Cast of Characters: Gravitas, Superwoman

Gravitas has posed:
"So... Um. What kind of holidays did they have on Krypton anyway...?" Tori has waited awhile to ask this question. She rarely speaks of Faora's home, especially after everything that's happened. tonight, however, it's just them and she's crept up beside the Kryptonian to gently ask her questions.

"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it," the girl adds after a moment, blinking her blue eyes as she comes close. "Oh. I met, um. Hyperion last night," she continues cheerfully. "In costume. There was a beached whale and he couldn't move it without killing it, so... Anyway." A beat. "He noticed the colours I was wearing and asked about you a little. Seems cool. Canadian, maybe? Don't know much about him."

Tori pauses before she adds, "I wanted to get home in time to ru ninto you so I didn't stick around long once we saved Wilhelmina."

Superwoman has posed:
At home, Faora typically spent her time in quiet. She's never been a very talkative sort- although, she does certainly allow Tori to get close. To enjoy her company and feel comfortable in her silences with the often far more talkative human.

"That depends on who you ask. Raoists had a great many holidays- those who followed the ancient religion of our people." Faora begins, "There is the Nova Celebration- the time when traditionally all debts and legal matters must be ended, before the new year comes." she takes a slow moment, just sitting back on the love-seat she'd been occupying when Tori approached. "Apart from that, birthdays were often celebrated. Weddings. Anniversaries. We transitioned to a mostly logical, scientifically minded people a long, long time ago- and so the festivals and holidays were largely secular in nature. At least, among the majority of us."

Gravitas has posed:
"That makes sense," Tori agrees quietly. She shifts a little bit closer yet, right ot the point where she can wrap her arms around Faora and hug her itghtly. Tori's talkativity comes and goes. She'll sit in silence for hours with no complaints - or talk at Faora with no responses. Mostly she's always aware of the soldier and her moods, and tends to plan her own movements around her.

"Christmas is starting to become secular too, but there's a lot of religion and mystiism tied into it. My parents wee never really religious so mostly we just gave gifts and things..." The words come in a slow, measured way. Tori breathes a soft sigh. "I don't know. I feel like I should do somehting. Adjusting to earth customs, right?" A beat. "I love you. In case you weren't sure."

Superwoman has posed:
"I love you too, Tori." Faora offers softly, nodding, otherwise to her statements- "If you would like to exchange gifts, we can do this thing. Or have the tree. Gifts under the tree- however it is supposed to work. I am afraid the holiday itself will mean little to me- but if it makes you happy, I will do my best." she offers softly giving Victoria a tight, fond squeeze.

Gravitas has posed:
"For me it's mostly an excuse to give you more things," Tori responds, on the vege of giggling. She leans into Faora more firmly when she is being squeezed, apparently fine with being squeezed 'tightly' by someone capable of crushing mountains. "I think we should do a traditional Christmas just once so you know how it goes. I'll put up the tree. It's kind of pretty. And then we can do whatever. Speedy will observe and ascertain that our decorations have been appropriately placed. He's busy, though. I think he's runnin for office."

Superwoman has posed:
"Ah, yes. The Turtle Elections." Faora replies with a nod, "If that's what you want, that is what we'll do." she says simply. "A traditional Christmas. You will need to tell me how that works, though. I am afraid I do not know." she states softly, "So, you'll have to take lead and tell me how this is supposed to work."

Gravitas has posed:
"Me, taking the lead? Gosh, we *have* gotten comfortable with eachother, haven't we?" Tori can't help the giggling now but she quickly nods. "Well. I'll put up the tree. The tradition's changed a lot in the last hundred years so mostly we're going to each wrap gifts and put them beneath the tree surprise one another with--- I'll decorate the apartment and make cookies." Then she pauses and glances over toward Speedy. "The Turtle Elections are very serious," Tori notes sagely. "And he's a contender for Prime Minister this year."

Superwoman has posed:
"I'll let you know if something I'm un-sure about happens." Faora offers, not laughing. She does smile, ever so slightly though. She's just not the laughing type- not typically. "Very well." she says then, nodding again. "I will find you a gift." she says then, "And Speedy has my vote." she says, looking over towards the turtle who's typically given a run of the floor when the pair are at home.

Gravitas has posed:
One might swear Speedy salutes when Faora looks his way. Maybe he's just crawling about. As a turtle he frequently does so, after all. No doubth he has had a long day of visiting his constituents. Victoria, for her part, simply closes her eyes and squeezes firmly. She's much, much stronger than she looks --- not that exerting that strength will bring Faora to any harm. "Okay. We'll do that then," Tori continues. "Anyway. I think I want to get out and do more 'heroing', or whatever we want to call it. I'm ready to do more."

Superwoman has posed:
"I'm busy with that almost constantly, Tori." Faora notes, "You've just been busy with school." she remarks, then, "Which is quite important. I fully support that." She says to the college student. She might even be able to help with science and other concepts. She might not be a scientist- but she's better educated than many professors at Earthling colleges. Just the way advanced planets go.

"You need to have an education." Faora states simply, "Its a good thing to protect others, but you shouldn't cheapen your own life for the sake of others. Not at your age."

Gravitas has posed:
"Which is why I've been focusing on school lately. But I can't just pretend nothing's happening. You're out there saving people and I think I have just as much to give." Victoria lets that statement settle in for a moment before she adds, "I can do both. I'm already way ahead in all of my classes. And we work well together. I think I can really help. I won't neglect my studies or anything like that." She straightens slowly, keeping her hands on Faora's sides.

Superwoman has posed:
Faora pauses quietly, still holding Tori close. "As long as you keep your grades up." she says then, "So- not during finals week or anything like that." she says, "Its important.. and I'll help you with whatever I can." she states then, "You should also be certain to take time for your family and friends." Faora has Tori, that's about it- and she certainly makes certain to be here when Tori is here. When TOri isn't here, and she's other wise not heroing it up she runs her fitness studio.

Gravitas has posed:
"Right. Not during Finals unless there's another invasion or something. And you know I'd never leave the kiddos to fend for themselves," Tori admits, nodding slowly when she does. "You know, the littlest one wants to call you Aunt Damaris. She's so cute." Now Tori is giggling softly again. "As for the rest of it... You are my family." There's a pause. "And this is making time for you. Kind of. So I guess we've got that settled then."

Superwoman has posed:
Faora nods quietly, "Yes. She is quite darling." she says simply. "But I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that." she admits, "However, I see no reason to correct her if she is determined to do so." That's about as close to a 'Sure if she wants to' that Faora would ever give anyone.

Faora lets the words 'You are my family' hang there quietly- and simply responds with a another squeeze.

Gravitas has posed:
"I'll tell her you said that," Tori promises. Which is as close as she'll get to admitting that it's already been decided regardless of their input. Then Tori too is quiet, resting her weight against Foara's side and watching the far side of the apartment. That's one thing they can share: silence. Somehow it makes everything else seem less important.
