He says, raising an eyebrow at Caroline. "Taking to a brick wall is not as much fun as people make it sound." Jason lets his hands fall to his side, and squares his shoulders. "What I am asking is rather simple. Who are you? What are you doing? And give me a reason why I should let you continue to operate in my city?"

Shatterpoint has posed:
She speaks- which, probably, ruins the conversation for Jason. The noise that she makes is nothing properly approaching a voice, even though it can be recognized as one. It's more of a harsh rasp, like a death rattle twisted into words. It hitches on sounds and syllables, and she sounds almost like something from a horror movie, given flesh. Best not to really -think- about it. "My name is Caroline Ramsey. I am doing everything I can." And then, because Hood postured, got aggressive, she returns that aggression- it is only fair. "Because I do not believe you can stop me."

Red Hood has posed:
"Doing everything you can, huh?" Jason replies, narrowing his gaze. "To turn all criminals in gotham into mince meat? Don't get me wrong, I don't blame you for wanting to make Gotham a better place, but what happens when you make a mistake, go to far, hurt the wrong person. You haven't killed anyone yet to my knowledge, or we wouldn't be having his conversation...if you can call it that." Jason doesn't back down, but he doesn't step up either. "I'm not here to posture or threaten. I'm here to observe and record."

Shatterpoint has posed:
"That's correct." she notes, slipping her hands back into her pockets. "To stop the people that have been abusing this city for a very, very long time. If that involves the pain and suffering of those that deserve a modicum of it, then I think that is... Acceptable." Her head then rocks to one side. "You approach me with a rifle and expect me to dignify that statement in any way? I will do less lethal damage than you do, and my judgment is... Particularly apt."

Red Hood has posed:
"I /tracked/ you with a rifle," Jason replies with a soft chuckle. "There is a difference. If you want to be technical, and most people in this city do, I approached you with a brick." He lets out a sigh and raises an eyebrow at Caroline. "What makes your judgment more apt than anyone else? What empowers you to be judge and jury?"

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline shrugs, slightly. "In Gotham, the task is not necessarily very... Hard. There is an extreme lack of moral subtlety within its citizenry. There always have been." she notes, offering a lilt of her head for a moment. "For example, I would wager any one of the Waynes is probably an upstanding individual, but I haven't met any of them in the past... Fifty years. Not much has changed since then."

Red Hood has posed:
"Fifty years," Jason muses, a bit of mirth coming into his voice. "Well...you look well preserved for your age."

At the mention of the Waynes, Jason has to stiffle a laugh. "You'd probably like the current living Wayne," Jason says, crossing his arms again. "You and him would get along swimmingly. As far as the moral subtlety of Gotham's citizenry, or the difficulting of cleaning up Gotham's streets, you'd be surprised. There is complexity everywhere. You need to simply look for it."

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline nods a moment. "That is... Correct," she states, at the last statement. "After all, there is an extreme difference between, for example, a child stealing the wheels of an automobile so that they can survive, and a person stepping out of an alleyway with a pistol intent on taking money and lives. There is plenty of base complexity, but it is not entirely difficult to work through. The fear presented by the... Examples that have been made drives the sadistic and depraved to revealing their depravity, and for the fearful and desperate to reveal their motivations."

Red Hood has posed:
Jason's eyes narrow again, and his brow furrows beneath the helmet. He doesn't say anything for a long moment. "Or it will drive them further underground," He growls. "Ruining the investigations of the police and their allies. Allowing the bigger fish to get away."

Shatterpoint has posed:
"If they are in Gotham, they are almost certainly as underground as they can make themselves, but going deeper will not offer them any further protection. You are not incorrect, however, but I would argue that, frustratingly, I have seen that the police and its detectives are sorely... Lacking. They have a level of... Corruption that is, frankly, disgusting- but it is not, really, new."

Red Hood has posed:
"We must work with the tools we are given," Jason responds, putting his hands on his hips. "That include corruption inherent in the system, super powers, and high powered firearms." He turns, scooping up his rifle and slinging it over his shoulder. "But there are a few who are stand up individuals. Look to Gordon. He can help."

Jason turns back and gives Caroline another hard stare. "You aren't a direct danger," He grumbles again. "You haven't crossed any lines I haven't at some point, but don't assume that just because I seem to be human, that you will always win. Everyone has a weakness."

The Red Hood turns to leave, walking away and leaving Caroline in on the rooftop. If she had anything else to say, now would be the time.

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline stands there for a short while longer, but admittedly, it does not take long for him to get far enough away that she decides against making any comment. He is not entirely wrong. There are people here that she can speak to, of which, Commissioner Gordon is a good first step. There are some issues with that, however, in that she has no particularly good way to contact the Commissioner.

Showing up randomly near Barbara is probably her best bet. That'll go well, though she doesn't necessarily know that Barbara exists yet. Taking a step or two backwards, Caroline steps off of the roof ledge behind her, and drops to the ground without a sound, walking in her own direction.
