Cast of Characters: Oracle, Shatterpoint

Oracle has posed:
The message left for him by Barbara is pretty straightforward -- "Dad, there's apparently a new cape in town. She approached me the other night and asked if I could arrange a meet with you. PD rooftop, 9pm tomorrow." It's not exactly USUAL for vigilantes to go through his daughter to get to him -- usually they come through Batman. So it's rather alarming for him and not exactly happy-making for the commissioner. He'd much rather all of the denizens of the night kept away from his daughter.

So here he stands on his police department rooftop, waiting to see who exactly has had the audacity to come at him from this angle. And despite the fact that the moon is dark tonight, there are enough low lights on this rooftop to illuminate the fact that the man is alone.

Shatterpoint has posed:
While Jim is there, for a time, he is alone. Then it happens. After all these years, after all this time dealing with Batman, the man has almost certainly developed a certain sixth sense. A -feeling.- While Caroline isn't as quiet as Batman, she is rather stealthy- and while -how- she got there is a form of mystery, the Commissioner knows damn well -when- she arrived.

If anyone else has claim to feel the combined emotions of "oh, -another- one" and "THIS again?", it's Jim Gordon. Regardless, nothing is likely to have prepared him for what he hears when she speaks.

"Commissioner Gordon." it begins, that horrid, horrid voice. "I have come here to speak to you about Gotham City."

Oracle has posed:
The sound of the voice is definitely a shock to the man, and he starts slightly. Jim turns to face her, studying the form in front of him. "So I've heard," he replies calmly. "What exactly would you like to discuss?" Whatever his feelings about how this meeting got started or about how she made her contact, at this point in time he treats her as he'd treat anyone who requested a meeting -- politely and giving her his attention.

Shatterpoint has posed:
Caroline has her face hidden, at least, this time. So that's probably good. She might not be recognized. "I have... Abilities. There are many particular... Problems that plague this city. I want to... Help." she states, remaining creepy and mildly vague as ever. All Jim can -really- see are the glowing blue circles in the darkness of the rooftop.

Oracle has posed:
It's more than a little ... well, let's be honest. It's just flat terrifying. And Jim hadn't thought he really had the capability of being that uneasy or afraid of anything the Gotham night had to offer anymore. He's been the police commissioner for alot of years, after all. "So.... out of curiosity, why are you actually approaching me to tell me about it?" he asks. After all, no one ELSE ever did. "Generally speaking, I'm not really the one whose permission you need to be on the rooftops of this town." He smirks faintly. "And I'm reasonably sure you already know that, if you've been here any length of time."

Shatterpoint has posed:
"I was told, by a man in a red mask, that you would... Be a useful contact. That I should speak to you." she offers, informing him of some form of olive branch she was asked to hold out. In response, Gordon probably readies the memorandum to start using Lethal Force in response to anything involving the Red Hood. Regardless, though, he'll have to deal with this... Thing.

"There have been a number of... Criminals, who have been apprehended with injuries to bones and soft tissue that I have been told were... Extreme. That was my doing." Oh, so -she's- the reason people are starting to commit muggings with automatics.

Oracle has posed:
"I see." Gordon's tone is a little more chilly with that information. He'd thought he was dealing with someone new -- Batman keeps his proteges on a pretty tight leash. So at least there's that explanation. "Well... you may have abilities, but you've definitely made my life harder with your particular skill set. There are reasons Batman keeps a tight rein on the vigilantes in this town. It's so we *don't* have simple muggings and corner store robberies with automatic weaponry." He sighs.

"Here's the deal. You want to operate in this town, you do it with no killing and no excessive violence. You do the minimum to subdue. If you cross the line, you deal with Batman. I deal with the cops in this town and he keeps all of you in line. If I have reason to come looking for you, it's going to be a serious problem. But so long as you abide by the rules of engagement, I look the other way. Is that what you needed to know?"

Shatterpoint has posed:
There's a silence. Admittedly, Gordon isn't likely to know a whole lot about what Caroline can do- nobody really does. Almost nobody has seen her take a hit, and Canary has seen her take out some people running away, but otherwise... Radio silence, in that regard. She's pretty thorough and clinical- as according to the criminals she's "apprehended", she hasn't been shot yet, and hasn't really been -hit- either.

"Yes. As well, whatever is currently in need of... Handling."

Oracle has posed:
"Currently in need of handling? I have a gang war between the Ukrainians and the Russians that is spanning the entire corridor between here and Bludhaven. I've got the Tong, who always need watching. I have two major drug rings operating within the city limits who are always on the brink of killing each other and everyone between them. Plus about four times your usual number of muggings, rapes, and robberies. So... take your pick." Jim blows out a rough breath. "This is not an easy town. You want to help here? I'll take all the help I can get, as long as you're not dropping dead and maimed perps on me."

Shatterpoint has posed:
Carolien nods once, somewhat unseen. "I'll get to work." she states, and then without a sound, she drops off of the side of the building. It is likely that she does so in the middle of Gordon's sentence, prompting him to speak to the lonely rooftop for a word or two longer, before realizing nobody is there. It's also probable that he -still- hates that, and furthermore, that he has ANOTHER one doing it to him.

Oracle has posed:
There is some cursing that goes on under his breath and Gordon heads back into the precinct. Batman better keep that one under his thumb.
